I'm 26. I know a few of your ages but you should say them here anyways.

You must have had your daughter when you were notably older, or perhaps she's older than I reckon her to be, you've never specified age, which is fine, I picture her as being 15 or 16 for some reason. Oh well.

I just like knowing how old people are, I like knowing bits and pieces about people and piecing the person together in my mind. Plus Raptor got me wondering. I know a few people's but I wondered about some of you.

Kennedy. She was that VJ on MTV , right ?

Older than Riona, not as old as Sig.

Who is older, Sig or Niki ?

I take comfort in the fact that even though I have to pay into social security now, which supports my grandmother and in ten years time will support my parents, when I hit retirement age, I'd be too lazy to bother to apply, so I probably won't even notice that the system will have collapsed entirely by then.

I am a barrel of sunshine.

I'd like to think Story was referring to Rap, not you, Byte. That makes you...lessee, 26? I'm 63, as I've mentioned before. I was in high school the day Kennedy was shot, and like anyone else who was around then, remember exactly what I was doing and the entire day.

How do you know Story wasn't referring to Sig ? I was even more forthcoming in giving my age than she was.

Byte at least gave a pretty clear indication of when, even if not specifics. Rappy - as always - dodged.

I think he's 12, myself (in terms of mental maturity, at the least).

Nah...WOLF might be 12, but Rap seems more like a lonely guy with no life outside snarking on forums; that could be any age. As to MENTAL maturity, however, I grant you that one. Of course, Wolf could be a 12-year-old PERSONNA of Rap's (where's Wolf lately? Hasn't been needed maybe?).

On this particular matter, maybe, but I more often than not stick to the issues and the facts.

Y'all should know that by now, and I suspect you do.

You speak of mental maturity, yet where in this thread have I insulted or ridiculed anyone ? Or attempted to make personal remarks ? Where is THAT called for ?

You might want to see to being a bit more civil, if you can.

RAP saying "{You might want to see to being a bit more civil"?!?! That's hysterical, especially to anyone who's been here any length of time!

Okay, enuff. I came back to the computer 'cuz I had to wrestle with the DMV over some idiocy, and gave in to temptation to check new posts. But I gotta get off...at least today I get to do it chortling, instead of shaking my head in disgust. Thanx folks!

Byte is 26, she's my age, about six months older than me actually.

Story is younger than I thought, Magon is older than I thought. geezer is the same age as Niki.

Frem I don't believe you, you are not 42, I don't believe you. I know you're older than that because if you were 42 then you would have been born in 69 or early 70 and that isn't the case.

Come on Raptor, out with it, how old are you? I'm guessing you're in your later 30s.

Signe your daughter is a little older than I thought then, but not by much I'm guessing.

This is fun.

I already knew Byte's Niki's and DT's. Thanks for actually telling me most of you. I appreciate people who can actually answer a question.

Well Story, I wasn't even addressing you, but thanks for adding your 2 cents.

Great display of your character there, btw. Guess we can strike 'forgiving Christian ' off the list of your better qualities.

And Ri, because you asked again so nicely, and you're...well, you, I'll answer.

Well, actually I was stretching it a bit for the sake of the joke.
April 1970.
Dead serious.

You gotta remember I came into my personhood real early, never quite had an actual childhood and by the age of ten was already easing into advocacy and activism work almost out of self-defense, plus a bit later on carrying on the work of another who passed a lot of very detailed info on to me.

That is, unless you wanna subscribe to the belief Yuriko holds, that the core personality behind this screen simply skips to the next most compatible when its current owner passes.

Well as fun as Yuriko's version is and as great of a story as it would make, I can't really say I believe it. But still I'm skeptical of your dates, that would mean you weren't 18 until 1988. Still no word from Yuriko?

None, alas, and I worry, I do - but precious little I can do for it from here.

And consider that I had been running the household for my mother and dealing with adult responsibilities for a long time prior to that magic number, without an ounce of respect from the law and society for it - that left its mark, as did never actually having a childhood, per se.

While I am all for allowing them age appropriate responsibility and treating them as fellow human beings, shoving a child into adult responsibilities too early with no support can have disastrous psychological consequences, that it was necessary makes it no less horrible, and to my mothers credit once I shouldered the burden she treated me with due respect for it - not that anyone else ever did.

None of that was fair Frem, none of it should have happened to you. It bothers me that your mother let it happen, though I'm sure she did the best she knew at the time, you seem to have somewhat positive memories of her.

I don't know how you could get ahold of Yuriko, do you know what her temple was/is called? Do they have a website? I'm sure it would be in Japanese but maybe you have a friend that could read it and you could email her there? You've probably thought of all this before though.
