I have a vote and I'm not afraid to use it!

"(Nate Silver) first gained public recognition for inventing PECOTA, a system for forecasting the performance and career development of Major League Baseball players."

So HE did that ! I've heard of it second, third, fourth hand. I've always wondered. THANKS !

Hey DLV, I'm originally from the fun-loving, happy-go-lucky Knucklescrapers Union myself, but I'm more than happy to join you lot in the basement. Thanks for the invite.
Shiny!

Yeah, your right about the chicken always winning. I took a poll - pizza vs. hot wings for lunch - HW won by a landslide.

I'm gonna check out the website, oh BTW anyone that loves baseball can't be all bad.

"W" who, that's HI-larious!

I am seriously considering making that my new signature.

"I thoroughly disapprove of duels. If a man should challenge me, I would take him kindly and forgivingly by the hand and lead him to a quiet place and kill him."

I appreciate the vote of confidence, but from one baseball fan to another, I think we both knew the country was in trouble when we elected a former team owner who would trade Sammy Sosa for Harold Baines and Fred Manrique.....Aye Carumba !!!

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

I am perhaps a bit more confident in that respect, Siggy.

I do believe certain folks have learned some lessons about playing nice, about playing fair.

And yeah, it's likely to get some kinda rough and tumble dirty, no doubt about it - but THIS time around, both sides are willing to play the game, instead of laying back and trusting in "the system" to protect them.

More than that, I just ain't gonna discuss.

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it

Frem

I have to agree.

Frank Luntz (repubican spin-meister) has been cautioning democrats not to be mean. That it's going to cost votes and support.

But I see that what's different this time around is that on the ground real life people are starting to PUSH BACK --- against the lies, politics of personal destruction, two- and three-word slurs, right-wing echo chamber ... all of it.

Of course, it helps that the party in power engineered an economic meltdown, and so at least some people are pissed-off enough to look past skin color.

OTOH --- vote flipping is already happening. Seriously - they still have their fingers on the voting machine levers. And they're already floating data to 'explain' a McCain win.

The shit just doesn't stop, does it ?

Now your talkin my language. I still have some high friends in low places that have friends in jail, and if I contribute to thier philanthropic organization, it could help with Rove's social status in jail. Mr. Rove would learn one more version of being of service to Americans.

Trolls against McCain
