The Transportation Security Administration is again facing scrutiny after a passenger posted a photo of airport screeners patting down a baby at Kansas City International Airport, The Associated Press reports.

The incident occurred Saturday, when TSA agents patted down a baby after its stroller set off alarms. A nearby passenger -- The Rev. Jacob Jester -- thought the measure was a bit much, so he snapped a picture.

Jester, described by the New York Daily News as "an Evangelical minister," says he didn't mean to draw national attention with his tweet, according to the Kansas City Star.

But when Jester referenced the photo via a Tweet on Twitter, it "went rival," AP says, adding it is "again sparking debate on whether airport security procedures have gotten out of hand."

As for Jester's Tweet, the Daily News says it read: "Just saw #tsa agents patting down a little baby at @KCIAirport. Pretty sure that's extreme."

The related photo has already been viewed more than 300,000 times, according to MSNBC.

The TSA, which has been questioned in a number of screening incidents during the past few months, says the situation in Kansas City was handled correctly.

"The child in the photo was simply receiving a modified pat-down," the agency says via its blog.

The TSA adds it "has reviewed the screening of this family and determined that the officers involved followed proper current screening procedures...The family was very cooperative and the process was completed without incident."
