"The Brooklyn cyclone hopscotched through Bay Ridge and Sunset Park, first touching down about 6:30 a.m.

The path of destruction was stunning. Crushed cars. Giant trees yanked from the ground. Roofs peeled away. It was one of the most powerful storms in city history."

What's next? Locusts?

It happens.

From CNN.com
Quote:

Though rare, tornadoes have struck in or near the five boroughs of New York City. Most recently, a tornado touched down on the New York City borough of Staten Island on October 27, 2003, according to the New York City Office of Emergency Management.

Why is it the liberals are going back to worshipping nature? Earthquakes, fire, tornados...we must have offended the God of Global Warming.

Truth is sometimes it rains, sometimes it don't. Sometimes it snows, sometimes not so much. Sometimes the wind blows...

"Sometimes the wind blows..." and sometimes Hero does, too.

I just couldn't resist that. It was too easy.

THIS...IS...BROOKLYNNNNN!!!!!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Worst part was the heavy rains knowed out the subway system. For New Yorkers, that is apocalyptic.

Meh, at least it's a little bit cleaner, right ?

I'm surprised that in high-rise cities we don't have even stranger stuff happening, at least on a micro scale - there's an alley between two buildings down in the Univ of Kentucky that for whatever reason, is an ice cold wind tunnel even on a hot summer day, for the most part.

But what I know about meteorology would fit in a thimble with room to spare - I did ask one, once, about where these weather patterns were gonna go, in houston, back in 1997, and his advice was to move straight north and stay off the coasts, and since I was planning a move anyway, that's where I went.. in retrospect, smart move, one of my buddies at the time moved to new orleans..

There's a benefit to living smack in the middle of michigan - inclement weather other than freezin yo ass off is rare.

MISSTRESSAHARA

We had a hail storm up here in Winnipeg last night, following 2 months of an intense heat wave. Broken trees, power lines, destroyed trailer homes. The wind even tossed a few freight cars around and damaged lots of cars in lots. Estimated damage is in the millions. One of the trees outside our house lost a limb (fortunately it blew onto the sidewalk) This following a wind storm two weeks ago that took down our neighbors old oak and nearly destroyed part of her house and ours. And this has been the highest rate of tornado's we've had. Up until a few years ago tornado's were nearly non existent.

Freaky deaky weather. Least wise to me. Now I hear about a tornado over there? *whoa*, is the best word to use in this situation.

Yep. That's what twisters do. Tear stuff up. NYC isn't so special that it can't get those once in a while.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss
