And yet, black males WERE murdered by the government.

Of course their names are in computers. You're just too full of arrogance and false pride to admit you got pwn3d. ;)

Michelle Bachman appeals to that segment of the Republican Party that REALLY likes Sarah Palin, but is worried that she might be just a bit too intellectual....

This is true.

However, the batshit crazy stuff she has said, and was read in-context - THAT is what makes her crazy.

Oh, gawd, Blue, that's a GREAT one! Thank you.

--Just shared it with Jim, who really laughed, and said "that's great!", so it's not just my opinion. Well done! Admittedly, the phraseology of Mike's was better, but the concept of yours is a winner.

Absolutely I will. If and when that happens. There were no guardsmen who shot / killed any number of black men in New Orleans, and then dumped their bodies into the swamp. That's an absolute fact. It can't be denied, so when anyone makes up this crap about 2 random incidents which involved the NOPD, that's not the same thing!! It is completely different than anything remotely to what Jihad Cindy claimed.

Hey, don't be quoting me then saying "you" as if I'm involved in your meaningless argument with Mike, which has nothing whatsoever to do with the topic at hand! I haven't said WORD ONE about that side issue, so leave me out of it.

Personally, I think Mike engages you in this kind of idiocy just to get your goat, which is fair because that's what you do to almost everyone else.

I maintain, however, that you will never, never admit you are wrong, no matter the facts, no matter how patently wrong you are shown to be. I can't recall ever seing you do so and have no expectations you ever will. When you post something, however absurd it might be, you will ALWAYS find a way to either rationalize it, dismiss the facts disproving it, threadjack to something else, toss out personal insults or run away. That's what I'm accustomed to and I can't remember any particular time when it was ever different.

I don't see this as necessarily anti-science in and of itself. Sure, to anyone stupid enough to say that something is 100% made up while still citing instances that did happen.

So, for 99% of rational humans, those who can distinguish between "some" and "none" it was nonsensical.

But sure, in Rappyland, I'm sure it made total sense.

Here's an idea... why don't you cease w/ the bullshit and actually cite where I was wrong. Spell it out, and give specific examples. I know you won't, you'll just yammer on about 99% or 100 % or some nonsensical shit.

The story didn't happen. PERIOD. If you can't prove me wrong, then shut the fuck up.

You guys are taking all the fun out of this thread. It's about BACHMAN, y'know? Not about how insane some other person is/was (which has nothing to do with Bachman anyway), not Raptor's ability to threadjack, be wrong, insult people, etc.

Which one of you's gonna give it up? Considering there will never be any agreement, and Raptor can keep this up probably longer than you can (just so's he can say you 'ran away' or were 'proven wrong'), it's becoming more and more assinine to keep it going. Just sayin'.

Hmm, definitely I was provocative in the language I used. A tiny minority of climate scientists doubt that human emissions are having a significant effect; while a far larger share of the political world, bloggers and pundits - mainly on the right, are vocally skeptical.

It's not so much about folk being 'anti-science' I think, but 'anti-scientific establishment'. Whether or not this is a healthy attitude for society to take towards the scientific world I guess is up for debate. I'm against it.

Ah, I see. While I think it's healthier to have people question the authenticity of the 'elite's science' rather then feed the ivory tower syndrome, I worry that this does lead some to adopt an 'anti-science' attitude.

I don't want to open a global warming debate here, but it's similar to how I feel concerning climate change. Based off of the science I understand and my college geology professor's views and explanation, it seems humans have a very limited ability to impact the earth in that respect at all and the idea that it is because of our carbons is absurd. However, I do like that the this hoax has led (or so we have been told) to cleaner and more efficient energy, research into renewable energy and (I hope) one day ending our dependence on fossil fuels.

It's frustrating when you disagree with the principles but it seems the only way to achieve desired results. In the end I decided that since my own ability impact the situation is so limited, I might as well be true to myself. I could never become a politician, I'd hate to come across a situation where I have to endorse an idea (or lie even) I don't agree because it seems the only way to get positive results.

No, Raptor, you have in no way "established" that Bachman isn't crazy, you've expressed your OPINION that she's not, but nothing more. You wrote
Quote:

Reading over the 10 listed examples given, I see nothing 'crazy' in her words at all.
and
Quote:

It doesn't make her 'crazy' to be on the other side of the fence here.... she - like all politicians - will misspeak and get some finer points wrong, but she's far from 'crazy'.
It has nothing to do with her being “on the other side”, it has to do with the insane statements she has made. Because YOU don’t think she’s crazy in no way refutes the position of others who think she IS.

You went off on a tangent about someone else, which has nothing to do with Bachman. But if you think things like
Quote:

It is the mother of all ironies that the kids who voted en mass for Barack Obama are the ones being fitted for shackles and chains

No one that I know disagrees with natural selection — that you can take various breeds of dogs ... breed them, you get different kinds of dogs.... There’s a real lack of evidence from change from actual species to a different type of species. That's where it's difficult to prove (“breeds” ARE two different “types” of a species)

It is horrific to know that in the African American community, 50 percent of all African American pregnancies in the United States end in abortion, 50 percent.... There are Americans all across this country who would love to adopt African American babies, but they can't because 50 percent of all African American pregnancies today are ending in abortion

we will see that young people will be put into mandatory service. And the real concerns is that there are provisions for what I would call re-education camps for young people

America is NOT going to survive if we keep killing approximately a million unborn children each year.

America is NOT going to survive if we keep killing approximately a million unborn children each year.

the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States

there isn’t even one study that can be produced that shows carbon dioxide is a harmful gas

aren’t crazy statements, that’s your problem and I'm sorry for you. Or maybe you prefer to see them as deliberate lies, because if she actually believes what she says, she’s crazy; if she’s saying it for effect, she’s just lying.

People who say things like "I just think it's an interesting coincidence" generally really DON'T think it's just an interesting coincidence. Kind of like when someone says "I don't mean to sound racist, but..." - you KNOW they're about to say something horribly racist!

Rappy actually HAS run away from this board before, and quit in a fit of pique and disappeared in a cloud of asinine. It lasted a few months, and was quite nice while it lasted.

But back to Bachmann. What crazy-ass thing has she done today? I swear that goddam woman has five helpings of batshit before most of us are even awake in the morning.

I'm still waiting for her to tell us all she's not a witch. That always seems to work out really well.

I think there's far more evidence for her craziness than there is for your baseless claim that she's *not* crazy. Pointing to the five guys in the asylum dressed as Napoleon doesn't mean the guy dressed as Hitler is okay. McKinney's a wingnut, and generally treated like one. Bachmann's every bit as nutty in her own whacky way, but the GOP treats her like she's The One™.

Care to show me where I ever said I "hate" witches? Heck, it was the GOP who hated witches enough to bounce O'Donnell from her shot at the Senate.
