Well, I could nitpick that it wasn't the "roll-out" of Biden, but why bother? Politicians are human, the media eats it up when they flub; that's fair. And of course, "The Republican National Committee jumped on the gaffe calling it a "freudian slip", so our laughing at Romney is just as appropriate. Breitbart, of course, was all over it...I won't quote them, lest there are those who haven't had breakfast yet.

But I'll just bother to point out "Romney also corrected his mistake, but a bit more slowly, returning to the stage after he'd already stepped off it. Reuters reports that Romney's wife Ann, pointed out the error to him". That's a bit funnier, having to return to the stage as opposed to correcting it in the next sentence, but not much. Partisan tempest in a teapot, I agree.

Fact Check: Ryan budget plan doesn't actually slash the budget

Here are a few little-known facts about Paul Ryan's supposedly slash-and-burn budget plan.

Government spending increases almost every year over the next decade.
Tax and other revenue rises year after year.
The 10-year deficit is still $3 trillion.
The fact that Ryan's spending plans grow the federal budget over the long term is one that could easily be lost in the political melee underway in the wake of his selection as Mitt Romney's running mate.

To be sure, Ryan is proposing major changes to Medicare and taxation that Democrats see as problematic.

But claims that Ryan is slashing spending don't quite square with the numbers. Those claims are convenient Washington shorthand for what Ryan's plan actually proposes -- which is to slow the rate of budget growth, but still allow the budget to grow.

Under the latest Ryan plan, the budget would grow from $3.6 trillion this year to $4.9 trillion in 2022. The only years in which spending would dip are 2013 and 2014.

Under President Obama's 2013 budget, spending also increases over the 10-year period, but by a much bigger amount. The budget grows from $3.8 trillion in 2012 to $5.8 trillion in 2022. And instead of the $3.1 trillion long-term deficit under Ryan's plan, Obama's plan comes with a $6.7 trillion deficit.

That's the money that would be added to the national debt over that period.

There is one measure by which Ryan is shrinking the budget. Over the next 10 years, it proposes to shrink government spending "as a share of the economy" from roughly 23 percent to about 20 percent.

The Obama campaign, though, calls the Ryan plan a "sham."

In a website launched immediately after he was picked as Romney's running mate, the campaign said the "extreme budget plan" would make "deep spending cuts now to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy."

Ryan's proposal calls for cutting the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent. It would implement two individual income tax brackets -- 10 percent and 25 percent.

While claims that Ryan is slashing the budget are questionable, there are studies to back up claims that the Republicans' tax plan benefits the wealthy more than others.

According to an Aug. 1 study released by the Tax Policy Center, Romney's tax plan would include cuts that "predominantly favor upper-income taxpayers."

It projected taxpayers making over $1 million would see tax cuts averaging $175,000. Those making between $75,000 and $100,000 would see an average tax cut of $1,800. And those making under $30,000 would see an average increase of $130, according to the report.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

It's possible to pity both, if you think about it. One type is suffering physical difficulties of a pretty terrible kind which affects their lives and their families in a horrible fashion. Some will crash and burn; some will stick together as families and grow as human beings from their suffering. In the end, those who do will be happier and more sane individuals.

Raptor's type are stuck in such an ugly, hate-filled little bubble from which they will never emerge.

In no way to demean those who are suffering, I wish them all the luck in the world (which I wouldn't wish for Raptor...). But both are pitiful in their ways, and Raptor is trapped in hell already. Between his far, hatred, inability to connect with the world, and his poor brainwashed mind, he'll never escape HIS prison.

I've got pity enough for both. Difference is, I would try (and have tried) to help the former; the latter, I would just avoid being around.
