Went to see it yesterday with my son (who's 26 today BTW) who said his friend recommended it.
It was fun and funny. See it in 3d you'll have a blast.

Here's a small warning though, don't take kids under 6 or 7 because there are some scary parts in the second half of the movie. Most of the parents took kids that were 9, 10, 11, 12 in that range.

The animation was one of the best I've seen since Nightmare Before Christmas and the story was entertaining enough, that it kept my interest for the most part. It did get a little slow towards the middle, but overall it was great fun and inventive.

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

I vaguely remember reading the book, I was kind of underwhelmed by it, and it was very short so I was surprised they could make a film of it. I might see it, but I'm not one of those people who can be entertained by nifty animation.
Friend of mine took her young daughter and said she freaked out five minutes in, so I'd say definitely not for the little ones.

STAPLES

Henry Selick directed it (he also directed "Nightmare Before Christmas"), and it took him about five years to finish Coraline, so I expect it's good.

And Neil Gaiman (my favorite writer of comic books and novels) wrote the story. He's famous for "The Sandman" and "Stardust." I loved Coraline the book, and would love to see the movie.
