Hello,

It is always a shame when the police find themselves in riot gear, regarding their fellow human beings as whiny and petulant, and devoting resources doing something the citizens do not need and do not expect them to do.

I share your frustration that the police are busting the occupy crowd instead of doing what the citizenry wants from them.

Maybe I'm the only person on Earth who remembers this from last summer, but didn't the Oakland Police Department also say they didn't have time to respond to burglaries, grand theft, and a host of other crimes, and that people would pretty much be on their own?

Quote:

Chief Anthony Batts listed exactly 44 situations that his officers will no longer respond to and they include grand theft, burglary, car wrecks, identity theft and vandalism. He says if you live in Oakland and one of the above happens to you, you need to let police know on-line.

Amazing that they're able to respond to a group peaceably assembled to petition their government for a redress of grievances. You wouldn't think they'd have the time!

Which is what the job demands, like it or not. Chris seems to have a real tough time seeing that he and I actually agree on this matter. However, when he or you say it, it's received one way, and when I say it, the message some how gets flipped on its head.

No broader than you do, and your reply ignores what I actually DID say, on THIS matter.

Yeah, nice juvenile reply. How old are you..12 ?

I said the ones who are in riot gear are every bit as likely the SAME ones who'd respond to the armed robbery call, or the very cops Biden says we need to save our wives, daughters and sisters from being raped.

Funny, you'll use the police as props, to get your precious bills passed, but once they're called into action to restore order , they're " pigs " and " gestapo thugs ".

Which is it ?

Once again - your own words prove you to be a liar.

But that's par for the course.

Um, technically they weren't the same cops, they were a security force hired in for the extra duty, according to the Oakland Mayor. Assuming she's not telling us a fib or covering to save her backside, which she could be.

There's never been a case where you can show I "lied" on here.

So unless you have an actual reply and want to TRY to participate in this thread like a human being, please, don't waste anyone's time w/ more childish crap.

Your right it does ignore what you said on the topic. I was not replying to that point.

No, no one on this site uses such broad strokes as you do. You conversation style can be summed up this way....

Byte a chara,
I think sometimes its best not to ponder too much. What your granddad did or didn't do in the police force had no bearing on your growing up years spent with him. It is only as someone who knows the dangers and pitfalls of the world that you wonder. It sounds like he was a fun granddad and that's as it should be. Sometimes its better not to know. Plus its possible that he was a good cop who did what he felt was right and did his best to avoid Serpicoesque snares.

Yay Highlander, there can be only one!!!!
