Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

If you research my posts here, you will see that long, long, ago...

I was a supporter of the Iraq war.

It did not take long for that support to crumble and change, but I do credit lessons I learned on this very forum to helping open my eyes on that topic.

That, and the abominable actions of our government in the process of prosecuting that war.

You might say I've been turned 180 degrees on that topic.

On other topics, such as the Insidious Socialist Gambit known as Universal Health Care, I have also changed my viewpoint from a firm "No, I will not solicit charity from behind the barrel of a gun" to "Maybe, if we can figure out how to make it work reasonably. I sure don't want people dying for lack of medicine."

So it can happen. It can even happen more than once.

CTULU 2012, why vote for a lesser evil ?
Nah Mikey, I think it was just an accidental damn-you-spellcheck/autocorrect issue, honestly.

You'll have to wait a little longer Nix, it's been pounding down like the freakin monsoons out there, AND we keep losing power due to shitty infrastructure and lightning melting wiring, gah...
Not riskin my new toy getting water damaged, although I have a bowhunters rain suit and heavy jackboot galoshoes so I'll be ok.
(Yes, I own a set of jackboots, lol)

Anthony, I'll forever treasure the clash of wills that was our first encounter, cause it went from "imma rip this fuckers head off!" to "oh, hey, voice of reason, cool." in less than a day, but you didn't know that, of course, heheheh.

Frem, I remember that "argument". I found it very interesting, especially in how strongly some felt about it and how contentious it got.

Mike, if you lump all prisons as "concentration camps", and you figure history into the equation, we've got far FEWER of those than other countries throughout history. I accept calling Gitmo one, tho' there's a gigantic difference between them and Nazi concentration camps, and certainly you could call what was done to the Japanese here in California "concentration camps" (tho', again, there's no comparison), but prisons? There's a whole lot wrong with them--especially the very concept of prison-for-profit, but they're not concentration camps, by a long shot. The ones Frem has battled are closer to the definition, in my opinion.

Frem, I can wait for the goodies, last thing I want is you out there hobbling around in a storm! And keep that puppy dry, a good one is worth its weight in gold! You won't mind, I hope, if I wait with much anticipation, however, will 'ya?

Well, it takes in avi format at 640x480, which is a kinda largish format and I dunno (yet) how to convert it to a cleaner format like MP4 and reduce the filesize, but I got a clip of Kallista counter-browsing, kinda sorta, as a test shot I can send.

Hello Frem,

If you need something converted to a smaller format, and you can get it to me, I'd be happy to take care of it.

Yeah, but I'd rather know how myself - not that I ain't touched by your offer of assistance, but since I shall also be using this in a work-related fashion and at some point may have to process vid uptake as evidence, chain of custody issues arise, yadda yadda, so knowing the how would be of much more use - ain't like I don't have the PC power for it, considering my comp will stomp an Alienware Aurora into the ground....

And I use it to play retro games, lol - makes Rev wanna tear his hair out, heh.

I'll send ya the clip anyways just for your own amusement.

Wow. It looks just like a qoute from all the Democratic pundits and bloggers you posted above saying "Where are the jobs, Republicans?"

And BTW, where are the jobs the President and Democrats promised in 2008? They've had since January 2009, and for two years a majority in both houses. Hardly seems fair to give the Republicans a hard time for not creating jobs in seven months when the Dems have had so little success in 31 months.

Hello,

I will confirm this once I receive the clip to work with, but I believe the distasteful (but free) Windows Live Movie Maker will be able to incorporate the clip and publish as a movie to any size desired.

If I can get it to work, I'll give you the skinny. It'll be easy. Maybe a two-step.

That's truly pathetic. I responded to your question; you didn't like the sources; I showed it's the claim made by Boehner HIMSELF (isn't he the head of some Republican group in the legislature somewhere?) showing the same thing; THAT's yourr esponse? Wow.

We're not discussing previous situations. We're talking about the current Republicans, who were elected on their major claim that they would create jobs, which they have not done. THAT is the issue.

Exactly.

Read the Boehner statements again. Where in them does he propose that the Republicans are going to create jobs?

Nowhere.

Instead, the statements ask again and again, "Where are the jobs the president promised in exchange for the billions of dollars already spent?”

It's a series of attacks on the Democrats for not providing jobs, as their National platform promises in the first section. http://www.workinglife.org/storage/users/4/4/images/111/2008%20democra
tic%20platform%20080808.pdf

In that way, it's the mirror image of the liberal pundits you quoted earlier up the thread complaining that Republicans haven't created jobs.

That's true. But you can look to see which way things are going.

It's a little like standing on the tracks and watching a train come at you. Maybe it will derail. Maybe it will dump sand, halt and reverse. Maybe aliens will suck it off the tracks. Maybe it will get hit with a nuclear bomb and vaporize. What will happen is not 100% certain. But in all likelihood, it will come down the tracks in your direction. So what should you do?

* Teachers are paid $400,000/year, takes 20 years and $1.5-million to fire 1 teacher

* Cops are paid $200,000/year to rob citizens at gunpoint and cities must file bankruptcy to terminate police union contracts

* Planned Parenthood was paid $1-billion by the taxslaves to genocide 100-million US citizens

* NPR and PBS are paid billions by the taxslaves for propaganda and to overthrow community radio and TV

* Obama exempted BP from paying damages in the Gulf by having taxslaves pay that debt, and gave BP all the oil in Iraq and Alaska for export to Communist China.

* The $35-trillion bankster bailouts for the jews came from Demorats and Republicons in Congress and White House

* Demorats and Republicons have perped treason by allowing a private foreign jew bank to counterfeit all so-called "dollars" and steal all fed income taxes.

* Demorats have perped treason by refusing to enforce immigration laws against 50-million criminal aliens and paying them billions in welfare and Social Security (even when they paid zero in SS taxes and never worked in USA).

And while I WISH it were true that Ron Paul WAS the only TP member, the sad reality is that the TP is filled with lunatic racist fundamentalists.

Sorry dude.

Every point I made is true, proven by 100s of corporate news articles and government press releases on govt websites.

It's amazing that USA is in the middle of a Civil War, with mass slaughter in American streets and foreign powers overthrowing USA, yet sheeple keep following the pied pipers of propaganda into the death camps. Guess that fluoride was a good investment for the stinking Jew World Odor.

Oh, Geezer...you work so HARD at trying to weasel out of everything, it makes me almost sad for you...almost. The JOHN BOEHNER WEBSITE front page reads: "Video: From Party Mantra To National Rallying Cry, “Where Are The Jobs?” Further down, are NOTHING BUT a list of incidents of Republicans "asking, ‘Where are the jobs?’”; "repeating the refrain: ‘Where are the jobs?’”; "Republican campaign argument" (note it doesn't say "one of"); "taunted Obama with a familiar refrain: Where are the jobs "; "Republicans, who have adopted ‘where are the jobs?’ as a rallying cry"; "Republicans demanding to know ‘where are the jobs?’ — the refrain adopted by the House Republican leader"; "“Republicans have made "where are the jobs?" their mantra…”; " ‘Where are the jobs?’ – a theme in GOP campaign stump speeches"; " demanding to know ‘where are the jobs?’"

The entire PAGE is devoted to it being their mantra, their taunt, their refrain, their rallying cry, their theme. That proves my point, as well as the fact that "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!" WAS their major focus throughout their bids for election, but you'll die before admitting it. Fine, obviously facts mean nothing to you, so I won't bother further. Dems also talked about it, but they didn't make it their focus the way Repubs did (thereby capitalizing on the fears of the American people) then start right out doing nothing but making laws about same-sex marriage, abortion, etc. (not to mention that the Dems DID try to create jobs--remember the stimulus? It created a few, and would have created more if it had been big enough.

Aside from which, the stimulus hasn't all been spent and is slated for infrastructure and other things as it's spent. What have the Repubs done to create jobs? They've KILLED jobs in the public sector, given jobs to prisoners, shut down places which provided jobs, and "created" jobs that are only minimum wage with no benefits.

The entire point of my post was that Repubs made "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!" their rallying cry during the election, then once elected went on to focus on social issues and doing things that KILLED jobs. I've more than made my point, not just that it was their mantra, but what they did after BEING elected, so I'm not bothering further with you. Your squirming is boring and pathetic, it's no debating the point.

Well, that's not entirely true, Niki. Rick Perry, for instance, HAS created quite a few jobs. Unfortunately for him, a great many of them were GOVERNMENT JOBS. Kinda makes it hard to run on the idea that "government cannot create jobs" and that "big government is bad" when your signature accomplishment is to increase the size of the big government by using it to create government jobs...

Based on the stuff you posted from the JOHN BOEHNER WEBSITE, the Republicans made "Where are the jobs the Democrats promised?" their rallying cry during the election, not a pledge that the Republicans were going to create "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!". If you can't see the difference, I agree that there's no point in discussing this further.
