Law enforcement officials have charged 12 people with using absentee ballots to skew an election in Georgia.

“As a result of their grand jury findings, 12 individuals were indicted in that particular matter and we will be trying that case in a court of judicial law instead of a court of public opinion,” District Attorney Joe Mulholland told the local TV station, WALB.

The charges followed a bitter November 2010 school board election in Brooks County in which the final tally was changed by an unusually large wave of absentee ballots.

During the election, 1,060 absentee votes were cast out of the 1,403 ballots mailed out to people who requested them, according to a July 2010 report by WCTV.

That’s far higher than nearby Thomas County, which had 119 absentee votes cast out of 202 requests, and Lowndes County, which had 169 absentee votes cast out of 439 requests, said WCTV’s report.

The 12 people charged are aligned with the Democratic Party.

News of the arrests followed The Daily Caller’s interview with former Alabama Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, in which he said voter identification laws are needed to counter ballot fraud in local elections.

That's how the story was posted. Blame the one who wrote it, not me.

Idiot.

But thanks for taking time to comment on the actual focus of the story....oh, wait. You didn't.

Never mind.

Oh, you posted it b/c you DIDN'T agree with it!

Well, glad to see you're edging closer to sanity.

To change society, you have to change your participation in it. Otherwise, all you will get is more of the same.

Remember when teachers, public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out half of our 401Ks, took trillions in taxpayer funded bailouts, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes?

You're clearly insane here.

12 were charged w/ tampering with ballots in an local election. That's a NEWS story. Not an opinion piece.

idiot.

No, I was fully aware of it when I posted it. In fact, I almost omitted it from the original story, as I didn't see the relevance or connection, until I read the entire line. At the very least, it shows a tie in to the ISSUE of keeping votes secure and fair, for all. That's what I got out of the other story, so I left it in. As did the ones who posted the story in the first place.

You did NOT point that out in your response. You're making shit up, or trying to, to cover your ass, after the fact. But you didn't even TRY to CYA, all you did was just CLAIM you mentioned something, when clearly you did not.

Your cherry picked quote is, again, completely from the original story, and not MY commentary. How could I be unaware of it when I'M the one who left it in there ? Maybe you WANTED to point something relating to this out, in one of your replies, but you never actually put it down in your post. See, one must type out the words with the keyboard, instead of just thinking them,in one's brain.

Again, the original post of this thread was the story, as it was written, w/ out any additional comment or input by me. YOU made an nonsensical comment about me agreeing with it, so that's why I posted it, as if 'agreement' had any relevancy in 12 people being charged for voter fraud.

Yes, I " agree " with them getting caught...I guess. You don't ?

"Voter ID would do nothing about absentee ballots."

This is what I posted. As you can see it is a very short sentence.

Now, if you had read the article with understanding, as you claim you did, and if you understood what I posted, which you apparently didn't, you would have recognized - or at the very least wondered - what I meant by posting about 'voter ID'. But that wasn't true. So, either you didn't read it in the article, you didn't understand it in the article, you didn't read my post, you didn't understand my post, or you didn't wonder what I meant by bringing up 'voter ID'. That is a lot of places you could have caught it, but didn't.

However, the fact that you can't seem to read with understanding is not my problem.

I just want to point out for future reference how MANY times you missed it.

Oh, and at this point I'm done with this. So, you'll have to look elsewhere for whatever passes for conversation with you.

You're the one w/ the reading comprehension issues here, not I.

You STARTED your participation in this thread with the words ' You idiot ' , as if *I* had given my opinion on anything.

I had not. I merely posted a story from the news, of 12 people , all ties to the Democratic party, who were charged with voter fraud.

THAT'S IT. The story was posted, as written, with a link at the end to direct anyone who wished to see the source for themselves.

So, why did you call me an idiot ?

Oh, I get it, you focused on the last , throw away line, from the story, as if I had been the one to say it. Clearly, you CAN'T read, as it was a tie in, an after thought, to the main issue at hand.

" 12 charged with voter fraud "

YOU IDIOT !

Actually, that's not true. The story, as written, did not include the bolded, underlined part that YOU added for emphasis. So you did not just post the story as written, you did indeed editorialize.

YOU call it a throwaway line. And the line you think is the most important one, judging by your editorializing over it, most others think is just a throwaway.

But you really are an idiot if you don't think you offered any opinion in the way you posted the story.

I didn't editorialize over the last lines on voter ID, in the least, so you're just making more shit up, so starved for attention you must be.

How you claim to know what I thought was MOST important when all I did was post the story about 12 charged w/ voter fraud, and yet from that, you seem to think it was the last line about which the story was written. The title of the thread was voter fraud in GA, not 'former AL Democratic Rep thinks voter ID laws are a good idea '.

Bright, not something you are, is it ?

You're the crazy one here, and it's not even remotely close.

Why won't you comment on the issue of 12 Democrats being charged w/ voter fraud ?

Oh, I think we all know why. Could be more cowardice than crazy, or a combo of both, in your case.

Gotcha, didn't her Kiki? The whole purpose of the story is evident by Raptor posting it. If it had been Republicans, he would not have. The fact that he bolded and underlined that it was Democrats WAS editorializing, and spoke very clearly to his intent. And he loved that a Democrat said voter ID was needed.

It's an act. To trigger others. And give him an excuse to call them names, thereby increasing the trigger in the hopes others will bite. That was his entire intent by posting and editorializing it. Worked well, didn't it? Got the thread to be about Raptor.

Oh, he's both crazier AND stupider than he seems. He proves it with every post.

Note how he utterly and completely missed my point about his editorializing, and how he now refuses to admit that the bolding and underlining - NOT of the final sentence of the article, as he claims, but the section ahead of that - of the party affiliation of the accused is his own addition to the article. It does not appear that way in the link he provided.

I thought I was quite clear about that, but Rappy has been singularly unable to follow it.

But I can say the same for any number of posters here on RWED with those same problems. Rap may be less articulate than they are. That doesn't make him stupid though.

From my perspective, Rap is a less articulate version of Sig, for example. Neither of them are crazy or stupid.

Geezer, I would have posted the story, probably with an editorial comment in the title or something, but I wouldn't have felt the need to underline and bold that it was about Republicans. And I have at times agreed with things Republicans have done or said, disagree with Democrats, admitted when I was wrong, changed my mind and never deliberately lied. Those are the differences, and they're BIG ones.

Mike, Raptor replied to me, most likely, because a) I answered that it was an act, and/or b) I'm a favorite target.

Gotta giggle...catch that last worm thrown out on the hook? Anyone gonna bite? It's been gone through so many times, common sense should say "don't feed the troll", but I'm waiting for him to turn it into a further thread about whether he lies or not. I hope not.

So, we once again see, that despite the juvenile claims of some on here, there's no evidence that I lie, outright or not.

True. I'm crazy enough to believe that honesty and accuracy in voting is what we, as Americans should expect, and that those who tamper w/ the voting process should be charged, tried and , if found guilty, punished. I also think they should lose their right to vote. At least for a number of years.

There is your lie right there. You starting this thread has little to do with voter fraud. It is about showing how Democrats are inherently bad. That is the purpose of this thread. If it were not, you would not have underlined or even made mention of political affiliation.

...and before you say "It was in the story" I found plenty of articles about this that did not mention any political party.

Hey, 2 birds, 1 stone... but it's not a lie. Sorry.

So? Was the story wrong? That it was Democrats ( and it was, btw ) involved in this case, and that fact WASN'T divulged by the MSM, doesn't THAT make you think ?

Well, it should. More times than not, if a Democrat does something wrong/ illegal, party affiliation is ignored, or greatly down played. But if a Republican does roughly the same thing, it's the first thing you see in the headline, even before the accused's name. Yes, there's bias in the MSM. Duh!

Which, is itself another side issue.

Okay, so now I'm not seeing much difference between Geezer and Rap.

You didn't see much wrong with Katherine Harris' eliminating tens of thousands of eligible Florida voters then, and you are really behind massive voter suppression now. Somehow, all your angst about the process is only directed one way, and toward a picayune county school board election of only a few hundred questionable votes at that. But I 'get' that about you. Your pretense at fairness, reason, and balance is tissue thin - and torn.

And there ya have it. Still miffed over the perceived injustice of the 2000 election, huh?

Good grief.

The only voter fraud w/ the 2000 election was of Dems attempt to retard the military vote, and the compliant media, "calling it " for Gore, before the precincts in the Central time zone of FL had closed. Precincts in areas which have a considerable U.S. military presence.

But ignore all that, right ?

It is when you suggest that you posted the story to talk about voter fraud. That was not your intent. That makes it a lie, and you are still doing it.

You can read minds now ? You know my intent, from merely posting something on the internet ?

Maybe you should visit Vegas, and try your powers there.

The story is the story. What ever my 'intent', is irrelevant. You not liking it, or agreeing with me, doesn't make it anything about it a " lie " .

No can't read minds, but your posting history speaks volumes.

Also, intent has everything to do with it when you post a story and then try to claim your intent in do so is different then what it is.

So CTSky

I haven't completely kept up on the history here of all or even most of the posts, but I wonder if you respond to the word 'crazy' with some extra sensitivity b/c it may have been directed at you at some time? Not trying to get an answer because either answer is a touchy thing, but it seems possible to me.

Were there 12 charged with voter fraud? Have you been able to find the story to be not true ? In case you find something which not only shows errors in the story, but intent,on my part, to offer up the false info as factual, you have nothing.

Even if you show that I posted something which was wrong, it doesn't constitute a " lie " .

Children know the difference between being wrong and lying. Seems a few 'adults' still have a lot to learn.

Not quite. I just don't see it as relevent to what should be a discussion of one particular instance of voter fraud (which you've so far failed completely to discuss, BTW).

Unless you'd like to get into the voter fraud in the Kennedy election, or the Hayes election, or George Washington bribing voters with booze during his first successful run for the Virginia House of Burgesses.

Welcome to my world. I USED to respect Geezer and didn't think of him in the same category; that's long over with.

Ahhh, yet another thread of--how many posts?--which Raptor has manipulated into being all about him. Congrats, folks.

Okay: We all know his intent in putting up the thread, past history screams it.

We all know he has lied in the past, and saying he "only put up a news story" is another lie, given the above.

We all know that whatEVER anyone writes, he will deny it, challenge it, twist it and/or use it to make nasty and/or condescending remarks, and every post from here on will encourage that.

Are you really so bored you want to keep this up? Just sayin'.
