On Monday evening it was learned that US Attorney General Eric Holder lied to a congressional committee while testifying about his knowledge of the Obama Regime's Operation Fast and Furious "Gunwalking" scandal.

Memos from Department of Justice operatives directed to Holder himself leave no doubt that the DOJ was receiving constant updates on the Operation as early as mid 2010.

During his May 3rd testimony before the Grassley/Issa Congressional Committee, Holder was asked when he had first learned of Operation Fats and Furious. "I'm not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Fruious for the first time over the last few weeks," Holder responded.

But that was a lie. Documents detailing the existence and progress of Fast and Furious were directed to Holder by Michael F. Walther, the head of the National Drug Intelligence Center and by his own Assistant AG, Lanny Breuer in 2010.

A heavily redacted July 5th, 2010 memo from Walther to Holder details the work of the Phoenix Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) working in conjunction with the ATF on Operation Fast and Furious. And this was a “weekly report"!

And a November 2010 memorandum from assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer to Holder further updates Fast and Furious, even reporting current indictments and the number of firearms already known to have "walked" across the Mexican border.

So it is an undeniable fact that Eric Holder has committed perjury. And no excuse that the Operation had simply slipped his mind is likely to work, except of course with the always supportive and understanding mainstream media.

“….consequences for a Republican Attorney General, had he lied so blatantly and deliberately….. But will Holder lose his job over his perjured testimony?...

ATF Fast and Furious guns turned up in El Paso

They were being stored for shipment to Mexico, documents show. It's the first case of vanished weapons from the surveillance program showing up on this side of the border outside the Phoenix area.

September 29, 2011|By Richard A. Serrano, Washington Bureau
Reporting from Washington — A cache of assault weapons lost in the ATF's gun-trafficking surveillance operation in Phoenix turned up in El Paso, where it was being stored for shipment to Mexico, according to new internal agency emails and federal court records.

Forty firearms along with ammunition magazines and ballistic vests were discovered in Texas in January 2010 during the early stages of the program, meaning the firearms vanished soon after the program began.

After new documents suggested Attorney General Eric Holder may have contradicted himself over comments about the Fast and Furious gun program, Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) called on President Barack Obama to appoint a special counsel to determine if Holder lied to Congress.

“I write to urge you to instruct the Department of Justice to appoint a special counsel to determine whether Members of Congress were misled by the Attorney General during his recent testimony before the House Judiciary Committee,” wrote Smith, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, on Tuesday.

“Allegations that senior Justice Department officials may have intentionally misled Members of Congress are extremely troubling and must be addressed by an independent and objective special counsel. I urge you to appoint a special counsel who will investigate these allegations as soon as possible,” Smith added.

Documents released on Monday suggest that Holder knew about the Fast and Furious gun program well before he told Congress in testimony that he had first become aware of it.

The documents include a memo to Holder from Michael F. Walter, director of the National Drug Intelligence Center, dated July 5, 2010, that mentions Fast and Furious.

But in May 2011, Holder told the House Judiciary Committee that he had only recently learned about Fast and Furious.

“When did you first know about the program, officially known as Fast and Furious?” asked Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“I’m not sure of the exact date, but I probably heard about Fast and Furious for the first time over the last few weeks,” Holder replied.

Under the program, weapons were allowed to be illegally purchased in the Phoenix area so that they could be tracked to gun traffickers and drug cartel leaders. But the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives lost track of these firearms, and many were allowed to cross into Mexico.

This guy has been a complete disaster from the start. Not prosecuting the NBP for their election day thuggery, wanting to try KSM in Manhattan, calling us cowards for not wanting to have the 'race' discussion, and now this.

This is bigger than Watergate, and the Dems better hope it only goes as far as Holder.

If Obama starts lying and covering it up, it sure as hell will be. The crime of walking guns across the border, perjury, and the deaths of at least 2 US agents... yeah, this is bigger than the break in already.

To the title of the thread.

No.

He won't lose his job, or even face prosecution. He'll be shifted around after the next election.
