We are almost one quarter of a way into the century

1
al-Baghdadi an islamic idiot who founded ISIS engaged in genocides, one of the shortest lived Empires of all time.
2
Ali Khamenei, another idiotic flavor of islamism the Supreme Leader of Iran
3
Putin, at the start Russians might have thought they were getting a patriot and soem guy who might start to give strong democracy, little did they know the Tyrant would continue to rule
4
Nicolás Maduro, you could perhaps put another dictator here, a communist North Korea in here or Belarus or another idiot islamic such as the idiot President of Azerbaijan, Leader of Ham-Ass living it up in Qatar oink oink Ismail Haniyeh
5
Bush junior the War on Terror guy, George W. Bush as the 43rd president of the United States
6
Joe Biden basically seems as senile as Reagan was, some say he's a puppet
7
Tony Blair, destroyed British Labour Party probably helped create Scottish Nationalism and his foolishness gave power to Conservative Brexit politics, turned England's politics into a clown show, you could arguably switch Tony Blair for a Merkel or Trudeau or Macron or maybe Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu one of the longest-serving prime ministers ever
8
Hollyweird US Western Entertainment industry culture...destroying itself 300 Million productions sabotaged by garbage politics, you could also include behind the scenes Bilderberg or Club or Rome or Bohemian Grove participants the Dutch King Willem-Alexander of the prostitute drug nation of Holland Netherlands, Nobuo Tanaka, Ursula von der Leyen, George Shultz, Ashok Khosla, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands, Caspar Weinberger, Kyrsten Sinema, Prince Andrew, Les Wexner, Ghislaine Maxwell, the Queen of England, King Charles, John Lehman, John Hewko, Jeff Bezos etc people who openly throw bad money at bad ideas or openly engage in crime
I might also include an leader of Mexcio, basically a Narco state.
9
Sepp Blatter aand Sportsball people, Olympics, former FIFA chiefs...basically bankrupting nations with idiot ball worship
I am not totally against some Sporting Entertainment I think it can be a positive for a country with democratic values, a somewhat middle class poor country on the rise for example Australia (1956), and Japan (1964), South Korea (1988), Spain (1992), China (2008) but for expensive countries it is a nuisance.
10
News media, Video Game CEOs, Fox, BCC, CNN, Disney etc turning people against each other Left vs Right, Conservative vs Liberal Gamergate trash.

Best is difficult to say maybe a type of anti-islamic like Rushdie, a state nation leader like Lee Kuan Yew, science people like John Naisbitt, Elon Musk, Kim Stanley Robinson, Freeman Dyson, Michio Kaku, Nick Bostrom or a leader from South Korea or maybe an Eastern European nation like Hungary, yes Norway's Jens Stoltenberg might be an asshole but he has helped expand NATO and protect Norway without risk to Norwegians and Norway already part of the first countries were part of NATO at the time of its founding. Or maybe not Jens Stoltenberg since like a typically politican he will kiss the ass of a Saudi islamist or the Hindu Indian. Ralph Nader made small but significant contributions to US politics despite hhaving a small role he had influence with Green, Reform, Independent and his sometimes classed as Libertarian maybe Shimon Peres for his peace efforts. Trump had the chance to be a good leader if he wasn't so divisive, sepnt so long kiss ass like kissing Netanyahu's ass and if he wasn't such a sleazy guy with his past catching up on him and such a hot head, Donald Trump lacked patience and class at times so maybe an Ayaan Hirsi Ali for exposing jihadi islamism.

"Best" and "worst"?

I guess you have to ask:

Best for who?
Worst for who?

Bill Clinton was a godsend to financiers and copyright holders and monopolies. Congress and he rewrote the rules so some people could get very, very rich.

Also, what kind of leader? Poltical? Moral? Scientific. Intellectual?

How about... Mike Rowe, of "Dirty Jobs" and "Deadliest Catch" fame? I think he did a good job countering the "lifestyles of the rich and famous" trend by elevating work. Sometimes hard. Dirty. Dangerous (and sometimes all three) work.

Any good dad, or mom, is a good leader.

I would say if you are to pick try to judge for for all and any category Moral, Economic, Scientific etc . When I was younger I believed Bush senior and Bill Clinton were very good leaders, the US had won the Cold War the economy was moving. I paid little attention to conspiracy or scandals, from old PirateNews posts we see there were possibly Gay Homosexual Callboys going to the Reagan Bush Whitehouse, a Franklin child prostitution ring reports, Bill Clinton knew Epstein, who knows how much of the JohnLee Pirate News stuff will turn out to be true. Mike Rowe I guess is good, appreciation of the work man or working woman through entertainment but is he a 'Leader' I guess maybe his work at tv or the Discovery channel is somewhat of a leadership role or his working rights activism, I don't know if I would call him a 'Leader' but perhaps I can be convinced maybe he is.

India is a strange one, while it is moving forward it also is extremely poor with huge problems and per population you could also compare it to any regular poverty country in Africa. Modi is India's most prominent leader in decades, however could you compare with people who have progressed science in the West or people who have helped morality and rights in the Western world. The Hindu Indian mindset is very different to Western values but on paper it is classed as a 'Democracy'. There is outside force for example the Italian connection, the higher caste religious groups that got rich during British time Anglophone elite, Sonia Gandhi her husband and a former Prime Minister of India, and remained in office until 2017 after serving for twenty-two years, maybe not always Hindu Nationalist.

How to they compare with Africa, Latin America or the Middle East and the rest of Asia? Mostly not secular a mob heated up by Amit Shah with Yogi Adityanath type. Non scientific people that pray to the ass of a Cow, pseudoscience is everywhere astrology, superstitions and products of dubious value. You think corruption is bad in the EU or Lawfare is bad in the USA try India, really bad corruption with judges and legal trails, some of the worst chief justices to have served in India’s Supreme Courts. Less seperation between Military and Democratic bodies over time, armed forces joining with government inside politics. The Elite cosmopolitan Brahmin Guru people born into books with a wide international sophistication and diverse culture...they are never wrong influence policy and know what's best for everyone they say. Tv nutty with bad manners plus riddled with random Joe Rogan style conspiracy theory, four or five people amped up emotional and shouting over each other at the same time in mainstream media. In the nation of India you have constant Assassinations like the Mexicans do, events you do not hear in the Western media, Phoolan Devi, Sidhu Moose Wala, Kamlesh Tiwari, Kidari Sarveswara Rao, Mahendra Karma, Paritala Ravindra, Govind Pansare, Rajo Singh all types of political people stabbed, blown up, lynched by the mob or shot dead. Modi was classed among presidents and prime ministers who badly mishandled but rather than face fall out from criticism he gains more power and among his staff a message which tells his people to drink Cow-Piss for Covid or Cow Urine cures to combat Corona virus, after helping organize mass festivals to spread the virus he then sent out military police to beat people back into their homes for extended lockdowns making them sicker again locked indoors. The Prime Minister role by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh seems to play a greater role than 'President' roles of K. R. Narayanan, Droupadi Murmu, A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Pranab Mukherjee, Pratibha Patil every time they would take a step forward somehow by religion or superstition or caste or tradition they would also take two steps backwards, they have a wide mix of languages and faiths and their sense of morals is very different to the West. The Indian Hindu suppression of free speech and of course the Hindu National mob?

I guess I don't expect to find a wholly good leader. One problem is that anyone who achieved some level of influence and (especially) power is usually filtered thru a corrupt system.

AFA political leaders ... well, there's pretty slim pickings nowadays. Having scaled back my expectations I would be happy to nominate someone who led his/her country to a decent standard of living on a sustainable basis. By sustainable I don't mean only environmentally but also economically, financially, politically, and socially. A system and society that would be there, and responsive to the needs of its people, for many generations.

Even those scaled back expectations are a tall order. Nobody in the west fits the bill bc we're falling apart, so whatever people were hoping to achieve it didn't last and it's not good for almost everybody.

At this point I would settle for "not as bad as the alternative".

Religious leaders, like the Pope... Well, they came up thru a corrupt system too. I'm not looking in that direction.

Maybe Elon Musk. Smart guy, bucks the system, bedeviled by mania but he doesn't wilt in the face of opposition.

I think the constant consolidation of power into fewer and fewer hands have had a lot to do with the reason that we're never going to have good leadership.

I think there was a pretty happy medium on that which peaked some time in the 80's or 90's, at least here in the US. The government was probably just around the right size during that time. Clinton's Telecommunications Act of 1996 was the end of that era. If there was ever going to be an opportunity to have good people leading everything, it slipped right on by us after the nationwide media was bought up by a few major players. Nothing but nonstop propaganda 24/7 since then.

That's what happens when you give jobs to people based solely on their physical traits they have no control over rather than finding people who are qualified and capable to handle a job.
