http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/09/20/boeing.bordercontract.ap/index.html

Is this another of Geezer's 'and the system works again' or something more nefarious?

Is this to keep people out or prevent those opposed to the current administration from escaping Bush's grasp (or the draft)?

Is this the end of unlimited cheap smokes for Canadians and unlimited cheap everything else for Americans?

Were the bid and contract processes followed correctly or did Boeing have the inside track?

Will the resources be split evenly between both borders or will a bulk of the resources be used to keep an eye on us Canadians?

Will port security and airline security be next on the list?

Please feel free to discuss.

Starting a thread to stir stuff up.

ANTIMASON

i think its yet another front for something else. they dont want to secure the borders, in a traditional sense.. they want to process the borders; i think the new SPPA NAFTA highway kind of undermines any intended border security, what with giving free access to the whole of the Americas. id really like to see them protect Americas sovereignty then, since its difficult enough right now, without a freakin super corridor connected to us

thats where the "war on terror" comes in. the REAL ID act, with its biometrics RFID tracking system is their brainchild solution; theyll just track everyone in the country, tap phone calls, search private records... thats the future of national security; its more focused on US rather than THEM

it should be obvious by now.. but the goal is a one world government, so naturally sovereignty is an obstacle to this agenda.

the worse part is that we are so blindingly ignorant of this scheme that we deny its existence, while the truth is right in front of our eyes

DREAMTROVE

I'm going to weigh in here from my new lurker status to rant on this one.

The border fence is a truly appalling idea. Anyone who thinks this is about keeping mexicans out is sadly mistaken. The Bush administration has no interest at all in keeping mexicans out, they are cheap labor.

This fence is about the new USSA. If anyone has missed this little detail, virtually every legal action of the Bush administration, whether intentionally or not, has taken America closer to becoming the new Soivet Union. An armed border fence was one of the things which made the USSR special. Its purpose: to keep Soviets in.

The most basic right of a free society is the ability to leave. This right, alone, if allowed for every society on earth would ultimately solve all injustice. If an more unjust society existed, people would just leave for a less unjust one. Each unjust or questionable society would have to stuggle to keep members in, giving concessions, freedoms, benefits, until ultimately, a basic level or freedom from oppression would be universal.

Stopping the citizens of California from going to Mexico is more than just a hypothetical nightmare police state keeping its slave population, it's about the real world situation. border-communtes, border-business, is all big business in San Diego right now. You can bet there's a whole lot of people who want to see that end, not the least of which is the US govt, who loses not only tax revenue, but more importantly control. It's hard to ban cheap drugs and alternative medicine if someone can just cross the border and pick it up.

Ultimately, the border fence is the first attempt to assault our absolutely more fundamental right, the right to be free. They are starting to build a cage around you, and no matter what they say about keeping someone else out... think about it. That's not generally why cages are built.

While I am certainley not a fan of 'big brother', I think there needs to be some sort of balance struck. There have been homegrown terrorist threats in several countries. The line between some people's right to privacy versus other people's right to life is razor sharp. If only those people who would do harm to other's would submit to RFID implants, than the rest of us could live in privacy and security.

Posting to stir stuff up.

the problem is, the NWO is the creation of a global governemnt and plantation... if we dont force a reform of the third world, then we are doomed to be consumed by them. i do not want to be an indentured servant.. but the elite are creating such a scenario by forcing free trade and globalism on us. how can we survive as a soveriegn nation, if we allow uninhibited access to America? everybody in the southern Americas would pour in here for work.. then wed have to reconcile our economy with Mexicos, which means to level the living standards

we wouldnt need a wall if the elite desired to solve the issue of global poverty and social/monetary inequality... but they dont, and they wont; because it is not in their self interest. instead, it is their plan, as evidenced by the NAFTA corridor, to engineer a steady supply of slave labor and to usurp the American middle class. besides that, it would require uniform government policy...and a common currency, which is in essence the evolution of a global government. this is exactly what ive been warning you all about, and a border, while arbitrary, atleast emphasises that we are still a sovereign nation.
