ok.... I'm throwing this out there. The founders of this nation were free thinkers. Deists, Atheists, and, yes, some believers, but definitely not straight laced Protestant Christians.

Isn't it just a bit odd that most of the founder fathers would be essentially disqualified for public service today because of their independent though concerning religion?

Indeed, look how much shit Kennedy took for being Catholic, back then, although that's kind of overshadowed by other events, it WAS a factor.

Which is asinine, since many of our founding fathers were deists and staunchly against the idea of organised religion cause of how dangerous and destructive it was, they knew history a bit better than most modern americans, and anyone who does knows that as a whole, that has not been a benevolent force, far from it.

Hard to accept protestations of good intent and benevolence from a structure who's primary legacy is piles and piles of corpses of the innocent.
