Allright comrades, lets play a new game shall we? This is the thread where we list positive attributes of the other posters here. I bet everyone can think of at least one positive thing, or commonality that they have, with/for each main member here. As much as we irritate each other it can be nice to think about the good things we see in each other.

Byte: A good friend, trustworthy, sensative, cares about humanity, understanding, likes being outdoors, a talented writer.

Niki: Passionate, cares about people and animals, willing to stand up for what she believes in, sociable, devoted.

Raptor: Likes geology and nature, persistant.

Quicko: Relatable, sociable, reflective, learns from experience.

Signe: Informative, a good caregiver, wants what she feels will help others to happen, protective.

Magon's: Unique, clever, multi dementional, is quite nice once you get to know her.

Some more later.

Go for it. And I'm sure someone is going to come in here and say mean things like "So and so doesn't have any positive attributes." Please save it for another thread, this is a happy thread.

Frem: Ornery bastard. (I say that with all the affection I can feel for someone I've never met.) Wise beyond his years, passionate about children's rights, smart as the dickens, and enjoys anime and TV tropes. First person on this board that I turn to whenever I need real-life help.

HKCavalier: Blows people away with both extraordinary insights AND unsurpassed eloquence.

AnthonyT: Principled, consistent, treats everyone with dignity and respect. Which is saying a LOT on this board. Plus the guy has a way of summarizing complicated issues that hits the nail on the head.

Dreamtrove: Walking encyclopedia, esp of history and biology. Sees the big, political picture.

Piratenews: Great at finding poorly publicized news and facts. I do read your posts, PN. Ok, I skim.

Rionaeire: Sweet. Sweet as apple pie. Got a strong value system, yet open to learning from others. Which says a lot on this board. A lot of common sense.

Auraptor: Tenacious and not afraid to be the only one standing for what he believes in. Genuinely cares about his country.

Hero's just annoyed that no one has posted nice things about him yet.

Hero: Says what he means/doesn't pussy foot around things, knows a lot about the law.

Frem: Stubborn, does what ever it takes to get to the bottom of things, cares passionately about kids and those who need extra care/who's rights get stepped on, passionate, driven, determined, goal oriented, believes in freedom.

Anthony: Freedom loving, deep thinking, willing to examine himself and rethink things if necessary, excedingly eliquent/skilled communicator/writer, kind to all.

DreamTrove: Diversely knowledgeable, likes to converse, calls me "a chara", passionate about the environment, driven.

Geezer: Presents interesting facts, nice guy all around, has interesting points about things.

CTS: Looks for the good in people/humanity, believes in freedom.

And yeah, I accidentally spelled demensional wrong, it was an accident. If I start a negative attribute thread I'll be the first to declare myself a crappy speller.

Fine, lets play happyfluffy, since I am stuck here anyways...

Hero: delightfully snarky sense of humor, ability to accept mutual antagonism on a professional, rather than personal level.

Geezer: amazing knowledge of history, makes rational and coherent arguments, slick debater.

Rappy: well, he's persistent I'll give, and he does occasionally bring up useful points no one else noticed.

CTS: humane, reasonable and willing to listen to and heed advice even when it conflicts with her own worldview.

Niki: animal lover, ecology minded, free spirited.

Mikey: blisteringly sarcastic, button pusher, question asker, doesn't often make assumptions.

Riona: fundamentally decent, empathetic, curious, thoughtful.

Chrisisall: entertaining, clever, devoted to things he cares for.

Byte: fellow dark spark, ability to follow a non-linear train of thought, wise enough to question things.

PN: less bonkers than advertised, brings up some topics no one else dares, much improved presentation skills.

HKCav: ability to cut to the root of an issue, sympathetic and understanding, tolerant.

Rue: cares deeply about our world and the others in it, and willing to go head-on about it.

Dreamtrove: clever, able to think sideways, see the bigger picture, wide perspective.

Signym: willing to fight tooth and claw over what she feels important even with folk she primarily agrees with, good scientific analysis skills, compassionate.

Magonsdaughter: keen observer, wide cultural understanding, ability to argue a point to the core.

Anthony: in a word, nice.. almost TOO nice - but of course there's that one button....

I'd be pretty redundant, since I can't think up more adjectives than have already been used, and I agree with MOST of them. So since this is supposed to be about people we normally don't get along with, who can find something in common with or some positive attribute about, I'll tackle the two I have to think hardest about to come up with something positive:

PN: Interested in science and occasionally posts some REALLY great photos of outer space and other stuff.
Raptor: Shows an interest in animals and occasionally posts some REALLY neat links about them.

I'm guessing that's the intent of this thread? Because when it comes to everyone else, I pretty much agree with what's already been written.

As for two of those about me: "Sociable"?!?! I'm about the least sociable person I know...well, maybe IRL. Given the internet is my outlet for socialization, maybe that's not completely wrong.

But "hot"?!? Omigawd, I'm blushing! Chris, watch out or I may develop a crush on you!

CTS, you're sweet. Even I admit I was ONCE (mommy's genes...she was gorgeous!), but tho' the "old hippie" still fits, the rest has gone the way of all things. Jim still insists I'm hot, so that's all that's important.

Byte, Yes to the Chris pairing, and yes to Frem as well (how'd you mean polyamory?), but I've got to add that I've got a crush on Mal4 as well, to be honest. And a bit of a sisterly crush on Anthony. There, I've fessed up.

I ROARED at the Wulf/Guns, and yes, Mincing and everyone, who could resist? (what does BDSM mean?)

I really gotta get off this damned thing. We've got a College of Marin General Asembly (their first ever!) at 2 which is gonna last for hours and it's already 12:30. Gonna take the sulky, hope the dogs can handle that long. There's only one free parking lot around the college, and it's blocks from the college--last time I walked it, it woke up my achilles tendonitis for the first time in quite a while (cement sidewalks). So since it's right along one of our favorite sulky routes, I'm gonna park where I do when we sulky and let the dogs take me in. Cooooold today and overcast; gloves, scarf, long pants (aughhh!) and a sweater. We'll see how long I last, since we'll be sitting on the grass in front of the Student Center. Old bones, you know...THEY're no longer hot, either! ;o)

ETA: Geezer, may surprise you to know I miss Rue, too. As well as Peacekeeper.

Polyamory because you have your own pairing going on, but you both seem okay with having multiple partners.

BDSM, well, it's basically dominance/submission kink. You know, leather and roleplay, sometimes with dog collars and whips. Mincing seems to want that kind of relationship? That's the impression I got.

I was about to post this really bizarre and off topic piece I wrote about sex, but then I decided not to because "Its not in the spirit of the holiday" (without looking it up tell me which episode that quote is from).

Basically it was about double standards, how something grosses one person out but the thing they don't mind talking about grosses another person out. I'll save it for later, actually I'll just write it again because I don't save things.

Wish: Fun to talk to, a good mom, can get along with anyone.

Niki, the thread was for all uf us to say nice things about each other, part of which being that we could try to find things about our least favorite posters to say nice to them.

1Kiki: Analytical, able to look at things neutrally without emotion getting in the way, a research minded person.

I didn't know Rue so I can't comment.

Chris: Another multidemensional poster, original, trusting, talented.

Frem, that made me smile.

I'm glad this thread that I started yesterday is here today when I need it. Unintentional, or maybe slightly subconscious, preplanning. Because today isn't a good day for Riona.

Yeah, Byte's right, BDSM is a fancy way of referring to those whose physicality responds to either getting or giving pain, also those whose physicality responds to controlling and dominating or conversely, to submitting physically, emotionally, being bossed or told what to do. These are two sides of the same coin, so there is one of each in each BDSM relationship, giving/getting what gives their nethers a response. The S and the M stand for sadism and massacism (can't spell it) but I don't know what the B and the D stands for, can anyone enlighten me for future reference?

Oh, that makes sense. The concept and I have a weird relationship. I mean if both parties want to do that to/with each other that's their business. Its not my speed but believe it or not it doesn't gross me out. It makes me feel a bit wary because its sort of abusive, but is it still abuse if both people fancy it? I'm pretty conflicted about how I should feel about it to be honest. I do think though that if the dom forces the sub to cut ties with friends/family, even if it makes the sub's body feel good, it isn't okay. What they do with each other is their business, but cutting off someone's contact with loved ones is not okay with me. But the rest of it? I can see both sides of it.

Don't regret posting stuff on my account a chara, you should post what _you want to post, and lots of people enjoyed it and the bit about Mince was pretty funny, I do recall him being about that speed. I wonder where he's gotten to? Most people around here really seemed to like him, unless I have him mixed up with someone else. As I recall he was the one who always posted in a particular style of sarcasm that was hard for me to unravel, but other people totally got it, so that's cool.

D&S = Dom/Sub

S&M = Sado/Masochism

B&D = Bondage/Discipline

Basically BDSM is the latter four, but often involves some of the first two as well, they just don't bother doubling the letters cause mostly everyone involved knows what the deal is.

Not really my cup of tea, would that it were given the pain I live with daily...

Pain would certainly be a lot more fun if that's how your body was callabrated, but even then I think one would ware out after a while. Plus I know of people who do Dom/Sub without the pain, I guess the key is finding someone who responds to the things, or in that case the opposite things, that you do.

DREAMTROVE

Thanks guys. I see I did pretty well considering I wasn't even here. Okay. Positive things about FFF:RWEDers. Thats a stickler

The first person that comes to mind

Anthony: nice, polite, and deeply caring and actually listens to and considers people's arguments, even when he thinks they might be coming from Mars.

PirateNews: really posts some insightful stuff, actual news. Fearless. I mean, gotta respect that level of self sacrifice.

Frem: Really deeply motivated, caring, and willing to spend the time to show others the way. Off the charts smart.

Canttakesky: She "gets it" politically* if there's one person here who does. If I had to follow someone here. Caring, clever and somewhere past the endzone.

Byte: Tenacious, gogetter, really understands things objectively and way to smart to be however old she is. Byte also gets it, more sciency*.

* (more of a 60/40 split)

Mike: He'll put up with anything and still be your friend. Also, he's knows his music and cars.

Auraptor: He's willing to debate positions that most often are held by the "we don't talk politics" crowd. I really want to give him creds for his story analysis off RWED though, I think he does good critiques.

As does ECGordon. Does he count?

Chrisisall, what can I say. You're an awesome dude. We need this kind of light in RWED, get a new sock puppet. Oh, and I said I would look stuff that stuff up for you. Ah, this serves as a useful reminder.

Riona: Great singing voice, and a charming person. I'm sure she'll have 8 beautiful children and auraptor can approve because they won't be on public assistance ;)

Signy: She really cares about her positions, to the point where I think she'd go to the trenches for them. Most of the time I would be on the other side, but since one of hers is the environment which is my main issue, that makes her cool, and a useful ally.

Geezer: the most common sense conservative on the board. If I'm not here, geezer's probably right. Also, guy has some cool hobbies

Magon: She likes Sarah Jane Smith. That's what I recall. She's also pretty passionate stuff, which sometimes we agree on :)

Hero: Hey, he's funny and still here. I think we've beat him senseless a few times, so he takes a licking and keeps on ticking.

Wulf: Has the courage to talk things out that no one else will, likes hair metal. Actually, his music is pretty good once I started listening.

Niki: Actually will debate stuff that is typically from Kosland somewhere, but she's not glued to the blue lever. For me she's the political counterpoint of Auraptor. She has the guts to take people to task even if they're on her side.

Phoenix Rose: great music, and the person to go to for your mental health problems if I'm not around ;) She really knows her stuff, and I mean that too all y'all here.

That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.
