And we also have Rep. Rooney, who submitted HR 347, to explain EXACTLY WHAT HE MEANT.

Here's the discussion in the Congressional Record.

I read that and all I comprehend is yak yak yak paranoia blather redefinition of public property as restricted space under circumstances and circumvention of private property rights blah blah improves existing criminal statutes etc. etc. buncha bullcrap justifying curtailing movement and expression of population.

Oh, I see, they made a law I already don't like even BETTER. yay

Our aristocratic lords and masters have their very own security force paid for with the taxes of the peasantry. How quaint! Which one is the green knight? I hear he's REALLY tough.

OONJERAH

Quote Frem: "Some days it's like the GOP took every bad part of history and deliberately incorporated it into their party line."

I suspected as much. Some of 'em want to take the worst of The Old Testament, and make it the law of the land.

I have a friend who will, only if I ask him, point me toward things: articles, videos, books, etc., that tell how bad it is.
So I don't ask too often. Yesterday, he said: "Here's a sanity tip when it comes to national politics. Whenever you hear
"Someone proposed such-and-such in THE HOUSE today" or "Such-and-such bill passed THE HOUSE today," don't bother getting
too upset. The House passes a lot of bullshit things they know will never pass through the Senate or the reconcilliation process.
They do it for political theater. It gives certain pols face time on the news and fills a 24-hr news cycle. The most you should
invest is a mild "Ain't it awful."

Knowing that he was just then catching a plane, I didn't fire back, "But- but it already passed the House and the Senate like
wild fire and is on Obama's desk!"

You might want to look to that.

An astoundingly accurate assessment.

Trust those instincts, doll - they're far more correct, and more often, than the excusemongering which takes place in order to retroactively justify such infringements.

Well, yeah. It's all inaccurate.

I see that once again I have forgotten that the Liberals around here don't get sarcasm, and so forgot to include the [sarcasm][/sarcasm] commands to make it apparent.

And it couldn't possibly be your writing skills, or your hard-liner track record that could lead to folks not getting your brand of wit.
