"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

Still too much a coward to answer a direct question, I see.

You keep dodging this, so I'll keep reposting it:

Do you still claim that Weiner himself claimed that Andrew Breitbart hacked his account? Yes or no. Stand by your earlier lie and show everyone here once and for all that you're a lying sack of shit, or man the hell up, admit you were lying, and apologize.

I'm willing to bet that you're not man enough to do the latter.

So far, for a day now, you've proven me 100% correct. You ARE too big a coward to admit your failures.

Sending those pictures was stupid, but lying about it was assanine. He definitely made some mistakes here, and I think it should be up to his constituants whether he should be asked to leave since he isn't resigning. Is it the worst thing he could have done? Probably not, but its still bad and the lying made it wayyyyyyy worse from an integrity standpoint, that's what would push his constituants towards telling him he's done.

Weiner's arrogance and selfishness are what I see as the most glaring issues. That he staunchly denied this stuff for 10 days, and admonished reporters who were trying to cover the story, even going so far as to call one of them a jackass.

That's not going to win you many friends on the Hill.

With out Googling, I'm gonna guess that quote is from Matilda.

Madame Geezer's take on a guy named Weiner sending pictures of his, well, weiner package was, "You couldn't write this. No one would buy it". She also wonders how so many people in positions of authority can be so stupid about emailing lewd pictures, hitting on staff, etc. I agree.

NIKI2

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Quote:

Breitbart, much the the scorn of the Left, has an impeccable record of reporting the facts.
I’m not going to TOUCH that one, it’s so far beyond the pale, only say that numerous investigations have proven otherwise. I’ll let others:
Quote:

Breitbart repeatedly claimed that the videos depicted "illegal activity," with O'Keefe and Giles likewise accusing ACORN of aiding in "criminal" actions. But investigations by California's attorney general, Brooklyn's district attorney, and an independent investigator hired by ACORN all determined that the videos showed no such illegal activity.

After Brooklyn prosecutors cleared ACORN, Breitbart embarrassingly backtracked on his previous accusation of ACORN criminality, tweeting that the "ACORN tapes were less about 'criminality' than facility with which employees all knew how to work system for any lowlife wanting govmnt $."

The California and Brooklyn investigations also shined a spotlight on how Giles and O'Keefe had deceptively edited the tapes to "meet their agenda." California Attorney General Jerry Brown said the videos created a "highly selective editing of reality."

Meanwhile, a central pillar of the ACORN attacks -- that O'Keefe "dressed as a pimp" during his meeting with ACORN officials -- was unraveling. Breitbart eventually acknowledged that he himself had been unaware that O'Keefe had entered the offices dressed in slacks and a dress shirt, not the outlandish pimp costume O'Keefe wore in the tapes' opening sequences.

Numerous right-wing media figures backed away from O'Keefe following his arrest, while Breitbart -- who had previously acknowledged that he paid O'Keefe "a fair salary" -- denied any knowledge of his activities, then accused the U.S. attorney of having "frame[d]" O'Keefe "in media." O'Keefe later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for his role in the incident.

In July, the NAACP released a resolution calling on Tea Party activists to repudiate the movement's racist elements. In retaliation, Breitbart posted a 2 minute and 36 second clip that he claimed showed Agriculture Department official Shirley Sherrod telling a "racist tale" to an NAACP audience about her supposed past discrimination against a white farmer.

But when Sherrod and the farmer she had supposedly discriminated against came forward to tell their stories and the NAACP released the full video of Sherrod's comments, it became clear that the clip Breitbart posted had been ripped from context, and the smear completely dissolved.

With his concocted smear on the rocks, Breitbart began hurling a variety of bizarre (and false) accusations in hopes of preserving his credibility -- all while alternating between declaring himself "sympathetic" to Sherrod's "plight" after the media supposedly "made it about her," and continuing to suggest that Sherrod is a racist.

The scandal took on a new light after Dr. Kevin Pezzi was invited by Breitbart to repost two pieces accusing Sherrod of racism on BigGovernment.com. After we exposed Pezzi as a racist who claims to be responsible for "over 850 inventions" and schemes such as a "magic bullet" for cancer, a "robotic chef," and sexual inventions like "penile enlargement techniques" and "ways to tighten the vagina," Breitbart pulled Pezzi's posts from his site and apologized.

Unimpressed with his wild claims, media of all stripes condemned Breitbart as untrustworthy and his actions as "a classic example of what is wrong with our national discourse."

From top of the world to too toxic for network television -- Breitbart has come a long way in a year. But while he's lost credibility with virtually everyone else, he's still a welcome member of the conservative media elite.

’Nuff said.

On the other hand,
Quote:

Weiner's arrogance and selfishness are what I see as the most glaring issues. That he staunchly denied this stuff for 10 days, and admonished reporters who were trying to cover the story, even going so far as to call one of them a jackass.
With that I absolutely agree.
Quote:

She also wonders how so many people in positions of authority can be so stupid about emailing lewd pictures, hitting on staff, etc. I agree.
I agree with Madame Geezer and you, too.

Quote:

weiner had an apology for breitbart because weiner allowed the media to personally attack bb .... actually, i think the whole story....after looking at it....is nothing
my gawd, I agree with Kane and HE agrees with ME! Will wonders never cease!

THAT was what I put the initial thread up about, Raptor, tho’ you keep ignoring it: Because I thought it was a stupid story unworthy of attention. I even titled it “Weiner’s not the weiner” and followed with “the press is, and anyone who pays attention to it”. It wasn’t about Weiner, it was about our unending fascination with people’s private lives and how the media makes HUGE stories out of what should be either small stories or non-stories. I realize you need to score some kind of “points”, Raptor, but the LIE was that my thread was about Weiner himself...along with the other lies that I looked to him as a leader, claimed he was innocent, and whatever else you claimed about me.
Quote:

It's on par with stepping up on a soap box in the middle of a square and screaming to anyone who'll listen that you don't think that what you're yelling about should be paid attention to, by anyone, so everyone should just go about their business and not pay any mind to what ever the the hell it is you're screaming about...
Not even slightly. It’s akin to writing a column expressing exasperation that people will pay attention to idiocy like this—-so MUCH attention--when there are valid stories out there which should get our attention. Which is precisely what I wrote. As have MANY columnists and pundits when scandals like this have grabbed the entire nation’s attention.

Lastly, I agree with whoever said it should be up to his constituents to vote him out if they think this makes him a bad representative, not the public, media or anyone else.

Yes, even slightly. In fact, it's darn near exactly that. You want to write a 'column' , or blog your views ? Go post them on your own Firefly log. Or even better, keep your views to yourself, and then we'd not have to hear about the story that's not a story, but you felt it worthy enough to point out that it wasn't a story, making it a story anyways...

Should Weiner resign? I dunno. Barney Frank had a gay brothel running out of his D.C. condo, and still kept his seat.

D.C. Mayor Marion Barry was caught on video, in a hotel room, w/ a prostitute, smoking crack. He gets re-elected.

So, unless more comes out and Weiner is tossed out by some growing ethics investigation, and he doesn't resign, sure... it'll be up to those who put him there in the 1st place, the voters.

And if they're fine w/ having an arrogant, 2 timing dirt bag who doesn't have an ounce of credibility , even with his own party leadership...go for it.

Just be sure you know who it is your support.

Y'know, for all your continual posting of the latest "updates" on this non-story, you'd think you could at least find SOME evidence to back your ridiculous lie that Weiner himself accused Breitbart of hacking his accounts.

I'm still curious as to why you insist that you're right on that one, and yet you refuse to post up even a scintilla of backing evidence. And now you keep dodging the issue completely, and refusing to answer the question:

Will you stand by your lie, or will you admit you were lying and apologize?

Anyone with any shred of decency or honor would do the latter; why can't you? Hell, Weiner did, so he's obviously the bigger man.

Oh, the pleasure is all mine. I haven't had this much fun showing people what a worthless ass you are since your whole cry-baby little Jack Murtha rant, when you posted up your own rant, reminiscent of the "Leave Britney ALONE!" video. Prior to that, it was your little "I'm quitting this place!" rant that was the funniest of your itty-bitty temper tantrums.

By all means, PLEASE keep this post at the top of the forum list, because it just keeps reminding everyone that when called on one of your countless lies, you steadfastly refuse to acknowledge the truth, you refuse to offer any apology or mea culpa, and you double-down on your stupidity.

So yes, please keep it up. Heck, I'll post it in my every response on every part of this forum if it will make you happy, and I'll keep right on asking until you address the question and post up your proof or apologize for lying to all of us.

It doesn't seem to have slowed down David Vitter or Newt Gingrich (who you have called "a great American" and "a patriot" for his two-timing and lying about it).

Did Mark Sandford resign when his lying and affairs were revealed? Did he resign when it came to light that he used government funds to conduct his affairs?

How about John Ensign? Did he resign as soon as his lying, bribery, indiscretions, and ethics violations were revealed?

More to the point, did YOU call for any and all of them to resign?

Why do you support two-timing, lying, cheating scumbags?

Well apparently Raptor is indeed worth something to me because he got my Matilda quote right, he says without googling and I'm choosing to believe him, nicely done Raptor. That is one of my favorite movies from my girlhood. I've noticed I quote movies a lot. Sometimes I don't get the quotes perfect, but I think the gist comes across and this one was fitting since Raptor was all "I'm right you're wrong".

Are you a little girl, too?

'Cause I'm not picking on a fictional character in a movie. I'm picking on YOU, by comparing you to a little girl. You really do have trouble discerning fiction from reality, don't you? That's three times this week - at least - that you've gotten them mixed up!

"... out of your"? "I'm use to it"?

Classic.

So tell me something, super-genius:

Why do you continue to steadfastly REFUSE to produce ANY evidence that Weiner accused Breitbart of hacking his accounts. You're lying, you've been called on it, and you've been challenged to prove your case. Yet you persist in producing ZERO evidence, screaming "I'm right! I'M RIGHT!", and running away from the issue.

You won't provide evidence, because you have none at all.

Prove me wrong. Go ahead. We'll all wait. Here's your big chance to prove yourself. What have you got? Why won't you answer the question?

You really don't read so well, do you?

I pointed out that I was picking on YOU by COMPARING you to a little girl. The only way I "picked on" any little girl at all is if you're saying you're a little girl. I know you act like one, but you've indicated in the past that you aren't.

So that whole line about "not from anything *I* ever said" was yet another in a long series of lies from you, yes?

It's just so easy to show how much of a liar you are; all I need to do is let you speak, and you'll prove me right every time!

As for "going back 3 years", not really. Going to Google and doing a keyword search was all it took. Less than a minute.

Hey - maybe you could use that to prove your case about Weiner directly accusing Breitbart of hacking his accounts!

Unless you're willing to finally admit that you were lying all along when you made that idiotic claim.

I'd ask " huh? " , but then that might lead you to the mistaken idea that I even care what you're thinking.

Or why.

And yet you can't stop responding to me. You don't care, but you can't stop. A conundrum, isn't it?

You were so worked up into a rage of faux indignation when you thought I was "picking on" a fictional little girl in a movie, but you're perfectly happy to make sexual innuendos about underage girls at every opportunity. Sure, you were "joking", and sure, you "didn't know" they were underage. Did you just happen to bring some Mike's Hard Lemonade for your "date", too? What clued you in that they were underage? Was it when Chris Hansen walked in?

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

And Rappy, as usual, has bailed. From his very own thread, even.

How convenient.

You want to write a 'column' , or blog your views ? Go post them on your own Firefly log. Or even better, keep your views to yourself, and then we'd not have to hear about the story that's not a story, but you felt it worthy enough to point out that it wasn't a story, making it a story anyways...

TRULY hysterical. You don’t need reminding that anyone can put post anything they want here, whether you approve of it or not. You already know that. I’ve understand; you’ve found a subject you can keep goading us on and Mike at least will keep replying, thereby giving you the attention you need. You really must have a pitiable life.

I hope Sig is right and Raptor's found somewhere else to play, I didn’t even bother to read the rest of this, as it’s all you and Raptor playing “neener neener” like six year olds.

America loves a winner!

Weiner pulls out.

Amazingly, many in NY think he should have stayed. Did nothing wrong... All the better that he's gone.
