I won't even bother with it, as I believe no one else here will either. You proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you & logic are certainly no friends, and arguing without an understanding of logical thought is a losing proposition all around...but a NEW website with NEW people as yet unaware of your deficiencies would be fertile ground for NEW debate, doncha think?

Not one Congressional or Senatorial report even hinting or suggesting that Bush lied,

Does that seem right to you, if Bush did indeed lie ?

I'd think there'd be SOMETHING there. But there ain't.

Here's an example of your logical inability for ya, 'Rappy:
Bill Ayres is, by your accounts, a terrorist. Why is he not in prison? Can one do questionable, even outright ILLEGAL things and NOT end up in jail?

Chris, you're avoiding the issue. Bush never lied per Iraq.

Ayers is clearly a terrorist, he was on the run for years, and then his trial was botched. Doesn't mean he didn't DO the crimes, he just wasn't prosecuted by the Feds for them.

Bush didn't lie.

Kind of like the one you keep repeating about Bill Ayers being a terrorist. Make your case - show us where he's either called himself a terrorist (your "self-admitted" bit) or, barring that, show us where he's been convicted in a court of law.

No, kwickie, it's nothing like that at all, not in the least. There IS no Congress or Senate committee findings where Bush was show to have lied. It does not exist. In contrats, Ayers absolutely said he set those bombs, and wished they had done MORE.

''I don't regret setting bombs,'' Bill Ayers said. ''I feel we didn't do enough.'' Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970's as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weathermen logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

Not sure I get it, AUrap. You keep repeating the facts, apparently alone, and numerous others blather on ad nauseum with their talking points and other lies. Then a repeat cycle. Do you really have hope to get through their thick skull? I do understand that great Americans like Reagan and Rush feel the hope is eternal and we shuld always try to enlighten our delusional brethern, but at what point do the diminishing returns negate the effort? Will there be a point when the likelihood that they are too young, too dense, too ingrained in their irrationality abate your hope?

I should probably admit that I was once like you, and was under the delusion that people really wanted to know, wanted to understand, wanted to do what's best, and it took some time before I understood that some people just don't. I do think it's possible that I just didn't try hard enough, but I did end up getting tired of it - the clueless and ignorant are by definition younger and often they have more energy and spare time. Thus, the liberals have a louder shout in open forums.

The effort is negated when you make nonsensical statements like this; Rush is out for fame & glory, not the good of mankind, and Reagan was a dreamer who had little if any connection to the real world- he had his peeps do his bidding without a clue as to how, hence the horror of the Contras.

This is what I hate, the idol-ification of the truly destructive & clueless among us just because we don't 'feel' a connection to the humanity we don't have a real connection to, so we raise up these fools to tell how to feel (and think)...

Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I will offer no defense of Ayers, as I affirm that he is a terrorist and that he was wrong. This is a place where Mr. Raptor and I are in agreement.

However, Mr. Raptor and I are in disagreement as to the import of Mr. Ayers' peripheral contact with Mr. Obama. I do not see the men as buddies or pals, and I certainly see no evidence that Mr. Obama shares Mr. Ayers' deeply flawed terrorist principles.

Mr. Raptor and I are also in disagreement over the truthfulness of the Bush administration. At the very least, I feel it must be conceded that authorized government spokespersons released information that proved to be inaccurate and misleading in regards to Iraq. It is, I suppose, up to the individual observer to determine whether Bush was ignorant of the facts or whether he authorized his administration to lie. I'm not sure whether incompetence or untruthfulness is more attractive in terms of conclusions.

I am also dismayed at the administration's position on torture. I consider the periodic near-asphyxiation of detainees to be torture. The administration and its supporters do not appear to believe that this is the case. I can not reconcile their views with my own. I can not bridge the gap of logic.

I am also in disagreement with JewelStaiteFan's diatribe against liberals. Defining an entire class of people with a political orientation as clueless, ignorant youths with too much time on their hands is, to me, a foolish act borne of bias. Indeed, you will find many intelligent and seasoned liberals throughout all the ages of this country's history. I suspect you can trace the liberal mindset all the way to the founding fathers- that hotbed of leisurely, ignorant youth.

When I see this broad-stroke damnation of an entire class of people, I mentally hold a mirror up to the speaker, who quotes thusly when duly reflected: "You keep repeating the facts, apparently alone, while I blather on ad nauseum with my talking points and other lies. Then a repeat cycle. Do you really have hope to get through my thick skull?" If you would not be painted with the broad brush, you should keep from painting others with it.

Quick note on that, Chris.

Hard times invoke what I call "monkeysphere shrink", and as it shrinks, of course less and less folk are inside of it to be considered "people" instead of the faceless masses.

In extremis, it is this very factor which causes otherwise loving people to dump grandma in a crummy home somewhere out of sheer financial necessity, and at it's worst, mothers to ditch or murder their kids.

I think, that fear can also shrink it, and the truely fearful, in genuine McCarthy fashion, define their world as "Us-n-Them", and as their fear of anything that isn't "Us" grows, their monkeysphere shrinks in direct reaction, till the only "Us" left is THEM.
(Which is one reason for the sock puppets, I guess imaginary friends are better than none.)

For a real life example, the psychological breakdown and fragmentation of Joe McCarthy during his fall from grace is a classic example of that exact phenomena.

It's ironic that my reaction to hard times and difficulty is exactly the opposite, I normally have a very closed off personal-space that few are really welcome in - but in times of crisis I throw the doors wide open and actively seek allies who have the same concerns and interests.

It's a bit sad though, that in the end their own hate and fear will be the only company they have in their tiny little bubble - although I will not lie and say I pity them for it, that self-inflicted misery is naught more than exactly what they deserve for attempting to inflict it upon us.

Hello Anthony,

Sorry you misconstrued my commiseration with AUrap as diatribe. That would be a broader stoke. You should have noticed I did not, and would not claim ALL liberals share the same characteristics as SOME liberals. Thus it is also out of line to claim that I said and ENTIRE CLASS of people.
The weighting of the young does, however, affect the whole group known as liberals.
I will assume for the moment that you actually do understand that, by definition, ignorant and unknowing will be more heavily weighted towards younger people.

I am not offended if you do not agree with what I actually did say, nor if you disagree with other ideas which I did not say, but please do not attribute to me idiotic statements I did not say - that is what liberal media does to public figures.

You might consider that what seems an act borne of bias might actually be an observation borne of experience.

You would take that incorrectly. Those who most often remain ignorant and unknowing stay out of the military, and they prefer to proclaim they know more about warfare and soldiering than those actually doing the combat.
You are correct that, with a 1/40 ratio of officers/enlisted and similar for NCOs in my branch, the young are more populous.
Using an example of Vietnam would be techincally correct that the ignorant and unknowing were selected/drafted, but with LBJ/McNamara destroying the needed unit cohesion and combat training, the resultant combat casualty rate was disasterous.

Those who are in the Armed Forces quickly learn how delusional the liberals are, as a general rule - this is far from a rule or broad stroke, it does not apply to every serviceperson. But those in uniform usually grow up much faster than their peers of age.
This is the primary reason that Democrats demand disqualification of absentee ballots from military personnel (because they are about 86% conservative votes) while insisting absentee ballots from convicted felons (felons have lost the right to vote, and their votes are about 96% Democrat) are included in the vote.
You are correct that I am currently too old to reactivate my enlistment. I did check into it in 2001, and in 1990 (the requirements were different each time). Although I had the highest possible reenlistment code when I went off active duty, our skills are very perishable and criteria was strict before Clinton.

Apparently you feel the purpose of National Defense is to "send people to die" but a more informed and knowledgeable person understands that the practice of training a professional corps of warriors for our National Defense has the benefit of REDUCING our combat casualties via more effective fighting.
I am not in favor of sending anybody to die, but to train for warfare in order to swiftly wage and complete combat is a necessity of existing in a world of terrorists and dictators. I do find it appalling that all combat awards are going to high ranking officer REMFs (like Generals) instead of deserving platoon-level combatants.
