SIX, you have a tremendous grotch against women.

The woman shown in the circle around Trump, at one point seeming to shoulder him upright, is NOT the same woman you're slagging. Their hairstyles are different. The woman in the iconic photo actually came from the other side of the stage, she arrived VERY late but was actually directed into place by someone else and was just apparently doing her job.

Which you would have noticed if you hadn't been so intent on bagging on "women in general". (I guess we all look the same to you!)

Also, according to a whistleblower, many of the security there weren't even Secret Service. She may not have even been part of the Secret Service detail.

So cool your jets and stop bringing your special grotch into the picture. I know you're trying to prove a point, but you don't apparently know what the situation was, and there were far bigger fuckups in this whole clusterfuck that deserve attention.

Let's start with the head of Secret Service.

You're the one who told me it was the same woman when you showed me that photo.

I'm specifically speaking about the woman who did nothing for 37 seconds that we know of. If that's not the same woman, you shouldn't have said that it was.

It hardly makes any matter at all. None of those women belong up there.

I'm not saying that no woman could do that job, but none of the ones they are currently employing that were there on Saturday can. Any man who behaved the way that they did would be shamed and ridiculed so much at work they'd quit before they were fired.

And all of these women WILL be fired if they haven't been already.

Also... This is not the thread where this conversation belongs.

It was only after attempting a "frame by frame", trying to ID who was where, when, that I realized that there was a second, similar woman there bc I saw her coming in from an entirely different direction. So mea culpa. I never did ID the first woman from the video. Picture too blurry for me, so I took your description as truth.

*****

Why do "none of those women belong there"?

Are you just assuming that they're 'diversity hires' and therefore (by virtue ofy your assumption) incompetent? Or do you have a SPECIFIC criticism in mind?

I've seen one job related criticism.

Yeah. They do look similar.

I know that the woman from the photo I provided and in the video are the same woman. The woman from the photo you provided when they're hoisting up Trump could very well be a different person. I just took your word on it and figured she just didn't have sunglasses in that picture.

If that is a different person in your picture, well I didn't see her in that particular video at all. Would need a different vantage point to assess that.

I know that they are diversity hires. The ONLY reason they have those jobs is because they're female. They're part of the "30% Female" push the idiot diversity hire Kimberly Cheatle swore to. Better candidates were passed up to fill a quota, by a Secret Service Director who has absolutely no clue what she is doing and was only given the job to fill a quota.

And Donald Trump almost died, with the entire Secret Service being run by a college "educated" white woman who's too worried about her programmed agenda to do her actual fucking job.

And as for me "assuming" things, buckle up buttercup. After a decade of DEI hiring everywhere in the country, everybody is worried that the people with important jobs don't know what they're doing anymore. As more events like these unfold, the more that will be blatantly clear to everyone.

The only way you know somebody is good at what they do is if they're a white male now. Because if they somehow managed to score that job when it could have been given to a "minority" for tax incentives and virtue signalling in the 2020s it means they're fucking exceptional.

All this affirmative action and DEI has done is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what they were attempting to do with it. Now you've pitted mediocre women and mediocre people of color against the best white males.

Let's see how this all goes down, shall we?

Once again, this is not the thread for this discussion.

What JOB RELATED criticism do you have of both of them as to why they shouldn't have been assigned to this every.

I already answered that question.

For the third time, this is not the thread for this discussion.

In the meantime, when something like this happens again and the women are the first to rush up and protect somebody with their lives instead of all hanging back doing nothing until the cameras come out and the coast is clear, we can talk about a woman who deserves that job.

Consider this a field test where they all failed and can go back to working behind a desk for the rest of their careers.

I've never seen a female secret service agent protecting a President or a former President before today.

If they're not Secret Service, they shouldn't be dressed exactly as the other Secret Service. If it were actually the case that idiot Cheatle actually took a few DEI girlboss goons from somewhere else and had them play Dress Up as Secret Service agents as you suggest, we have a MUCH bigger problem on our hands than we thought we did.

YEAH. They fucking FAILED. And they're extremely lucky through events outside of their control that Trump didn't die, or this would end up being much more than an embarrassing indictment on their characters and their ability to do the jobs they were given. Nobody knows their names now, and even if they did they'd likely fall out of the news cycle in a few weeks and down the memory hole. Had Trump died, we'd know every single agent's name up on that stage and people would be pouring through thousands of hours of cell phone footage for the next year.

Get them the fuck out of there.

If I were Donald Trump or Nancy Pelosi my first call to the Secret Service is that I never want any of them standing within 500 feet of a podium when I'm speaking. And that's even before I give the direct order for Cheatle to resign immediately.

Former President Donald Trump's recent attempt to curry favor with America's military families was shredded in a new analysis that found more soldiers died under his administration than President Joe Biden's, and he honored them less often.

Slate delivered this damning report after family members of fallen U.S. soldiers and Marines took to the Republican National Convention stage and blamed Biden for the deaths of those they loved and lost.

Feel free to link them.

SIX you seem to think the biggest problem is that women were there bc they were diversity hires. Given that people assigned to security detail may not have even been Secret Service,

a) your criticism may be totally unwarranted. (Not that you'd ever admit you were wrong.)

and

b) diversity hiring is FAR from the biggest problem that I see going on.

So, let's look at Cheatle. Was she a diversity hire?

Quite possibly NOT. She may be doing EXACTLY what she was hired to do and be very good at it: follow orders, and cover for her bosses. Because anybody with a sense of professionalism would buck the low staffing assigned to Trump, and RFK's complete lack of protection. There are FAR more fuckups than can be explained by "diversity hiring".

Look at Biden. He's a rich white male. Not a diverity hire. How to explain HIS incompetence, if not downright corruption and treason?

These people are hired BECAUSE they're incompetent and BECAUSE they do what they're told and BECAUSE they're corrupt, not bc they're black, or women, or whoever. Now, if they happen to tick some boxes, even better; it becomes harder to criticize a "protected class" bc they can always cry "discrimination!" But there are plenty of incompetent white men in power, too. Biden, BoJo, Starmer, Macron, Scholz .... they fail at being leaders of their nations, but they're doing exactly what they were hired to do!

That's a bigger problem.

I think we're looking at 911 writ small: LIHOP.

Manafort returns to Trump’s side. Forty-seven months in prison was too short for Manafort. And Trump reveals his ways by having him at the convention. Convicted criminals’ side by side.

Heather Cox Richardson | Jul 19, 2024

https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/july-18-2024

Paul Manafort walking onto the floor of the Republican National Convention yesterday illustrated that the Republican Party under Trump has become thoroughly corrupted into an authoritarian party aligned with foreign dictators.

Manafort first advised and then managed Trump’s 2016 campaign. A long-time Republican political operative, he came to the job after the Ukrainian people threw his client,Viktor Yanukovych out of Ukraine’s presidency in 2014. Yanukovych was backed by Russian president Vladimir Putin, who was determined to prevent Ukraine from turning toward Europe and to install a puppet government that would extend his power over the neighboring country. Beginning in 2004, Manafort had worked to install and then keep Yanukovych and his party in power. His efforts won him a fortune thanks to his new friends, especially Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska. Then in 2014, after months of popular protests, Ukrainians ousted Yanukovych from power in what is known as the Revolution of Dignity.

Yanukovych fled to Russia, and Putin invaded Ukraine’s Crimea and annexed it, prompting the United States and the European Union to impose economic sanctions on Russia itself and also on specific Russian businesses and oligarchs, prohibiting them from doing business in United States territories. These sanctions crippled Russia and froze the assets of key Russian oligarchs.

Now without his main source of income, Manafort owed about $17 million to Deripaska. By 2016, his longtime friend and business partner Roger Stone was advising Trump’s floundering presidential campaign, and Manafort stepped in to remake it. He did not take a salary but reached out to Deripaska through one of his Ukrainian business partners, Russian operative Konstantin Kilimnik, immediately after landing the job, asking Kilimnik how “we” could use the appointment “to get whole,” and he made sure that the Russian oligarch to whom he owed the most money knew about his close connection with the Trump campaign.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s 2019 report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election explained at least one answer: Manafort and Kilimnick “discussed a plan to resolve the ongoing political problems in Ukraine by creating an autonomous republic in its more industrialized eastern region of Donbas, and having Yanukovych…elected to head that republic.” The report continued: “That plan, Manafort later acknowledged, constituted a ‘backdoor’ means for Russia to control eastern Ukraine.”

This policy was the exact opposite of official U.S. policy for a free and united Ukraine. Russia worked to help Trump win the White House, and immediately after his election, according to the Republican-dominated Senate Intelligence Committee, Kilimnick wrote that “all that is required to start the process is a very minor ‘wink’ (or slight push) from D[onald] T[rump] saying ‘he wants peace in Ukraine and Donbass back in Ukraine’ and a decision to be a ‘special representative’ and manage this process.” The email went on to say that once then–Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko understood this “message” from the United States, the process “will go very fast and DT could have peace in Ukraine basically within a few months after inauguration.”

The investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia slowed the consummation of this plan, and strong bipartisan support for Ukraine threw a monkey wrench into the works, prompting Trump’s cronies to try to smear Ukraine as the country that interfered in the 2016 U.S. election, a story that began to come out during Trump’s first impeachment hearing. Biden’s election meant an abrupt end to Russia’s quiet absorption of Ukraine’s eastern region, and in February 2022, Putin simply invaded the country and then claimed that the people there had voted to join Russia.

Trump seemed to bring this back up at a CNN event in June in which, referring to Putin’s invasion of eastern Ukraine in February 2022, he said: “Putin saw that, he said, you know what, I think we’re going to go in and maybe take my—this was his dream. I talked to him about it, his dream.” Trump has said he has a plan for “peace” in Ukraine that will stop the war in a day.

Republican vice presidential pick J.D. Vance is wildly inexperienced for such a position, but he has been staunchly in favor of ending U.S. assistance to Ukraine and was the pick of that party faction. Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov cheered Vance’s nomination, saying: “He’s in favor of peace, he’s in favor of ending the assistance that’s being provided and we can only welcome that because that’s what we need—to stop pumping Ukraine full of weapons and then the war will end.” Russia needs this sort of help, for just this week Ukraine forced it to remove its last remaining patrol ship from occupied Crimea (when the 2022 invasion began, it held most of its 74 Black Sea Fleet warships at ports there).

Manafort was convicted of a slew of criminal charges for his work with Ukraine and obstruction of the investigation into the connections between the Trump campaign and Russian operatives, and was serving a seven-year sentence when Trump pardoned him in December 2020. Now he is back at the center of Trump’s MAGA Party.

Before 2016 the Republican Party stood staunchly against Russia, and getting Republican voters to forget that history required adopting the argument of Hungarian prime minister Viktor Orbán, who is aligned with Putin and Trump, that democracy has ruined the United States. In this argument, the central principle of democracy—that all people must be equal before the law, and have a right to a say in their government—destroys a country by making women, people of color, immigrants, members of religious minorities, and LGBTQ+ individuals equal to heteronormative white men and permitting them to influence government. In place of democracy, they want to impose their version of Christianity on the nation, banning abortion, rejecting immigrants, and curtailing the rights of gender, religious, and ethnic minorities.

Josh Kovensky and John Light of Talking Points Memo picked up that in his speech at the Republican convention last night, Vance pushed back against President Joe Biden’s traditional idea that America is an idea, tying it instead to a place and a people. As Kovensky and Light note, this is “a somewhat-quiet, somewhat-obvious dog whistle, gesturing toward the idea there are, as some on the far-right contend, ‘heritage Americans,’” native-born Americans who have a deeper understanding than newcomers of what this country means. That view of nationhood is commonplace elsewhere, Kovensky and Light note, but its absence in the U.S. “has long made our country exceptional.”

This nationalist concept is at the heart of MAGA attacks on immigrants, which were in full display at the convention yesterday. From the podium yesterday, Thomas Homan, director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for Trump’s first two years in office, told undocumented immigrants: “You better start packing to go home.” Trump has promised to round up 11 million migrants (although he claims there are 18 million) currently living in the U.S., put them in camps, and deport them. There were actually preprinted signs at the convention for attendees to wave, which they did with apparent enthusiasm. The signs said: “MASS DEPORTATION NOW!”

The convention has also emphasized its opposition to women’s rights. Trump, who has proudly claimed responsibility for the Supreme Court’s overturning of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision recognizing abortion as a constitutional right, walked out last night to the song “It’s a Man’s World.” By focusing on the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which gives Congress the power to enforce it, as the protector of “Life,” the Republican platform covertly endorses a national abortion ban.

Their rejection of democracy requires a strongman at the head of the government, and in Milwaukee that man is Trump, who will be the first convicted criminal nominated for president by a major party. He was convicted for trying to tip the 2016 election by hiding payments to an adult-film actress after they had sex, in order to keep the story from voters.

Conference attendees are honoring Trump with large bandages on their right ear as a tribute to an injury he sustained in a shooting attempt on Saturday, although—and this is very weird—there has been no information about that injury aside from his own comments and those of his inner circle, a lack the press seems willing to ignore despite their deep interest in every piece of medical information from President Biden. As he did at his criminal trial in Manhattan, Trump keeps nodding off to sleep at the convention.

The theme of the party has been unity, but that unity depends on everyone lauding Trump. Gone are the establishment Republicans that ran the party before 2016; even longer gone are the traditional Republicans who were chased out of the party in the 1990s as “Republicans in Name Only” because they believed government had a role to play in the economy and did not see tax cuts as the solution to everything. In the Philadelphia Inquirer, Will Bunch wrote: “Here in Milwaukee, the political pundits finally saw the thing they’ve been pleading for—unity—and what that really looks like. It looks a lot like Jonestown,” where a cult leader took the lives of his followers in 1978.

In 1959, veteran Robert Biggs wrote to Republican president Dwight D. Eisenhower, who had led the Allied forces in Europe during World War II, asking the president to make “direct statements” that would give people the confidence to “back him completely.” Americans needed “more of the attitude of a commanding officer who knows the goal and the mission and states, without evasion, the way it is to be done.”

Eisenhower answered that “in a democracy debate is the breath of life. This is to me what Lincoln meant by government ‘of the people, by the people, and for the people.’”

“Dictatorial systems make one contribution to their people which leads them to tend to support such systems—freedom from the necessity of informing themselves and making up their own minds concerning…tremendous complex and difficult questions,” Eisenhower wrote. “But while this responsibility is a taxing one to a free people it is their great strength as well—from millions of individual free minds come new ideas, new adjustments to emerging problems, and tremendous vigor, vitality and progress…. While complete success will always elude us, still it is a quest which is vital to self-government and to our way of life as free men.”

They don't understand that there is NO WAY you can coordinate Trump and the shooter so closely so as to just nick an ear. WTF are these people thinking? They're nuts.

SECRET SERVICE REPEATEDLY DENIED TRUMP EXTRA PROTECTION

Quote:

"Liar": Secret Service Busted, "Repeatedly" Denied Trump Security Requests

Last Sunday, one day after the Trump assassination attempt, Secret Service spox Anthony Guglielmi insisted that it was an "untrue assertion" that Trump's campaign was denied additional security resources, calling it "absolutely false."

"In fact, we added protective resources & technology & capabilities as part of the increased campaign travel tempo," he continued in a post on X.

Guglielmi doubled down three hours later, telling RealClearPolitics' White House correspondent Susan Crabtree that her report on diverted resources was "very wrong."

What's more, "Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who has been under pressure to resign over security lapses at the rally, repeated that denial in a meeting with Trump campaign leadership in Wisconsin on Monday," according to the Washington Post.

Fast forward to Saturday, and the Washington Post reveals that they lied.

According to the new report, "Top officials at the U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional resources and personnel sought by Donald Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, according to four people familiar with the requests."

Agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty teams at other outdoor events, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive security discussions. The requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency, who cited various reasons, including a lack of resources at an agency that has long struggled with staffing shortages, they said.

Those rejections — in response to requests that were several times made in writing — led to long-standing tensions that pitted Trump, his top aides and his security detail against Secret Service leadership, as Trump advisers privately fretted that the vaunted security agency was not doing enough to protect the former president.

The Secret Service, after initially denying turning down requests for additional security, is now acknowledging some may have been rejected. The revelation comes as agency veterans say the organization has been forced to make difficult decisions amid competing demands, a growing list of protectees and limited funding. -WaPo

After WaPo confronted Guglielmi, he said that the agency 'had learned new information indicating the agency’s headquarters may have in fact denied some requests for additional security from Trump’s detail," something he should have probably checked before be lied.
...

According to the WaPo report, a Secret Service official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said that the agency has finite resources, and has to juggle competing demands - particularly for countersnipers, counterassault teams, and teams of uniformed division officers.

So - it appears they gave Trump the Temu team because they were spread too thin.

To be fair, the only race outside of their own that the Chinese tolerate are white people. It's why Disney has to minimize the roles of black people in their movies in all Chinese advertisements.

SIX you seem to think the biggest problem is that women were there bc they were diversity hires. Given that people assigned to security detail may not have even been Secret Service,

Here's the bottom line, Sigs.

ALL women hires are now suspect.

ALL minority hires are now suspect.

And no, I'm not talking about local small businesses here. The black guy at the barbershop is the best guy to give you a haircut in town. I'm sure your waiter or waitress and the cooks are just fine at any local restaurant. I'm talking about the big companies that get major money not only from government tax dollars, but huge influxes of DEI cash from BlackRock and Vanguard for hiring anybody other than white males.

This has all gone on for long enough now that there is no other responsible way for a manager or president or board member of a company to look at it if their goal is improving the bottom line. (And that includes by any female or minority managers, presidents and board members who are worth a damn).

Now we have to start weeding out a lot of people who never belonged where they're at in the first place.

That process doesn't start with white males, because if you're a white male with a decent job in 2024 it means that you're either quite exceptional at it, or you're quite an exceptional liar and/or you're quite exceptionally charismatic. I'll just say now with absolute certainty that any quiet white nerdy type dude working anywhere decent deserves that spot 99.9999% of the time in 2024.

And now all the fuckups are going to be immediately assumed by most to have been due to a person who was put in a position that didn't deserve it and/or wasn't capable of handling it in the first place. And that's just how it's going to be for a very long time now until this problem gets fixed.

I'm not the bad guy here. I'm just the pragmatist.

And it wasn't that long ago that DEI killed all of those people in that submersible. And then people found video footage of how proud that dead owner was that he was hiring such a diverse team despite them not having the experience that others (who were white and ex-military) had.

He wasn't even supposed to be in that sub on that day. But it was Juneteenth week, you see... Somebody was out partying too hard the night before and forgot they had a submersible to pilot the next morning.

If that ends up being true, the world was just treated to a call in to the Harris campaign yesterday that was either AI generated Joe Biden* speaking, or it's his side of a 2 sided conversation that was recorded weeks or even months ago just in case something like this were to happen.

The fact that Harris said "I know you're still on the re" and quickly stated "It know you're still on the phone, Joe" made some people think she was about to say recording.

This was NOT the Joe Biden of the last six months. His speech was brisk and on target, and if he had sounded the same during the debate we wouldn't be here now.

Right?

It's hard to even be a conspiracy theorist in 2024 when they're so fucking blatant about everything now.

It's actually kind of scary when the government decides the ROI of pretending to be a legitimate organization that is good for the people just isn't even worth bothering with anymore.

And P.S. This is the first time I've listened to that with headphones. I thought she just said "re" before she started the sentence over again. She actually got as far as "reco" before changing it up. I was giving the benefit of the doubt before, but you can't even deny she was going to say recording.

Jesus Christ.

Well. We all know Kamala is a fucking idiot. At least everyone who isn't a Democrat sycophant that denied Joe Biden*'s mental decline for the last 4 years does.

They're in for a very rude awakening when Kamala is at the forefront and can't be hidden away from the public like they've done with her the last 4 years. They won't have an excuse for hiding her away like they did with AARP card-carrying Joe*, and the public is going to find out real quick that the lights are on but nobody is home.

And I think that's going to be displayed regardless of whether or not Joe* resigns, dies, is already actually dead or in hospice. People are going to want to see a leader now... ANY leader, after we all got a peek behind the curtain. We can't have an America without somebody at the helm until January 20th. Especially not with all the current global turmoil that Democrats are responsible for.

Expect to see a LOT more of Kamala starting next week. It will be hilarious to watch.

So, I guess this past month could be titled The Month of the Long Knives (and, bullets).

Oh BTW I think what we see going on is just a tiny fraction of all the ugliness behind the curtain.

Here is one example: Jake Sullivan and Antony Blinken both had deeply, DEEPLY vested interests in a Biden* Presidency. Not only was he likely to approve any damn fool neocon proposal they suggested to him, their personal careers and any power that came with it were directly tied to him. He appointed them, after all. How long were they covering for him, puppeteering him? I suspect from the very beginning.

But who were THEY representing?

Biden "dad" could protect his family from prosecution for all of their grift, as long as he remained in office. So, was "Dr" Jill Biden flogging him to keep going?

There was clearly ANOTHER faction deposing Joe. (Rightly so, he was incompetent.) Obama is presumed to be the most immediate driver, mediated by the NYT. What is the purpose?
I also believe they were responsible for Trump's attempted assassination.
More later.

That's assuming any of it is actually real and/or anybody telling anybody they got it all figured out is even right.

IMO, they show us EXACTLY what they want to show us. At all times. And there actually have been no mistakes made here. It's going all according to somebody's grand plan. Just not anybody we're looking at or talking about.

Nobody is omnipotent, so it can't all go according to Plan A, but they've got enough resources to have a plan A through Z and then start going into Hexidecimal if they wanted to before they run out of options or ways out of bad situations.

Anybody who thinks that the obviously SERIOUSLY dysfunctional group of people who call themselves Democrats are the ones who have been running the show here the last few years are mental. But yeah... It sure looks like they fucked up.

We know the means. What's the end?

And I don't mean to scare anybody with ideas like that. Even if they were true, you shouldn't spend any time worrying about them. Ain't nothing you or anybody you know or anybody you've ever met in your life or seen on TV could do about any of it.

And I don't know about you, but my life is pretty copacetic. Until somebody gives me a real reason to worry about any of it, I see no reason to rock this boat. I can only assume that most people in this country outside of maybe the homeless or the truly suicidal still got enough to lose where there's no reason to be rocking their own boats either...

We still have agency. We still have free will. Sometimes it may seem like it's harder than it should be to exercise either of them, but most of those are limitations that we put on ourselves, mostly because of ingrained behavior patterns that were drilled into us when we were young.

And, at least for the most part, I believe the laws that do govern our behaviors in America are still reasonable. I'd like them to stop policing speech, and would abhor any legislation that makes saying certain things a crime (outside of screaming fire in a theater or "I got a bomb" or something similar on a plane). Of course corporate law is a fuckin' joke and who knows if we're ever going to do anything to stop frivolous lawsuits that end up with multi-million payouts just because. I have a real problem with property taxes too. But other than that, I think most of the laws on the books dictating the way that people carry themselves in public are reasonable. I enjoy living in a time where things like murder and rape and robbery against me aren't really things I have to worry much about. The amount of time in human history where people had that feeling is about a blink of an eye in the scheme of things. And I'd imagine quite a large percentage of the total land in the world is host to people who still have to worry about all those things.

Buck up, Buttercups.

Just because the politics and the media have gotten crazy in the last few years, don't mean that all the rest of us have to follow them down to the funny farm.
