An average of about seven people a year in this country die of heart attacks in marathons, not to mention the people that die while bikeing...
Think I'm gonna chill today...

This reminds me of something grandma (86) has always said "Those women's husbands would go to work and work themselves to death and the women would sit around quilting or playing cards and would still be there doing that for forty plus years on..."

Thats why i dont run marathons.

My 83 yr old dad ran a marathon last year. On mile 22 he passed out unconscious and smashed his head on the pavement. Then he wandered in the ladies restroom to find his locker.

To find his locker, sure. ;)

But anyway. The article does go on to say that it's really specifically people who go overboard on exercise that start to damage their hearts. Exercise for a few hours a day is not dangerous so long as you don't go over an hour straight at 120 beats per minute or more. Most normal people will start to get tired before they risk heart damage and slow down or stop.

OONJERAH

I physically worked hard on a building project all week. It was good for me,
busting loose some of my lazy, lethargy build-up. Time to veg out . . .
If you need me to say something profound . . . Well, NM that.
I'll be on NetFlix or YouTube.
