Wow. Same reaction I had to . . . Paul Potts? Was that the guys name who shocked everyone when he sang opera?

I dunno, Wash. I'm not a fan of such 'reality' t.v., what ever version. Whether it's UK or USA, I generally loathe these shows. This particular moment being one very fine exception.

Of all the survivor, great races, real world nonsense that folks glue themselves to the t.v. for, I personally only enjoy watching home edition of 'makeover'.

That's quality t.v.

Jeez, I gotta forgive you, Rap. I figured this was gonna be some snarky right-wing political dig at somebody or other.

Then got a look at her and listened to her intro, and I thought, " OMG, they're gonna make fun of the poor goofy dame."

Then she opened up her mouth and *S*A*N*G*. Wow, she's got a voice on her. I hope she wins, or whatever they do on England's Got Talent-- she's got the voice that deserves to go all the way.

Did Simon smile? Heh. Didn't expect that.

She has a beautiful voice. The audience and the people at the panel in the beginning wasn't going to take her seriously because she's very unattractive, and the unconscious beliefs that many people have is that nothing beautiful can come from something unattractive. Beauty is rewarded and ugliness is punished, but once this woman began singing that audience was quick to see passed her unattractiveness, and see the beauty that clearly is within this woman.

I rather found the whole thing moving.

That is three that I have seen now from the Britain show that I have really enjoyed, the others being Paul Potts singing opera, and a young girl who trained her dog to dance with her.

While I usually hate talent or reality shows. I do like this, bit more of a kind hearted vibe that American Idol or the like.
