Freedom is Important because People are Important

Hello,

I came across this article while doing research on people who were inexplicably tough. I don't mean tough as in 'macho man' but rather tough as in, 'resists an unusual amount of damage/fails to endure damage when he/she should.'

However, while this article tangentially touches on a tough guy, (a monk, apparently) it also discusses a number of brutal school killings in China. I often think of the U.S. as the mother of all school violence, and was surprised to read about such savage incidents in China. Generally I don't hear about such things happening in other countries.

Those monks are pretty amazing.

I think shootings like that happen everywhere occasionally, the thing was that when the news reports such things it gives other kids ideas and inspires them to try it, that's what I attribute our high number of school shootings in the early 00s to, once it wasn't talked about as much it stopped happening as much, it sort of fell out of fashion. But of course it will always occasionally happen, crap always does.

Hello,

Those monks are almost superhuman sometimes.

Of course, in China the problem seems to be stabbings and such with knives, since firearms are less available. But same difference. I doubt anyone cares whether fifteen people were stabbed or shot. It's terrible all the same.

Never forget what this man is. You keep forgiving him his trespasses and speak to him as though he is a reasonable human being. You keep forgetting the things he's advocated. If you respond to this man again, you are being foolish.

Would that this were true, but all too often the focus winds up on firearms INSTEAD of why it happened - that's always bothered me, still does, cause it provides a handy excuse NOT TO ASK certain questions no one else seems to like, or even want, the answers to.

What happens when people are powerless?

Some look to find a group they can exert power over.

There was a string of six or seven (I sure there were more that prolly never got reported) then...

I do not believe in impossible.

Imagine a puny little latchkey tween declaring outright war on a multimillion dollar empire, ridiculous, right ?
Sometimes patience and devotion is all the power one needs.

It is the only power he needs - because, unlike the great mass of men, he is aware of this power, and he is willing, even happy, to use it.

One time, on Tosh.O, he showed a monk who had pierced his privates , connected the hook to a rope at one end, and supported a man hanging onto the rope, who was completely suspended in air. They blurred out the most privates, for t.v., but it was evident that the monk wasn't wearing any sort of harness. Just holding up a whole man by his ...

Well, you get the idea.

Note to self: I wonder how long Anthony will continue with his childish, moronic persecution of others whom he falsely accuses of things for which they're not guilty.
