PN, you constantly find it necessary to quote people out of context, but providing that YouTube link we get to hear what Cronkite actually said, so you defeated your own purpose.

The major problem in the world today is rabid nationalism, that Us versus Them philosophy which has been at the root of nearly every war waged. No one government wants to give up any of its sovereignty and thus it was correct for Cronkite to say that a world government would be extremely difficult to achieve.
