It's hard to believe that one of the greatest names in auto racing and sports cars can look so bad.

All the great engine manufatures from around the world use to go to Indy to show off their new stuff, now it's just Honda and Chevy.....sad.

I wasn't even aware that Lotus built any of their own engines. They don't for their road cars or their F1 cars - they use engines from other manufacturers, and concentrate their efforts on chassis and suspension, which are where Lotus traditionally has excelled.

Meanwhile, the best and brightest still go to F1 to test their mettle. No American drivers nor constructors have had success in F1 for years. At the pinnacle of auto performance, the U.S. doesn't even bother to compete.

FORD thought about getting into the Indy Racing Leauge a few years back, when they saw all the horse power killing rules they walked away.

Couldn't have had anything to do with the shrinking fanbase and disappearing television audience, could it?

I haven't watched an IndyCar race in years. Usually can't even find 'em on the TV schedule. They ruined that series years ago.

There are alot of M/T seats at Indy, I bet the ratings will be down also.

F1 retiree Reubens Barrichello was a slow rookie this year. Even I got the the finish line ahead of him in UK.
He owns a very large jet to avoid the TSA nutcrackers.

Looked like 200,000 seats were empty out of 400,000. Tickets $30 for standing and up to $150 to sit.

Last I heard it's on Versus channel. Not available in my area.

New Batmobile cars look silly but seem to make drafting less deadly in curves. At least they didn't go with the trike design.

At least Indycar finally dumped Danica Manica to NASCRAP. Her unfair 80-pound weight advantage won't help her much
there, since NASCRAP weighs cars with driver, plus the cars are so damn heavy anyway. It does help in adding
ballast to the far left side.

If Indycar can get rid of all female drivers, it might actually get taken seriously as a sport.

Imagine the Superbowl or World Series allowing lesbian dykes to play, or worse -- supermodels...

If Danica Patrick has a weight advantage, blame the series, not the driver. You don't hear me complaining about the "unfair advantage" of teams using drivers who are shorter and weigh less than I do - that would be like complaining because NBA players are taller than average!
