It would probably go a long way to help the country be peaceful as women always increase peacefulness. Take for example how when the navy ships only allowed males onboard, how much swearing, ogaling and how rough it was on those vessels. Now females are serving on the navy ships, the male sailors don't fight, ogal and curse as much. Treating women equally has created a lot more peace on the ships in the navy. Having women and men working, praying and standing along side each other is something that could help Iraq become peaceful. Dood you need to find some peace.

Mazen, I lived in the middle east from 2000-2003. Iraq, Syria, and Turkey...I had a Turkish wife with relatives in those places. I can tell you for sure, they are 1910 right now, they still see NO options to the Matriarchal home structure. My ex wife was a renegade, she wore western clothing, showed cleavage, went to school as a biology major, and married me! Everyone in her family was ashamed of me and her behavior. The women over there are not exposed to equality, on TV or otherwise. They need thier own sort of Gloria Steinem, but they won't trust someone from the outside. Anyway, you're on the right track about how equality for them would be benficial. Me, find peace?,...the difference between a fire and Iraq is that Nobody wants the fire to go on. And the abortion analogy....whatever If you're not on Malbadinlatin's side, you're with the terrorists.

I do think I may have some input of value ony because I heard it straight from the Kurds over and over again. Men in that part of the world LOVE to talk politics, and it's always the first topic raised when you sit down for some tea. The Kurds believe that they got short changed after the Ottomans got reduced. Nobody cared about the Anatolian highlands they lived on. All the sudden Turkey became paranoid that they would form a homeland in eastern Turkey, and because the Turks had gone from Ottoman Empire stretching from Vienna to Persia, to little ol' Turkey, they thought they'd go militarily make sure the Kurds didn't take any more territory after they'd been humiliated so. That lead to atrocities, and counter atrocities that come and go to this day. Long story short, the only thing Kurds want is to be left alone. Nobody has claim to thier lands like in the Isreal situation, it's just a god awefull shitty mess of paranoia. A great analogy is if Turkey were a guy who lost his house to forclosure, went to a bar and got his ass kicked, then went home and kicked his dog. I feel the Kurds are oppressed, and the ones I met were gracious family folk like 99% of middle easterners Anyway, that's my opinion, thanks for asking Gino If you're not on Malbadinlatin's side, you're with the terrorists.

I know they do not represent all Kurdish, but it does enflame the problems. Another problem for Turkey is the Armenians. They also have issues with Turkey, and with the breakup of the Soviet Union are making themselves heard more and more.
