So a PIRATE discovered USA... Makes sense.

What else is wrong in "history" books and the Skool Industrial Complex?

Yeah, there's pretty conclusive evidence the vikings were here first, some of it disputed but surely enough to make the case.

There's actually been a few archeological digs in ohio that have been quite revealing, as well as a fairly recent (I think 2-3 years ago) discovery of native american artifacts along the mississippi which included what the archeologists best guess seemed to be a native copy of something like a longboat, but damned if I can find the article, unfortunately.

This has also unfortunately become a very confused issue due to white power/superiority leaning folk trying to parlay it for various reasons and poisoning the well with fakes and forgeries, making it quite difficult to sort out the matter conclusively.

That said, it's downright proven they had at least one settlement on north america, and evidence of some landings both further down the mississippi and possibly the new england region, which eventually either died off or interbred into non-existance with the local population.

HOW they got that far down, I couldn't tellya, but everyone knows they were nuts anyway, so...

I think it was the native Americans that got there first, but I thought the fact that vikings had reached North America was fairly undisputed.

It's surprising it took as long as it did though, I mean according to Sarah Palin you can see America from Russia.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!
No one can see their reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see.

First words spoken upon discovering the discoverers already discovered the New World.

But its still amazing our ancesters crossed the pond in a leaky sailboat, dodging 100-foot-tall Rogue Waves (that can sink any battleship or cruise liner as seen on History Channel).
