I'd say don't get too freaked out about it, Wulf. There's cases within about 60 miles of where I'm sitting right now, and I'm not terribly worried. That it's wreaking havoc on Mexico probably says more about their healthcare system than it does the disease's lethality. I know there are several cases in the U.S. already, and no known deaths.

Just sounds like another flu to me.

Except....its lethal to those who are in the "healthy" range. Just like the Spanish flu.

Boy, ya wanna talk about a distraction from the real news.
The Wars go on. Terrorists still might strike, and are probably planning to do so, somewhere. The economy is recovering a little bit, but still is shaky, and still might crash. The deficit keeps gettin' bigger.

But about 100 folks in Mexico die from a flu strain that is indistinguishable from all the other ordinary flu strains to anybody but a biochemist, and the whole world starts running around in a panic, spurred on by ALL the media.

OK, this stuff IS related to the stuff that killed 50 million folks in 1918, folks living in trenches and ruins, weakened by 4 years of total war and bad nutrition, in an overburdened- with-war-casualties, primitive medical system.
This stuff MIGHT cause a world-wide pandemic. BUT IT MIGHT NOT, EITHER.

The most sensible comment I've heard today is that we'll know within the next week to 10 days.

SO I'm gonna hunker down, load up my AK-47, duct tape up the plastic sheeting inside my windows, stuff the wet towels under the doors-- Oh, sorry, that was for the threat of chemical warfare and poision gas. Never mind-- Guess I'll just go to work...

I smell a rat, a big one, and it's name is Donald.

Firstoff, contaiminated vaccines are nothing new, ESPECIALLY flu vaccs contaminated with real flu, despite BSL-3 protections, which in truth are just as often not properly followed.

But more than one lab has been caught red handed shipping "vaccines" that also contained live virus lots, something that despite all the howling to the contrary could NOT have happened by accident.

US media has refused to touch this one with a ten foot pole, but it's not the first case, nor is Baxter the only party guilty of this, Medeva has had it's own issues with contaminated vaccines of this nature, Chiron as well.

And so it's not too far a stretch from that, to someone not properly checking a batch and some poor schleps getting a flu "immunization" that was more than they bargained for, is it now ?
(which I strongly suspect was the case, and definately suspect was entirely deliberate)

Especially since over the past two years some CDC files relative to outbreak tracking as regards this touchy little issue have been deemed classified.

See, this ain't the first time this card has been played.

In 1976 at Ft Dix NJ, two cases of H1N1 "swine flu" were detected among military personnel, and with the help of a compliant media a panic was quickly whipped up and under pressure from SecDef Donald Rumsfeld the CDC responded by rushing through and stockpiling a vaccine made by the G.D. Searle Company that proved in the end to be neither safe, nor effective - during this time and shortly after, with his buddy Sam Skinner blocking the grand jury (and later joining Searles own law firm) Don Rumsfeld wound up CEO of the company, what a coinkydink, eh ?

113 people died, and somewhere around 4000 people were harmed or even crippled by Guillain-Barré syndrome - you know, a LOT like what happened with Gardasil...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillain-Barr%C3%A9_syndrome

In the end the "vaccine" did far more damage than the goddamn virus.

And heeeere's Tamiflu....

Dangerous, potentially toxic, and best of all (see last link) - ineffective.

And guess WHO is chairman of the board of Gilead, which created it - despite them outsourcing production to Roche ?

Donald Rumsfeld.

This is not coincidence folk, this is the powers that be using mexicos lower standards and controls to start some shit, since their efforts to "create" a terrorist event have failed utterly, now they're playing the pandemic card.

I highly, STRONGLY, advise you to stay AWAY from these vaccinations and the recently vaccinated, while making damn sure of your own physical health and hygiene procedures in the meantime, if nothing else add a decent vitamin supplement to your diet and start carrying waterless hand cleaner/sanitiser and USE it.

And before anyone shouts me down for that advice, remember what happened with Gardasil, and how I got shouted down then, too.

Don't let the powers that be panic you into handing them the keys to the kingdom neither, cause that's exactly what they WANT, people.

Ok, vaccines suck. They can be used for a purpose other than intended.

But is this something we should worry about?

Wash your hands. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze. If you get flu-like symptoms, go to a doc. If you don't... don't.

What else can I tell ya?

I'm a realist. I've got plenty enough to worry about in this world without worrying about whether or not some invisible bug is going to end me. If it does, it does. If not, then worrying is a waste of time. Take precautions, but don't get paranoid, Wulf. You sound worried. If I vanish off this forum in the next couple weeks, THEN worry. :)

Hey, Wulfie? According to what I was just listening to, you know what part of the whole "Stimulus" package was? The part that caused the most consternation amongst the Republicans, that is? The part that they forced the Democrats to strip out of the package before they'd support it?

$900 million for "Pandemic Flu Preparedness".

DOH!

Bet it'd be nice to have some of that money available about now, huh?

Oh, and your hero, Governor "We Don't Need No Stinking Federal Money or Government Bailout" Rick Perry of Texas? Yeah, he's begging the federales and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to send everything they've got to Texas, especially the border areas.

Guess nobody needs the FedGov, at least until they NEED 'em, eh?

BYTEMITE

I've actually had a bad batch of vaccination before.

One of only two times I ever got a temperature over 104. Now I steer clear of vaccinations, mostly because I figure I can handle it better on my own, but also because that and other medical joyrides have given me a pathological fear of needles.
