What is the greatest force in the world? . . . Love.

What is the greatest channel for positive change in the world? . . . Love.

Them Enlightened guys have told us forever that to be better and make things better,
we must become calm, quiet, centered. Able to live in a state of grace. We knew
they were right, but the Way to do it is beyond the patience and discipline of most
people. Thus we failed to make our own Love.

Sufis, many cultures, have an easier, faster way: Music and dancing brings us bliss,
gives us the kind of energy to create the good. Some folks use Chants. I.e., don't
Think it, Feel it. In fact -- Stop Thinking!

I suggest a movement, starting with myself, to find the music that lifts me the highest,
and listen to it for creative, nurturing energy.

It is a personal quest. My creative music will make many others cringe, barf.
So what is Your best music to Become Love? Teach Me!

(I would put some mainstream music here, but I don't know any.)

There is no blame. There is doing and there is not doing.
Remember to laugh.

Thanks Oonjerah,

It's funny. I don't find that it really is so hard to choose love. You just do it one day. You just give up on all your broken b.s. self-lies and do it. It's a decision each of us can make right this minute. And y'know, you don't have to commit to love FOREVER, you can commit to it for five minutes. Commit to love for five minutes. Or just long enough to find someone and tell them you love them. Not hard. Not really. Just gotta make it a priority.

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Okay, this is gonna come across as remarkably perplexing unless you have some idea of the wacky crosswired way I cogitate, but nevermind that.

This song happens to be my survival mantra, when sick, injured, or at the brink of death, it is what reminds me that as long as I am still not-quite-dead-yet, I am still "in the game" no matter how bad it is, cause as long as that's true, it *IS* A Beautiful Day.

Not to mention the whole damn thing is like pure concentrated sunshine and happiness.

Sometimes you own the libs. Sometimes, the libs own you.

Melody eh? Most of what I listen to has a bitter or angry edge, but:

And I really liked the BBC 2012 Olympics theme (by a band called Elbow):

It's not personal. It's just war.

Gettin' old, but still a hippie at heart...

Damn, Oonj, great choices! I never heard the Bombadil thing; I was a bit sad they didn't include him in the movie, so don't know where that came from. Like it a lot, tho'.

Lion Sleeps Tonight has ALWAYS been one I love, and I loved Dueling Banjos but never knew it came from Deliverance (never saw the movies). I thought everyone on earth but me had forgotten Dominique--at the time I learned all the French lyrics, and translation, and used to sing it with them.

I'd have to think long and hard about what are my favorites--to many's dismay I'm sure, most of them are John Denver songs, since my biggest love is nature and he sung about that a lot.

Dunno the other ones, but you got me good on the first four.

Your words touched me, too, and reminded me of something I'd lost track of. I'm glad you reminded me; I've got some thinking on that score to do, too.

Many thanx.

People usually laughed when I said I like John Denver ... too corny, you know.
Every now & then, I gotta listen to Eddie Arnold's Cattle Call. But then, I'm still
a Roy Rogers fan.

Tom Bombadil's Theme, I assumed it was written by the (obscure) Lonely Mountain
Band that performs it, so their writer must be a genius. But no, it's by the far more
famous Chance Thomas. It's been a long time since any music spoke to me so clearly.

I don't recall the LotR books much -- too long ago. I gather Tom's too much an enigma
for the movies. But he is in the game.

Now we're makin' good Good GOOD Vibrations!

=========================
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. ~Charles R Swindoll

If I have to react to others all the time, then they own my mind more than I do.
If I let others tell me how to feel, I lose my ability to choose happiness.
If I let others tell me who I am, I've vacated self-definition.
Finally, I realized how foolish I was to give others such power over me.

Point of etiquette: Can women call a guy "dude"? Or is it a strictly
dude-to-dude salute? ... If so, is there an age limit on dudeness?

No! Dude now has numerous, universal meanings, much as the hippy,
"Like wow, man!"
