Quote:

Paul Pelosi, the 86-year-old husband of Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), is facing a hit-and-run investigation in Napa County after allegedly slamming into a parked car and driving off as if nothing happened.

According to the Napa County Sheriff's Office, an eyewitness in Yountville called 911 around 2:30 p.m. Friday after watching a convertible strike a parked car, pause for a moment, then take off.

Pelosi drove the convertible, which was later found a short distance away, disabled at the exact intersection where Napa County busted him for driving under the influence in 2022.

You can't make this stuff up.

Pelosi told investigators he "felt" he had hit something but claimed he didn't know what it was, so he kept driving anyway. He kept going until his car "became disabled and was no longer to continue driving," the sheriff's office said, at which point he had no choice but to stop.

An alcohol screening device found no booze in his system this time, and he wasn't arrested. The sheriff's office says the case will go to the Napa County District Attorney's Office for review. The sheriff's office also confirmed it is submitting a DMV re-evaluation referral form for Pelosi, a step it described as standard practice for elderly drivers. ABC News reports he faces a hit-and-run charge, but I’m skeptical he’ll face any consequences.

No attorney is listed for Pelosi so far, and neither he nor Nancy Pelosi has commented publicly. A spokesperson for the Pelosi family did tell the Daily Mail that Paul had "personally apologized to the owner of the vehicle and assured them that he would take responsibility for the damage to their vehicle," adding that the former speaker "will not be commenting further on this private matter."

Wow, he apologized. Justice has been served!

The latest incident marks the second time Pelosi has been busted by cops in Yountville, having previously been arrested for a DUI in 2022.

On that occasion, he was hauled off to jail after crashing his 2021 Porsche on the way home from a dinner party in nearby Oakville.

The smash, which saw him collide with a vehicle driven by a man called Jesus Lopez, left him unharmed but did see him booked on charges of being over the legal limit.

He later pleaded guilty and was handed three years’ probation by a Napa County judge.

Pelosi’s checkered history of crashing cars also includes a more serious wreck when he was a teenager that killed his brother David, then 19.

Pelosi was just 16 and a high school sophomore when his sports car flipped over in February 1957.

Make no mistake about it, this is what accountability looks like when your last name carries enough weight in Napa County. An ordinary driver who plows into a parked car, flees the scene, and gets caught blocks away doesn't get a polite referral to the DA's office. He gets handcuffed on the spot. But Paul Pelosi isn't an ordinary driver because he’s married to Democrat royalty, and so he plays by a different rulebook entirely.

The bottom line is this: Paul Pelosi skated on his DUI, and he'll skate on this, too. That's just how it works when you're a Pelosi.

You and your bitch wife have made hundreds of millions of dollars insider trading and everyone knows it.

The fact that you use your drunk-driven car as a weapon against everyone else so fucking frequently leads me to believe that you don't give a shit about anybody but yourself. And you've been doing it for almost 70 fucking years after you killed your brother with your addiction.

And you can't even spend $50 per night of all that money you stole to keep your worthless, 86 year old, drunk-by-noon ass off the fucking road?

FUCK YOU, PAUL.

Lock him up and throw away the key.

He needs to take a re-evaluation test on his driving and it sounds like have his license revoked.

Up here in BC, I think it is over the age of 60 before they can get their license again. They have to do a special test to see if they are still qualified to drive. And I would hope it includes all connected to government officials up here.

Yeah....

But we know, Brenda.

He's not going to have to do any of that. Nancy is going to pay somebody off to fill out all the appropriate paperwork and Paul will be right back on the road.

Maybe he kills somebody next time.

That is very true SIX. And some member of the family will pay everything off.

Truthfully, I doubt it would have mattered if he had killed someone. Horrible thing to say but the rich can just get away with things. That you and I would be brought up on charges for.

I just can't believe there aren't at least some low-hanging fruit that they'd offer up just every once in a while to make people at least feel like there isn't a two-tiered justice system.

Yeah... You get the rare scapegoat whenever something so big and bad happens that somebody absolutely has to go down for it, but little things like this that would see people like us lose our ability to drive for a year, possibly only with the ability to use it to go to and from work and possibly even some jail time.

He crashed his car that costs more than both of us ever made on our best year combined and multiplied by 3, on a holiday, after a lifetime of alcohol abuses and charges including killing his older brother. Then he tried driving away until the car wouldn't move any further and told the cops he thought he might have hit something, but didn't know what it was. But he blew a clean breathalyzer.

Either the cops are lying or Paul is doing other drugs that make him blackout. It's one of those two, or he was completely sober and still did something that should preclude him from ever driving himself again for the rest of his life, at the very least.

And the way things have been going in my country for at least a decade on top of generations of corruption, I doubt very much even that is going to happen.

He'd better not do it again, and he damn sure better not kill somebody when he does.

You would think so.

That's true too. Not just loosing the ability to drive for however long or jail time. Could even just be a huge ticket or fine that could just about cover a new car.

Didn't know about the brother but his drug and alcohol abuse is known. Yeah, the news said he had driven as far as he could. Huh. The breathalyzer wasn't mentioned. That would leave a blood or urine test but I think you need a warrant for those. I could be wrong.

If he was straight maybe it was some sort of medical thing that made him crash. Don't know and I doubt we ever will. Here in BC, I think you have to be say seizure free for around a year if you want to drive. But again I could be wrong.

I hear you.

Yeah... They said "An alcohol screening device found no booze in his system this time, and he wasn't arrested." in the article, although they didn't specify a breathalyzer specifically. I'm not really sure what else that could mean, but I don't live in California and I'm not exactly hip with the times on that issue. My last opportunity to get a breathalyzer was probably almost 20 years ago now.

You can refuse a breathalyzer on site, but I believe that's a national minimum of a 6 month suspension of your drivers license if you do not submit to one. In my state it's 1 year and they won't even let you file for a "hardship" license which allows you to go to work and back. Probably now only if you pay the costs and allow them to put a device on your car that won't let you start it unless you breath into the device and you don't have any alcohol in you.

Aside from that though, the cops can pretty much do whatever they want with you at that point. Forget about crashing the car even. If they pulled you over for any erratic behavior that may indicate you're intoxicated on one substance or the other, they can arrest you and impound your car even if you pass a booze only testing device if you're clearly incapable of driving your car safely. They can arrest you. They can get your fingerprints. They can keep you overnight or all weekend until you can get a court case if they really want to be dicks and/or you were being VERY difficult with them.

They're just not going to do it because of who he is. I'll bet he called Nancy immediately and if she didn't drive her ass right there to pick him up, she at least got Paul to hand the phone over to one of the cops so she could talk to him while she sent one of their "helpers" to go and get him. The car probably didn't even get impounded either, and they let him park it on the curb where it was until somebody came to pick it up. "Oh... and remember, boys... You forgot to turn your body cams back on after lunch. You really ought to stop doing that before you get a dock in your pay."

Look at the news source. Nobody is even bothering to report on it. It probably doesn't even make Fox News other than a joke on Gutfeld if anything.

I know about refusing the breath test but not much else on that.

Okay thanks SIX. I didn't know all of that. Mind what I know about certain American laws and what is what in different states, you can put on the head of a pin.

Oh, I'm sure they called Nancy right away and I'm sure she spoke to the cops as well. It was the old "We'll let you off with a warning" type thing.

That being said about him. A good number of years ago now a Premier of my province was down in Hawaii on vacation I believe. He and his wife were at a friends place and they got pretty bombed. Friend offered to let them stay at his place. Premier's wife did the smart thing and accepted the offer.

Premier not so smart. He decided that he could drive back to their hotel. Well, he got pulled over, breath tested and was way over the limit. He was hauled in and finger printed. The cops had no idea who they had just picked up for DUI.

His driver's license would have just given his name and address not occupation. Finger prints showed nothing down there and they saw he was from Canada. Finger prints sent to BC and boy did they get a shock.

This dumb cluck was Gordon Campbell. Major, major embarrassment to BC. For a while there we were the laughing stock of the whole country.

No, he didn't. At least in his impaired state he knew enough that no cop down there was going to know who he was.

Man, when he got back to BC and especially Victoria. He was busy dodging reporters as much as he could. But the one thing he couldn't dodge was question period in the legislature. His own party was shocked and the opposition just went right after him.

I never forgot about any of it.

I blame Trump for that.

Now if my suspicions that he's got a whole lot planned that he's not letting any of us in on, that's one thing.

But if there isn't any plan and we're walking into mid-terms still mired in high gas prices and Iran with the idiots over in Russia and Ukraine still doing their thing, the quality of living hasn't improved at all for most American citizens since he was inaugurated (he only stopped the bleeding), Epstien files were called a hoax by him now, Fauci isn't going to prison and nobody is going to be held accountable for Covid, fucking Paul can't even get a DUI when he's clearly finally deserving of one after all these years....

Well... I don't really know what's going to happen yet. Still way too many variables.

But midterms weren't even supposed to be a factor to worry about in the slightest. Trump had the media and the Democratic Party on their knees. Approval for the party had never been lower in history than it was that first year of Trump's 2nd term.

We shouldn't be looking at what is essentially another goddamned coin flip after you factor out all the Lefty media bias in the polling.

But here we are.

Fucking around in Iran for going on half a year while we're dropping the ball here in the states.

B.C. premier fined for drunk driving

British Columbia's premier was fined $913 US (about $1,350 Cdn) Monday after pleading no contest to a drunk driving charge in Hawaii. Gordon Campbell was not in the court for the hearing. He was represented by a lawyer, who paid the penalty on his behalf. The premier was also ordered to take part in a 14-hour substance abuse program, and undergo an assessment for alcoholism. His lawyer said Campbell has already completed both in Canada.

Second unless a Canadian politician is known well across the country or has done something stupid like Campbell they are basically forgotten. Some former premiers have come back to take up posts in this government now but they have stepped down. Sometimes they are asked what the now Premier is in their opinion is doing wrong.

There is no harm in that as they were opposition at the time. A couple of others have been talked to about different issues in BC. And Campbell only once.

Mary Simon the former Governor General of Canada has stepped back to let the new one make their mark.

Premier David Eby has people grousing at him. NDP ratings are low amongst British Columbians. Have to see what the next election brings.

So really no different than you down there.

Thank you for the time as I just remembered it was a good number of years ago.
