Warren Buffet is evil because he pays his secretary too much money.

The general liberal consensus is that Warran Buffet should not pay less in taxes (by percentage, not actual dollars) then his secretary.

50% of the households in this country pay nothing in taxes, because they don't make enough money. Why then does this poor secretary pay anything at all? Because he's paying her too much.

In order to be paying more then him her salary is in the $200,000-500,000 range...or ten times the going rate for secretaries.

Clearly the only fair way to remedy this is to reduce her salary by 90%.

He could use the savings to hire additional staff or maybe to by something nice for himself (he deserves it). This would both create jobs and stimulate the economy. He could even give the money to charity. It does not matter, all that matters is that he pay his secretary less so that its fair to her and everyone else.

There is a difference between short term and long term capital gains that affects the rate they are taxed at. Short term gains are taxed at the same level as wage income. Long term, i.e. held for more than two years, are capped at 15%. So, there's some wiggle room. Buffett and Romney are well into long term with their investments, which is where the 15% figure keeps coming from.

And yes, there is a 15% wage tax bracket. It maxes at $33,950 if filing singly and $67,900 if married, filing jointly.
