One of many factors. Deregulation is a favourite trick of Rethuglicans to get money moving, and it works, just not in a way that helps many but the rich.

The money boys wanted the go ahead to do a lot of things, including dirtier power. Short term is their vision, get rich by 40 & retire- let the poor schleps next in line do the clean up & restructuring. Long term means fewer insanely nuevo rich, so of course Obama is not their guy.
