Getting beat by FOX News is bad, but when you're getting beat by MSNBC you know you suck.

Yes, low ratings = poor quality.

Do you even remember what show this site is supposedly about?

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Yeah, Firefly must have been a HORRIBLE show to have rated so low. You two probably shouldn't even waste your time on such a piece of crap show or websites devoted to it.

Of course, by extension of your logic, Dancing With the Stars must be the BEST show on television, right? Or American Idol? Rappy, I think you'd be much happier there.

Why do you address me when responding to Whozit ?

Must be the same reason why you can't read. Figures.

Actually, I was addressing both of you in the first paragraph ("you two"), and you alone in the last sentence. It's called a "callback" - I was referencing something stupid you'd said earlier.

I completely understand that your feeble Republican mind can't grasp such complicated conversations, though.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Don't think it's about a feeble mind Mike...perhaps a sense of defensiveness, rather. I, too, missed the "you two" and thought you were talking to Raptor individually, so it's not impossible he made the same mistake.

As to FauxNews having better numbers, I'll put forth my opinion; those who watch ClusterFox do so almost exclusively, as has been shown by how much and how fast their propaganda catches on. Others watch several stations--I tend to alternate between CNN and MSNBC, with some local news and PBS thrown in. So the numbers are skewed in that respect. I'm not surprised FoxNoise gets the ratings they do...their agenda so closely and consistently mirrors that of their viewers, it wouldn't be surprising their audience wants nothing else. Many people don't want to be challenged, they just want to hear what agrees with what they already believe. That doesn't make FauxNews good, only pandering to one point of view.

Firefly is a good example; how many shows don't garner sufficient ratings to survive but were in fact excellent, thoughtful TV, while idiocy like American Idol and Dancing with the Stars attract a larger audience? Nobody ever said we were discerning or intelligent in our choice of viewing; remember, TV is entertainment, and today news is newstainment.

by sheer weight of numbers, the many err more than the few. hence, anything that a lot of people like must suck, hopelessly. this is why i care for firely, because it is unspoiled by the approval of the masses.

I was almost kidding. Some popular things, like toilet paper and soap, are actually deserving of their popularity. But your citations are all devastatingly on point.

Now that cnn is 4th, they will develop hipster cred. But then the poseurs will come flocking back, bleating, and I will have to find a radder way to get misinformed.

MSNBC's primtime lineup and Bill Maher stupid show together don't get a million viewers and they keep these douchebags on the air, somtimes life isn't fair.

Don't go scarin' 'em with logic.

I makes sense that Fox leads the ratings. Every hard-core conservative/Neo-Con/Teabagger watches them, while the rest of the country spreads their viewership out across multiple outlets.
