How is it that the world has gone fucking crazy just because somebody who is not part of the "beautiful set" can actually sing? Wow, what an amazing concept.A normal person who has shown a talent for something. Just goes to show what a joke this industry is.I see talented people everyday, and just because they arent gorgeous shouldnt be a criteria to make them special.To me, it says more about the world that there are a bunch of talentless morons on our tv screens that are only there simply because they ARE beautiful.Pussy Cat Dolls operatic divas are they?!!!!. winds me up.

Society is shallow, although partially I blame the preoccupation with attractiveness and beauty on the mate-seeking instinct. Only partially, because society could theoretically make some effort at not exacerbating the problem, like ours does. 9_9

I also think there's a tendency to respect and trust people who we might be attracted to in order to speed up the relationship process (regardless whether THEY might be attracted to, or trust and respect US).

After all, we're not the first society to ignore people based on appearance. I don't have any evidence, but I'd be inclined to say all societies, present and historical, to some extent or another, are probably guilty of this.

There's plenty of non-beautiful people in showbiz. Talent always trumps appearance. I am more offended by her being labled a spinster. She kinda reminds me of Georgy Girl and I like her. Simon Cowell is a smart guy, like him or not. He doesn't rip people unless there's a pretty solid reason to.
