Look out Bill O'Reilly, Greta Van Susteren and Sean Hannity: Sarah Palin is coming to Fox News.

An attorney for the former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate said Monday that Palin will begin offering commentary for the U.S. cable network, where O'Reilly, Van Susteren and Hannity are among its top-rated hosts.

Attorney Thomas Van Flein declined to elaborate on the deal.

"I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News," Palin said in a statement on the network's website.

'It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.'

Are we surprised at this? Now we're being surprised?

I'm more interested in what it means about her future plans. I've been reading blogs elsewhere--people really seem to believe she has a plan regarding 2012. (The election, not the movie. Though they could be related, if Palin's involved...

) My feeling was that she's too clueless to actually have a plan for a future so far away as 2 years. More likely just grabbing at all she can reach while she has the chance.

So now she's got cashy money, a soapbox, and an easy avenue for receiving the admiration of her fans. She's a pig in shit for sure. Yes, lipstick and all. Can anyone possibly believe she'll give that up for more humiliation and *gasp* the need to actually work while on the campaign path?

Really, I'm disappointed. It would sink the Repubs hard if she'd run.

It's all you can do, really, at her pathetic attempts to somehow "remain" relevant, when she never really was in the first place.

This on the heels of her attempts to get in with the Tea Baggers, which resulted mostly in sarcastic, mocking laughter...

At least with someone else writing her dialogue she might sound like something other than a bimbo, were it not for the network she'll be shilling for, I'd take that as a given.

I figure Mikey either ain't seen this yet, is still out of his chair on the floor laughing, or has choked to death on the sheer volume of material it gave him to work with.

I like how she's already insinuated that she's joining "the management", so she's already elevated herself above the mere "hired help" like Beck, Hannity, and O'Reilly.

Aside from providing me with all sorts of the funny, though, this is really good news, since it pretty much removes her from any chance or hope of running for office, at least anytime soon. Sooner or later the conservatives are going to fish her out of the toilet and try once more to polish her up.

I wonder, though - will she be reading the news, or just spewing out editorials? She could be a real boon to their news-reading, and could really perk things up, "dontchaknow". And also too, she could no doubt editorialize for days about death panels that don't exist and not being able to pronounce Senator Biden's last name (hence the "Can I call you Joe?" bit at the debate).

I heard excerpts from the new book out, and it kept us in stitches. They had to teach her about WWI, WWII, and she didn’t know North Korea and South Korea were two different countries!! It goes on and on...she didn’t know what the Federal Reserve does, and still believes Saddam Hussein was beihnd 9/11. Nothing unusual there...

Heard a good one last night. Lieberman, as everyone knows, was McCain’s first choice. McCain actually went to ROVE about it, causing Rove to call Lieberman, saying “John is so stubborn, he may get it in his mind and carry it to you; you may be the only one who can save him from himself”. Lieberman, of course, had no such intention since he wanted to be VP, but apparently they talked McCain out of it and at the last minute he brought Sarahcuda in.

That wasn’t the end of it, either. When things started going South, Rove turned again to Lieberman, asking him to “pray with Sarah”. So Lieberman (a Jew—shut up PN) prayed with Palin (a Pentacostal), telling her it was a “covenant of destiny”...”This is your moment to make something happen”. She thought it was “God’s will” that she became VP...oops, her God either changed his mind or wasn’t strong enough to get her there.

The one I especially giggled at was that her handlers had to work with her to help her overcome “metathesis”, which she shared with Bush...they had to phonetically spell out “Nuclear” so she could learn to pronounce it!

Remember her famous “can I call you Joe?” at the debate? That had a purpose, according to the book. She kept calling him “O’Biden”, so they told her to say that to avoid the gaff. She made the mistake anyway once during the debate, but nobody seems to have noticed.

She’s a perfect candidate for ClusterFox—didn’t we joke about just this in a thread a while back? I'm sure we did. She’s a money grubber, and no doubt will continue to do speaking engagements; she’s probably come out of this rolling in dough, which is what she wants anyway.

From what I heard: editorials. So she can go on spewing about Death Panels until the cows come home, and Fox Noise’s audience will happily nod and say “see, I told you so!”

It’s too laugh, nothing more. Yeah, they should put Rove on the payroll, and Liz Cheney, too. Just the platform for all of them!
