Senator Joe Lieberman (I - His Own Butt), will reportedly announce tomorrow that he won't be seeking re-election next year, because he won't win. And, by denying us the thrill of watching him lose, America's greatest political troll strikes again!
My opinion: Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Of course, that conclusion assumes that what comes after him will in any way be better. Remember, this is the same state that brought us Linda McMahon. ;)

Sigh...there is that.

I'm surprised this thread went nowhere, I would have thought it would have brought about a discussion. Oh, well, I try...

I kinda thought it would spark a discussion too - but then I realized that Lieberman is pretty universally despised on both the left AND the right, so it's no real shock that nobody's too broken up about seeing the end of his Senate career.

I'm sure he'll have a lucrative future as an insurance lobbyist.

Undoubtedly. He's a lousy Zionist as well, because he supports the Israeli govt. No matter what it does, even if it's suicidal. I mean, people talk about whether this war has made ts country less safe, but there is no question that it has made Israel less safe. Not that they don't sew some of that themselves, siege on gaza, etc. but thats the sort of policy that should be supported.

ETA: yes, he definitely has a future as a lobbyist, except, don't they have to have charm? I guess not, he undoubtedly has senate connections, people who owe him favors, which he can then sell to Lockheed Martin or whomever. (he'd probably just give them to Israel. See. You gotta be less of a pushover if you want to negotiate.) <- btw, at the risk of being flamed, this is a common democrat problem. They make the error in both directions. Not only do they easily flip flop. But they also won't compromise enough with things that are actually worth something to the right. If they did, they might get the right to give something up. If they actually made the trade instead of just caving.

Brought you Linda? Man, you gays are a strange lot. My great state ONLY gives you crack pot liberals. Every conressman we have is a liberal. Same with our senators. You should be thrilled that connecticut will send you another liberal money spending whore. Shit you should move here. You'd love the debt, the entitlements, the state budget battles are to die for.......Homo.
