DREAMTROVE

Personally, I'm beginning to get sick of the line "we inherited such a mess"

Here's what Obama didn't inherit:

A war with Afghanistan technically when he came in, we had 8000 troops as part of a NATO force to protect the afghan govt. Now we have a war the size of Iraq.

A war with Pakistan.

His healthcare bill

The bailouts (bush was going to kill them as a lame duck president, after handing out the first $350 billion, but Obama begged him to leave then place.) and oh how they grew.

the gulf oil spill

Half the debt. Yes, Obama has already doubled the debt. In just 18 months. It took Bush all eight years to double his debt, and actually spend less money. Biden can bemoan Bush wasting 3 trillion, which is entirely fair, but Obama has already wasted 6 trillion. WTF? This is now officially e Obama debt, and the Obama war.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Actually, he inherited all of those, plus the Iraq war.

We were already at war with Afghanistan, for years, and had botched it badly; we could have been done and out long before if we hadn't been sidetracked into Iran. Obama had to do something about it; this is what he chose.

The same had been allowed already to cross the border and involve people and the government there. He had to do something about it; this is what he chose.

He inherited many, many Presidents' inability to deal with the healthcare situation; it and Social Security/Medicare have long been known to be the "third rails" of politics. He decided to do something about it; this is what he chose.

He definitely inherited the bailouts; you can believe what you will about how Dumbya "would have" dealt with them; the fact remains he began them, so Obama inherited a problem, which multipled. He had to do something about it; this is what he chose.

The Gulf doesn't count; Dumbya botched Katrina, Obama is botching the gusherfuck; Dumbya botched forewarnings about 9/11...etc. Nonetheless, Obama DID inherit the mess made of our inspection process, and he DID inherit the deregulation of the oil industry Dumbya/Darth created.

He DID inherit the debt, to deny that is disingenuous. He inherited an enormous debt from a President who began with a surplus and turned it into the largest debt this country had seen without producing any infrastructure, job growth, stability, and which had already begun the crash Obama inherited. He had to do something about it; this is what he chose.

You can also calculate how much of a surplus Dumbya started with, add that to the debt he left, and you'd get some pretty shocking numbers. Each administration starts with what the other left behind, always.

I'm not saying Obama's solutions or what he chose to do about ANY of these is necessarily good or better than others would have done; I'm saying they were all created during Dumbya's administration, and that's what Obama had to work with. To say history has nothing to do with what Obama has done is a fallacy, whether we like what Obama has done or not.

Whatsit, that is truly sad. You know perfectly well that we can outdo any "gaffes" by either President or Vice President with many, many more by Dumbya. And as to VPs, I'd far rather have a guy who makes mistakes than one who DELIBERATELY destroys our freedoms and has no respect for and tramples our Constitution and civil rights freely.

VERY pitiful attempt.
