The kid that Rappy looked to as the future of the GOP is now a liberal.

You just can't make this stuff up.

Heh. Awesome. This has been a fun thread to re-visit, too.

Note to anyone - Please pity the poor, poor wittle Rappyboy. He's feeling put upon lately, what with all those facts disagreeing with what he believes.

"Goram it kid, let's frak this thing and go home! Engage!"

Oh, damn, Mike, you beat me to it! I started reading this, thinking it was about Krohn TODAY, and realized he was being held up as some personification of conservatism, etc. Yes, they ADORED him then and held him up as a wunderkind, but it seems he grew up and got smarter:
Quote:

As a squeaky-voiced 14-year-old in 2009, Jonathan Krohn told CBS News' chief Washington correspondent Bob Schieffer the premise of his political views: "I believe that a conservative has a belief system based on four basic principles: Respect for the Constitution, respect for life, less government and personal responsibility."

Three years later, Krohn -- once hailed as a conservative wunderkind -- sees things quite differently. An incoming freshman at New York University, Krohn told Politico this week that he now supports same-sex marriage, supports the Affordable Care Act and would vote for President Obama this year (if he were old enough to vote).

"One of the first things that changed was that I stopped being a social conservative," he told Politico. "It just didn't seem right to me anymore. From there, it branched into other issues, everything from health care to economic issues.... I think I've changed a lot, and it's not because I've become a liberal from being a conservative -- it's just that I thought about it more."

Krohn gained notoriety after speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference in 2009. He published two books on conservatism, managing to score blurbs from high-profile conservatives like Newt Gingrich. On Fox News, the precocious teen was hailed as a "politics prodigy." http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57466048-503544/jonathan-krohn-
conservative-wunderkind-shifts-left/
saw him in an interview; damn, the kid is poised, ARTICULATE, obviously smarter than shit, and knowledgeable as hell! He hasn't turned into a liberal, he just turned into an INTELLIGENT conservative; I was impressed.

Raptor's "the kid was right" back in 2009 makes me giggle...does this mean that arch-conservatives, once they "think about it more", will realize the illogic of ultra-conservatism? If only it were so. At least this kid was smart enough to do so!

He may not refer to himself as a liberal, but his stances on social issues brand him - in the eyes of the right, of course - as a Nazi-commie-socialist-Muslim-halfrican-anti-American.

Wonder if Rappy still wants him to run for Prez when he's old enough...

"I've not watched the video either, or am incapable of intellectually dealing with the substance of this thread, so I'll instead act like a juvenile and claim victory..." - Rappy

CPAC's boy wonder swings left

Jonathan Krohn took the political world by storm at 2009’s Conservative Political Action Conference when, at just 13 years old, he delivered an impromptu rallying cry for conservatism that became a viral hit and had some pegging him as a future star of the Republican Party.

Now 17, Krohn — who went on to write a book, “Defining Conservatism,” that was blurbed by the likes of Newt Gingrich and Bill Bennett — still watches that speech from time to time, but it mostly makes him cringe because, well, he’s not a conservative anymore.

“I think it was naive,” Krohn now says of the speech. “It’s a 13-year-old kid saying stuff that he had heard for a long time.… I live in Georgia. We’re inundated with conservative talk in Georgia.… The speech was something that a 13-year-old does. You haven’t formed all your opinions. You’re really defeating yourself if you think you have all of your ideas in your head when you were 12 or 13. It’s impossible. You haven’t done enough.”

Yeah, Magons, it IS interesting...sort of. I got through about half way down the second page, shaking my head at how it's virtually the same shit he's talking and the same responses he gets as right now, before I gave up. For me, it just shows how well (and in that case, how quickly) he winds them up and gets them to spend PAGES arguing with him, thereby giving him the attention he needs and excuses to abuse them right back!

People HAVE to come here to enjoy their little tête à tête with him, otherwise it wouldn't go on for...well, at LEAST three years! What an incredible waste of time.

Dunno how much longer than that it's been going on, but it's sad. Nowhere did I see any discussion of what the thread was supposedly ABOUT, it took off on a RaptorFest right away. Given how he's always been, I'm not surprised people go after him, but good gawd, I should think it would be boring by now, saying the same things over and over and getting the same things back from him over and over.

Raptor will never change; he knows all he has to do is throw out some absurdity, or claim he never said something he did, and away they'll go...then he can play the victim and call them names, and away they go again. It's too bad this place is so eaten up by his game.

There is something really creepy about all this kind of stuff...either when it comes from the Left or Right it is creepy

I would not be shocked to see he has issues maybe like like 'The Two Coreys' of hollyweird

He now writes for Salon the defender of pedophiles, he also seems to write for more moderate centrist websiets but the kid grew up werid for sure
maybe hung around those weird Temples and Pastors too much, all for Tranny Soddomy same-sex marriage and the Affordable Care Act, they tried to shape this kid into a conservative but he became Leftwing in the end.

I can understand why people quote or love things done by Thomas Jefferson, the Wright Brothers, a person might like and read of the revolutions the politician that fought invaders and imperial fascists and communists and founded nations, the investors and science guys breaking new ground like the Wring Bros, Tesla, Edison, Nikolaus August Otto, James Watt, Karl Benz, Joseph Bazalgette, James Watt, Benji Franklin, Alessandro Volta, William Cullen, FDR, John Wilkinson, Milton Friedman, John Harrison, Thomas Paine, Max Weber, Charles Goodyear, the guys building cities in S.Korea, China, Japan, the old names of the Industrial Revolution in Europe etc ....but Ronnie Raygun...former Merrill Lynch CEO Don Regan telling old Ronnie to speed it up ...and best friends with the taliban at the Whitehouse...I don't get the obsession with Reagan, he was a senile actor that could still read out some good lines on a script
