From Wiki-how...

HOW TO START A REVOLUTION!

"There are times when it is necessary to fight against things that have become so wrong that they should no longer be. Things that were once small that have become big, but are no less wrong, must be made small again; a revolution, or a complete circle, is needed. Whether you want your brother to stop giving you wedgies, or you want to overthrow a repressive government, every fight is the same. A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turnaround") is a significant change that usually occurs in a short period of time. Revolutions have happened throughout human history and vary widely in terms of methods, duration, motivating ideology, and the number of participating revolutionaries. Their results include major changes in culture, economy, and socio-political institutions."

Good. Now we won't have martial law by the dictator. Replacing Congress with Jewish banksters is a great idea. Or STFU and vote 3rd party.

In House debate on the banker “rescue” bill, Rep. Useful info, this took a bit cause the sites are overloaded due to the amount of outraged bitchin goin on...

Levin was prettymuch expected, if something is harmful or hurtful to us peons, he's always all for it...

Dingell on the other hand, well let's just say he's pretty pissed at me, that's too bad Johnny boy, and while your rant was exceptional in quality, you kinda missed the point of who backstabbed who...

Ain't it funny how folks who'll stand and deliver when the Gov wants to confiscate your guns, seem unable to find any testicles when the Gov wants to confiscate your wallet ?

Fuck em, they've no idea of the hell they just unleashed, all of america is extremely pissed, and although I can hope for it, I kinda doubt everyone is gonna display good sense in how they react to matters.

Y'all MIGHT wanna add a side trip to the store and load up on some canned goods, bottled water and whatnot, just in case - Kroger's having a decent sale on such anyhow, so it's not really putting yourself out.

Just a suggestion, people.

My Senators... both of them... let me down. But my Rep???

AWESOME!!!

Woooo hooooo!

Write: letters to the editor. To your Senators. To your Representative. WRITE ON A PIECE OF PAPER. That counts way more than phoning or email or those electronic petitions. Tell them how you feel, and why. Provide them with alternatives, if you have any. GET YOUR FRIENDS TO WRITE. Elections are coming up. Make them feel the cold wind of their political mortality on the backs of their necks. AFTER the elections, keep up the pressure! Purchasing toxic debts will take time. There may be willingness to reconsider.

If you are so inclined, demonstrate. Stop by your local office IN PERSON. Be passionate, but polite.

If all else fails, and your Congressperson has a long history of truly horrific decisions... Vote third party. If that fails, go the recall route.

Calm down Wulfman. There weren't many options this late in the game, unless you were willing to witness a complete meltdown leading to worldwide depression. This money and plan is both an emergency kit to stop the bleeding and paralysis, and it's also a psychological play to soothe foreign investors not to pull every cent out of our country.

They'll be plenty of time to fix things properly, and punish those who committed fraud, or aided and abetted criminal activity.

Meh, and just that fast, they pulled out on us...

Seems someone offered Mr. Norquist (yes, Grover Norquist, the ole bastard hisself) a substantive contribution to his own causes to dump us off.

And of course both of Leons email boxes are now deleted, buncha jerks...

Not like that's gonna freakin stop us, but it's a pain in the ass all the same - and yes, for anyone that bothers to investigate, I know full and well those guys are bullshit partisan hacks only interested in chopping Democrats, but when it's a pair of Dems I WANT to hack down, that'd make em some pretty good go-to-guys, wouldn't it ?

So, I'm wondering how many of the 70-90% who were opposed to this will now turn right around and vote for the assholes who passed it (Obama and McCain, for example)? If American voters had the slightest shred of self respect both of them would be finished.

I'm with you.

Unfortunately for me, that means I won't be voting for either of my incumbent Senators, since they both voted "Yea". Of course, since they're both long-time Bushies (Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn), I wasn't going to be giving them any support in the first place

But I *DO* get to vote to keep my Representative, Lloyd Doggett.

Not sure what I'm going to do on the Presidential election, though. Write in Ron Paul, maybe. It's a wasted vote, but it's a symbolic protest at any rate.

Just so you can complain about specifics, here's CNNMoney's breakdown of the bill.

http://money.cnn.com/2008/10/03/news/economy/house_bill_summary/index.

And for those with a lot of time, here's a link to the whole thing.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.1424.eas:

I was out of the country the last three weeks, on a Danube river cruise with NPR talk show host Diane Rehm and about 120 mostly lib\dem fans. They seemed very pro-bailout. Wonder why the differerence between them and the libs here.

Welcome back, Geezer. I'm a little jealous that you got to go on a cruise on the Danube ...

Anyway, I've been keeping out of this discussion, mostly because I think it's very short-sighted to be so against the bail-out (how many jobs will be lost and how many homes foreclosed if Wall Street isn't bailed out?) and I don't have the time to get dragged into pointless debates, but I hypothesize that part of the backlash stems from this not being so much of a partisan issue, but more of a class issue, a us-against-the-corrupt-corporate-elites kind of thing. I expect that the people on the cruise were generally perhaps a bit better off financially than the average American, so they didn't see it from that perspective.

While there are no doubt many who looked it the issue on principle, you're probably right. It certainly wasn't partisan and seemed to have more to do with pure self-interest. The people who wanted to keep the whole credit orgy moving, and those who'd be just as happy to see it come tumbling down.

That's why the press has been so uniform in it's message that "something must be done", cynically discounting the public's rejection of the bill as a "populist revolt". They seem confident they can smooth this over and placate everyone with the usually media head games. They're probably right, but I'm hoping this will wake a few more people up.
