A lesson on how to persuade people:

James J. Lee, an environmentalist with a gun and an abiding conviction that television can save the planet from humans, conquered the Discovery Channel. I suspect conservatives will be quick to seize on reports that:

Quote:

Lee said he experienced an ‘‘awakening” when he watched former Vice President Al Gore’s environmental documentary ‘‘An Inconvenient Truth.”

And a link to his manifesto:

http://savetheplanetprotest.com/

Note that Mr. Lee ardently supports the extinction of the human race.

In any event, this exciting saga suggests that nobody has a monopoly on militant idiocy.

You know, it seems to me that these people who think the human race should be extinct don't have that much conviction in that belief. At the moment they have their epiphany, wouldn't their first, last, and easiest target be themselves?

Indeed, and it's nice to see SWAT actually serve their proper purpose instead of terrorising petty criminals or wrong addresses.

Perp down, no casualties - I call that a win.

On a lighter note, Mayor Bing is a lil pissed off at the local community after someone left his (paid for by the city taxpayers, of course) GMC Yukon up on blocks...

Jesse Jackson wasn't too happy his Caddy Escalade got the same treatment a couple days ago.

All their fancy doubletalk ain't brought jobs here nor ended the corruption, of which Bing and Worthy are great parts - but yanno what, them now-fenced rims put food on someones table for a while, and maybe they ougta to be thinkin about the message this was meant to deliver, since they left the valuables and the radios in the vehicles, untouched.

ETA: Oh very much yes, Byte - in fact I handed my sidearm to at least one VHEMT member for the express purpose of proving his belief to me, and not only didn't he have the yarbles to pop hisself, he didn't have the yarbles to cap me either!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voluntary_Human_Extinction_Movement
So I slapped him and took my piece back - damn shit-shovellin hypocrites, the lot of em.

Alas, it seems that Mr. Lee was shot dead.

But he died for his beliefs. Does this make his death meaningful, or cool?

In any event, he died in a manner consistent with his lust for extinction.

The planet's still doomed.

Mankind or not.

The next huge asteroid, or the depletion of the sun's fuel.... everything we've ever been, done or built on this rock is destined for obliteration.

Have a good weekend, y'all !

Nihilism, Step 1, calls for the recognition that everything is finite and doomed. Step 2: acknowledge that everything that minkind does is accordingly pointless and trivial. Step 3: we get high paint each other's nails. Black.

Dude should have read less environmental literature, adn more Ecclesiastes.

I think we're all doing what we can to help achieve Mr. Lee's dream. I'm going to go out back of the trailer right now and burn an old car tire in his honor.

Well, that's one way of looking at it. OR, we can accept the fact that this planet is indeed finite, and get our collective act together and start planning to 'reach out and touch the stars'. We can take a baby step we've already taken, or we can push forward and colonize Mars. But to just linger here, on this rock, does nothing for humanity.

James J. Lee, lunatic environmentalist.

John (Piratenews) Lee, general lunatic.

Related or just coincidence?

Jumpin Jesus on a pogo stick, Rappy - now I *know* the end is nigh.

Not only do we agree this guy was a fucking idiot we're better off without - we also agree completely on why and how to solve the problem he was whinging about.

Now we're REALLY doomed, for sure.

BEWARE OF TLDR

At first I thought to Mr. Lee's manifesto, because I am contrary, and because the poor fool died to spread it. But then my curiousity got the better of me. The manifesto reads like a particularly incoherent forum post, complete with the stank of second-hand knowledge and CAPITALIZATION for the EMPHASIS of POINTS and so forth.

I am stunned with how obsessed Mr. Lee was with television; he seems to have credited it with the power to DESTROY or SAVE the PLANEt with innovative SOLUTIONS. Poor fool. Interwebz > tv, and interwebz was sent by teh devil in hell to destroy mankind. Anyway:

http://www.savetheplanetprotest.com/

I would note two points. First, Mr. Lee was held that agriculture is a crime against nature, and that back when we were hunter gatherers who practiced animism, life was so much better and nobler and more balanced and stuff. Hence, we ought to abandon the experience of the past 6,000 years. I imagine many RWED regulars support this idea.

Finally, Mr. Lee really didn't care for immigrants, and I suspect he would've supported gutting the 14th amendment. I believe that his shooting was actually motivated by anti-immigrant sentiment, and The Tea Party, not Al Gore, is to blame.

Quote:

5. Immigration: Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and the anchor baby filth that follows that. Find solutions to stopping it
