Yes. He's "suspending his campaign", which is how John Edwards described it when he dropped out.

This is great news! Romney's a flip-flopping, military-bashing, chickenhawk douche!

Hey, maybe Romney's really a Uniter! People all over America are rejoicing at the news that he quit.

And remember, when the going gets tough... QUIT!

He also bleeding staff and support like a hemorrhage, as word gets around of where all that money came from.

He's only suspending, rather than dropping out, cause he wants to pocket those delegates and see if he can use them to bounce fellow religious fanatic Huck-aberry over McCain, whom he dislikes rather intensely - a feeling entirely mutual since McCain's personal experiences with the "treatment regimen" Romney supports for teens tend to give him a dim view of Romneys best friends and top financiers, at the very least.

I find his restraint in being able to cohabit the same room with the man and not kick his ass quite admirable, although admittedly I do not like McCain or his positions, particularly taking AIPAC money to support their agenda rather than the american peoples.

But then, as compared to Billary and Obamalama, a nettle sandwich is more preferable than a poison pill, but only by so much...

Oh I think he's a decent guy, that's the problem.

Know what happens when you elect decent people with little experience into our political system ?

They get steamrollered, blindsided, and blocked in by the opposition - remember, I supported Jennifer Granholm for MI Governer, and she's a great person, fantastic lawyer... not so much a politician.

The budget crisis up here was started by an outright lie, that our budget was sucking wind - and she took that on face value, see...

This was followed up by the folks she assigned the job of fixing that NOT doing so, quite deliberately, to cause a phony crisis and force unwanted and unpopular tax increases - and it was inconceivable to her that someone employed by the state to do a job would sandbag it, the state and the people, for political gain, she was totally blindsided by it.

And then when the truth finally DID come out, that we had a budget *surplus* rather than a deficit, thanks in great part to her teams cutting a lot of that Rethug pork, what did they do by try to porkbarrel it and actively fight any reduction of the fuel tax here to give some relief to us peons!

Add in the usual bag of political dirty tricks and universally Rethug-friendly media, and the lady is swamped under trying to do a job where everyone SHOULD be on board, but is instead poking holes in the boat - and she's not nasty enough to start throwing them overboard.

Obama is too nice, doesn't have a lot of the necessary contacts to get things done outside the system (as fucked up as our system is, sometimes you NEED those to get ANYTHING done) and doesn't have the experience or ruthlessness to do anything but get pilloried by the established, firmly entrenched, NeoCon Cabalists.

Ron Paul may not be mean, but he's got a spine of stainless steel and cojones of iridium, not many candidates have the gall to tell the special-country-that-shall-not-be-named to piss up a rope when they come begging even more money.

And he has the ability to generate massive popular support very rapidly, one reason the mainstream media has practically blacklisted him.

Ron WOULD start pitchin people off the boat for poking holes in it, anyone sandbagging or sabotaging would find that when it comes to UnConstitutional behavior, the man has no more mercy than a freshly chummed shark.

And that is why he scares the crap out of them, cause like River... he's not safe... for THEM.

Hate to see him go, but it's a smart move.

Hearing McCain at the C-PAC, it seems like he "gets" it. Here's to hoping he continues staying on message.

I listened to the C-PAC speech today and thought it was pretty good. He really didn't have to prove anything to me, because on the things that matter to me he's a strong conservative. My problem with him has always just been that his personality rubs me the wrong way. I hope he will pick a Vice-President that C-PAC will approve of. That would really help to unite the the party.

Kwicko has played us well, and I did notice that he made more than a few 'sweeping generalizations', but didn't get that that's what he was goofing on consistently. Good on him! We need to open our eyse moer.

Yes, that comparison did indeed occur to me too.

And while I respect Carter a lot, moreso for his post-presidency activities, as he seemed to not give up on the job when he was out of office...

He wasn't ruthless enough to "get it done" while he was in - Nor is Obama, and while *I* have no problem with the mans ethnicity, I am fully aware that half the bible belt and the deep south DOES, and will sandbag him at length for that alone if no other reason presents itself.

Comes down to him or Billary, tho, that's a tough one, but I had enough of the smiling liars clan when they hung us out to dry with NAFTA, and her being buried halfway up the ass of Big Pharma is a tipping point for me - remember from my viewpoint they are as much an enemy to future generations as Romneys sidekicks are.

Not to mention she's got 180lbs of "Baggage", and while memories of his deeds may have faded for some, especially in light of what has come since, some people don't forgive so easily.

I'm one of em, but for the record I don't care WHO you screw in the Oval Office as long as it ain't us Taxpayers - THAT has nothin to do with it.

Gore's "baggage" and her history with the PMRC and other "for your own good" lunacies was enough to set many folks against him, so I really don't see her winning out against Obama with that anchor slowing her little boat down so much.

Other than Kucinich, the Dems really didn't have much to offer this time around, and Kookie made the bad, BAD tactical mistake of opening his damn mouth and proposing shitting on the Second Amendment some more right AFTER that stupidity was in part responsible for a massacre at V-Tech.

There's times in life when the only thing you should open your mouth for is to shovel food into it, and that was one of em - it cost him any support from me, not just cause of that, but cause of the incompetent STUPIDITY in alienating some of your voter base just before going into the primaries...

Having seen how truly dangerous an incompetent moron can be if elected, damn straight I'll never vote for one.

So... Obama's pretty wince-worthy, and if he's the best the Dems can come up with, that's pretty fuckin sad, you ask me.

I like the guy, don't get me wrong, but when things are this far gone we need someone pretty ruthless and sure of themselves, cause many of the things that HAVE to be done to pull us out of this nose-dive are gonna be unpopular with a lotta folk, and regardless of how badly it NEEDS to be done, it's political suicide to do it - and we need someone who's asshole enough to do it anyway.

And Obama ain't it.

THANK you, Frem! Sheesh, you guys are slow on the uptake sometimes. But I still love y'all anyway...

Incidentally, or maybe NOT so coincidentally (call it "by design"?), my last name just happens to be "Mock". Call it fate, mocking people isn't just a job description; it's also my name! (Don't wear it out...)

Yes, the sig itself is a joke - and while I may feel that all Republicans are evil war-mongering profiteers who deal exclusively in tears, blood, and pain, I of course realize that they aren't ALL that evil. And neither are Democrats all good.

Peace, out, and I'll be working on a new sig. "Pray for the right to an abortion", anyone? ;)
