Can the press go cold turkey on all things Palin for the month of February?

Of course it can't. The former Alaska governor is a guaranteed source of interest, and in 2011, that translates into the ever-important category of web traffic and page views. Indeed, google "Palin" and some 36.4 million web pages will appear for your perusing pleasure.

But amid a sense that we've all gone overboard, veteran Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank has pledged that February will be Palin free.

And he's asking the rest of us to join him. Make no mention of Palin for the entire month of February, Milbank writes in his column, noting that he's written about her in 42 columns since she was chosen by John McCain to be his vice presidential candidate in 2008.

In his essay, Milbank also notes the tally for the stable of Washington Post and New York Times political columnists: Eugene Robinson (33 Palin mentions), Paul Krugman (14), Kathleen Parker (30) and Maureen Dowd (45), according to Milbank's count. "We need help," Milbank says.

So will the boycott last? As an insight into the mutually beneficial relationship between the press and Palin, it might be worth noting that Milbank chose the shortest month of the year to hold his boycott.

Ah, so the media has finally begun to realize that said bimbo is the political equivalent of an internet troll - about damn time, you ask me.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

It seems even the right-wing has gotten tired of her. She walked off a cliff- whining all the way, and they decided not to follow. Good on them.

Loverly indeed. Though I think I'd be even happier if they made a New Year's resolution on the matter. How loverly would that be?

I do not need the written code of a spiritual belief to act like a decent human being.

What delusions, JSF? I reported a column, agreed with it, and mentioned how nice it would be if it were to come true. It seems to me YOUR delusion about finding a "delusion" in what I posted...but I'm curious to know, nonetheless, how you twisted that around in your mind to come up with "delusion"...

Oh, if you mean Olbermann... I've stated repeatedly that I don't watch him anymore and haven't for quite some time, so I can't figure that one out either...

Yes, Rose, that WOULD be pleasant. Not to be, tho', no doubt. That's okay, I find her sadly amusing anyway.
