Why must you continue to hate Bush? So he looks like a monkey... is that any reason to keep hating him?

Also, it should be noted that that very same "moderately trained monkey" George Dubya Bush did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING where the pirates are concerned, even though it had been a serious and growing problem since at least 2004.

So maybe a moderately trained monkey COULDN'T have made that call. Or WOULDN'T. Maybe it wasn't "politically expedient" for Bush to do anything proactive about piracy. According to Geezer, he would have only done something if it would help him in the polls.

Hello,

If this is about the pirates (?) then I do praise Obama for his decision regarding the pirates.

I had real concerns he would puss out, but he's shown backbone. I hope he pursues the pirate threat further.

I hope he does the smartest thing he CAN do, waltz on over to Gates with a couple flunkies takin notes and ask his advice - that's WHY you have advisors in the first damned place, and not a bunch of sycophantic bootlickin yes-men like Shrub mostly had.

Or sit in a meeting . . . dumbfounded and speechless . . . for about 45 minutes.

I thought Dubya only sat in there for a little over seven minutes. I think you might be exaggerating his incompetence and unwillingness to act.

Dubya finished a story he was reading to children at a school. John Kerry was the one who was in a meeting and they all sat there unable to think or talk for 45 minutes . . . according to him, at least.

Hello,

I'm doubtless of the minority here.

It never bothered me that W. didn't leap up and storm out of the room in a whirlwind of activity.

I could see myself in a similar situation, taking a few minutes to absorb the implications of the event before departing in a purposefully less than alarming manner to deal with the situation.

I'm with you, Anthony, don't get me wrong. Bush was reading to a group of school kids when he was informed of the attacks. I think he did the right thing by calmly finishing the story for the children and THEN going on his way to figure out what was going on. Just my opinion. 7 minutes is a MUCH shorter time span than the 45 that Kerry admitted to not being able to think straight, much less DO anything.
