Loved what Rush said today, before the word went out that Steele was gonna support her.

Rush suggested ( though didn't request or advocate ) that if every one of his listeners sent just $ 1 to O'Donnell's campaign, she'd have more than enough money for the election.

A caller followed that up with saying he tried to get in and donate, but the web site was busy. Said he'd try until he got through.

I was a Ron Paul supporter and all GOP talkshow hosts smacked him down. It took a long time for conservatives to see it is not just war and milatary

Rush belittled the tea party movement, as did ingrahm, hannity, savage, and malzberg....They are all coming around. Small FEDERAL gov. Strong DEFENSE....

Check out Hannity fighting ROVE, fucking KARL ROVE...ROVE. Who's team are you on? Sounds like an establishment hack..Hannity put his finger to the wind...

Karl Rove said more negative things about O'Donnell in that one sitting on Hannity than in all the 8 years of Democrats vilifying and lying about his boss.

Something is definitely up here. Why the hell is Rove defending a RINO ? Cap and Trade, ObamaCare,... IMPEACHMENT OF BUSH ??? And Rove has the nerve to speak ill of O'Donnell ?

I don't think Rove even spoke this badly of Osama Bin Ladin himself, and yet this is how he treats the people's choice to serve them in Delaware ?

Un-fracking-believable!!

2010 looks to TRULY be the year of the woman!

He's defending a RINO because he wants Republicans to take the Senate, and has determiend that Ms. Party is not electable.

The Tea Party, in its destructive hunger for ideological purity, is doing a damn fine job of sparing the Democrat's the drubbing they've earned. Not that they won't be slaughtered, anyway.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

I'm glad you guys have had your love fest, but you might want to come down to earth one of these days. This woman is DEFINITELY smooth: she's a "smooth operator" and all one has to do is glance at her background to read her: She wants on the bandwagon/gravy train in the worst possible way.

Using campaign funds and a campaign credit card to live off;

Not paying taxes and having to have the IRS sue her to foreclose her house;

Not having had a real JOB in years, just being a perpetual (losing) candidate (of COURSE she had trouble paying her student loans off...SHE DIDN'T HAVE A JOB!);

Lying about her educational background SEVERAL TIMES;

...and a whole lot more. She sounds good to you guys, but you see, she didn't "Win Big" as she claimed, she won by a tiny margin because of a small turnout of made up mostly of energized Tea Partiers, and even THEN she only won by 6 points.
Quote:

Christine O'Donnell's win over the long tenured U.S. Representative Mike Castle, 53% to 47%, might have been a shocker to most, but what really happened, and what most observers missed, was that turnout was higher than normal in lower Delaware (Kent and Sussex Counties), and average in upper Delaware (New Castle County).

Castle won New Castle County 58% to 42%, but lost Kent and Sussex counties, 64% to 36%. O'Donnell's support in both Kent and Sussex was twice that of Castle's. Approximately 57,582 registered Republicans voted in Tuesday's primary. An estimated 27,021 voted for Castle and 30,561 voted for O'Donnell; a vote difference of 3,540.

The September PPP poll found that only 24% of Republicans consider themselves "members of the Tea Party," a plurality of 47% felt the Republican Party was "about right" in terms of their ideology; 17% felt they were "too conservative." Approximately 42% of Republicans said that a Sarah Palin endorsement would not make a difference in their vote for a candidate, and 24% said it would make them "less likely" to vote for a candidate.

Currently, Democratic nominee Chris Coons has a lead of 52.2%-38.8% over O’Donnell, and he's squeaky clean. Coons has been leading in the polls in all head to head match-ups against O'Donnell. And, in the general election, O'Donnell will have to convince independent voters, moderate Republicans, and Castle supporters that she will represent their interests. This will be an uphill battle given that she's already indicated that she feels she can win without "them" referring to the Republican Party Organization, and suggesting the GOP might be too lazy to help her.

When it comes to the general election and people know more about her (if she's got the guts to face tough questions or appear anywhere other than Fox or Tea Party rallies), it won't be so rosy a picture.

The GOP bad-mouthed her horribly during the primaries, saying she couldn't be elected dog catcher; they turned away from her when she won, only coming back grundgingly, and will have to work like crazy to clean up her act and make her more moderate, IF they can, given she’s not enamored of the party.

Then there are all the other negatives people will start finding out about.
Quote:

Kristin Murray, who ran O'Donnell's 2008 Senate campaign against then-Sen. Joe Biden, and who charges that her old boss "is no conservative."

"I got into politics because I believe in conservative values and wanted to make a difference. But I was shocked to learn that O’Donnell is no conservative," says Murray, according to a script obtained by POLITICO.

"This is her third Senate race in five years. As O’Donnell’s manager, I found out she was living on campaign donations — using them for rent and personal expenses, while leaving her workers unpaid and piling up thousands in debt," she says.

Perhaps the most biting line in the call delivered by Murray: "She wasn't concerned about conservative causes. O’Donnell just wanted to make a buck."

Murray said she had been reluctant to speak out about O'Donnell until she saw her campaign gaining traction and becoming a real threat to win the primary.

"Obviously, I don't think I would be doing an ad for the state party if they fired me," she told POLITICO Tuesday afternoon. "And I'm not a big fan of Castle either; I wasn't going to be, ‘Rah-rah Castle.’ I just wanted people to know it's more about who is better on taxes. You're dealing with someone who is a complete fraud."

Murray said she voluntarily left her position as executive director of the state party to run O'Donnell's second Senate run in June 2008, after the candidate pleaded with her three different times to sign on. She left the position two months later, after she found out O'Donnell doesn't have a college degree, had foreclosed on her home and was using the campaign debit card for personal expenses.

"It just amounted to too much," she said. "The reason she's running is so she can pay her rent, pay her electricity bill. If it was popular to be really liberal now, maybe she'd do that," Murray said.

Murray's remarks mark the second time a former O'Donnell campaign staffer has come forward in recent days to publicly rebuke the former television commentator's candidacy.

David Keegan, a former O'Donnell aide, told The New York Times earlier this month that when he found out about O'Donnell's personal financial problems, he decided he could no longer work for her.

"We are constantly trying to hold her back from spending. She was financially completely irresponsible," Keegan told the Times.

I mean come ON, guys, you want this type of person in charge of "fiscal responsibility"?
Quote:

Delaware GOP Chair Tom Ross single-handedly orchestrated a relentless fusillade against O'Donnell, issuing almost daily releases about her vulnerabilities as a candidate, including issues involving back taxes, campaign debt and misstatements about her professional and political accomplishments.
In 2007, on the O’Reilly factor, she warned about cloning:
Quote:

Quote:

"They are -- they are doing that here in the United States. American scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully functioning human brains. So they're already into this experiment."
It's possible that O'Donnell was misremembering the 2005 report on scientists who successfully grew human brain cells within mice -- which is not the same as an actual functioning human brain, but a demonstration that human brain cells can be made from stem cells.

Quote:

Here's another wonderful gem from Christine O'Donnell's past as a frequent guest on TV shows. Back in 1996, when then-Speaker Newt Gingrich's finances were being investigated, O'Donnell complained that people were on a witch hunt to find anything to get Gingrich, instead of paying attention to serious ethics scandals -- like putting Bill Clinton on trial for the supposed murder of Deputy White House Counsel Vince Foster.

During an appearance on C-Span, O'Donnell complained about the ethics investigations of Gingrich. "I think it's very interesting that President Clinton has come on a lot more charges and a lot more serious charges than what Newt Gingrich is being charged on, yet we're not making as big of an issue, we're not forcing that he go to trial," said O'Donnell. "We're not giving people like Paula Jones a fair trial, we're not giving the case of Vincent Foster a fair trial -- when there is a lot more empirical evidence that Clinton is involved in wrongdoing."

"That's a much more serious charge than failing to seek legal advice, and yet we're all just blowing that off, and everybody's trying to focus on Newt Gingrich like a witch hunt, to bring him to the stake and burn him, because they don't like the policy that he's behind.”

In that same interview:
Quote:

O’Donnell said it was a "misconception that you, quote unquote, can't legislate morality. The reality of that statement is that if you don't legislate one morality then you are legislating somebody else's morality," she said. "So you can't get around legislating morality."

More broadly, she condemned lawmakers for fostering a pop culture that encouraged sexual harassment.
Quote:

"We sit there and scratch our heads and wonder why sexual harassment is out of control in this country. It is because we are setting a precedent through our pop culture, through the songs that penetrate the airwaves and the sitcoms that are on television that respect no boundaries," she said. "We need to just do a U-Haul of our pop culture. I think legislators, Hollywood film producers all need to reevaluate why they are doing what they are doing... We end up feeding a demon, feeding a monster and we are feeding this appetite so much that our generation is going to self-destruct quite honestly."

There's actually more, but that's enough to show the point.

The people dissing her aren't because of some big conspiracy; Rove may be an idiot, but he knows politics and he's just seen their chance to take over the Senate go down in flames, of COURSE he's pissed! These people know politics, her ex-campaign head, the Delaware GOP Chair, Karl Rove...have you heard people like them come out against OTHER Tea Party candidates? They may not be happy about them, but they’ve accepted them. Why are they balking at this one Tea Party candidate, when they've accepted the rest?

But enjoy it while you can. It's absolutely amazing how quickly and enthusiastically you'll glom on to someone who would be a HORRENDOUS representative of you or anyone else, just because she represents an "outsider" and Tea Party candidate. You're quite happy to crow about hoping to put this person in POWER, when the reality is power in her hands would be a terrible mistake.

Your “what’s going on? Are they afraid of her?” is absolutely right on, but not for the reasons you think. They’re afraid she’s going to lose them the takeover of the Senate, and they know who she really IS. Only you and other deluded Tea Partiers don’t.

Oh, I forgot this one:
Quote:

In a 1998 appearance that O'Donnell made on Bill Maher's "Politically Incorrect" show, O'Donnell frets about how the younger generations have been told to do what they feel like, meaning having lots of abortions.

Later, O'Donnell -- who hates lying -- tries to figure out what she'd do if she had to lie to Hitler! Comedian Eddie Izzard pressed her on just how far she would take her anti-lying beliefs. Izzard asked O'Donnell whether or not she would lie to Nazis who showed up at her door during WWII and demanded to know if she were hiding any Jewish people in her house. O'Donnell refused to even entertain the notion of concealing the truth from Nazis in that scenario because "you never have to practice deception":
Quote:

O'DONNELL: A lie, whether it be a lie or an exaggeration, is disrespect to whoever you're exaggerating or lying to, because it's not respecting reality.

MAHER: Quite the opposite, it can be respect.

IZZARD: What if someone comes to you in the middle of the Second World War and says, 'do you have any Jewish people in your house?' and you do have them. That would be a lie. That would be disrespectful to Hitler.

O'DONNELL: I believe if I were in that situation, God would provide a way to do the right thing righteously. I believe that!

MAHER: God is not there. Hitler's there and you're there.

O'DONNELL: You never have to practice deception. God always provides a way out.

You're absolutely sure you want this woman in the Senate, yes? You have no problem with over-zealous religious types...and you think the GOP can "moderate" her stances enough for the general public? If she doesn't like lying, the public is gonna hear the whole thing, right out there. If she "moderates" her beliefs, she's lying about not lying...it's a conundrum, isn't it?

Ms. O'Donnell isn't anything close to a "true conservative" either. She doesn't have the first clue about fiscal responsibility.

And she preaches all her bible bullshit, but won't live it.

Anyone else ever notice how alleged "atheist" Rappy ALWAYS backs the young-Earth creationists he claims are complete idiots?

Seems where Ms. O'Donnell is concerned, they can't defend her, just blather about how much money she's getting?? You wanna watch how she spends it...supporting herself, no doubt, since she STILL DOESN'T HAVE A JOB.

What happened to the cries of "living off the dole" and "get a job, asshole"? It's okay 'cuz she's a Tea Partier, I assume?

A filing cabinet or a computer can store quite inconsistent notions and never lose a minute of sleep over their contradiction. Similarly a high RWA can have all sorts of illogical, self-contradictory, and widely refuted ideas rattling around in various boxes in his brain, and never notice it.

It’s as if each idea is stored in a file that can be called up and used when the authoritarian wishes, even though another of his ideas--stored in a different file-- basically contradicts it. We all have some inconsistencies in our thinking, but authoritarians can stupify you with the inconsistency of their ideas. Thus they may say they are proud to live in a country that guarantees freedom of speech, but another file holds, “My country, love it or leave it.” The ideas were copied from trusted sources, often as sayings, but the authoritarian has never “merged files” to see how well they all fit together.

--Fiscal responsibility

--Government out of private lives

--Personal freedom

--Separation of church and state

O'Donnell represents none of these things. But you love the heck out of her anyway, don'tcha?
