Note the following:

1. Voter ID laws, which even one Republican said was intended to let Romney win:
Quote:

"Voter ID, which is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania, done,” Turzai said at Saturday’s Republican State Committee meeting. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0612/77811.html#ixzz2J0yZVSry]

2. Those long lines, especially in Florida where Rick Scott cut early-voting days. Again, the intent was made clear by some REPUBLICANS themselves:
Quote:

Republican leaders said in proposing the law that it was meant to save money and fight voter fraud. But a former GOP chairman and former Gov. Charlie Crist, both of whom have been ousted from the party, now say that fraud concerns were advanced only as subterfuge for the law’s main purpose: GOP victory.

Crist said party leaders approached him during his 2007-2011 gubernatorial term about changing early voting, in an effort to suppress Democrat turnout.

A GOP consultant said black voters were a concern. “I know that the cutting out of the Sunday before Election Day was one of their targets only because that’s a big day when the black churches organize themselves,” he said.

Former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer says he attended various meetings, beginning in 2009, at which party staffers and consultants pushed for reductions in early voting days and hours.

“The Republican Party, the strategists, the consultants, they firmly believe that early voting is bad for Republican Party candidates,” Greer told The Post. “It’s done for one reason and one reason only. … ‘We’ve got to cut down on early voting because early voting is not good for us,’ ” Greer said he was told by those staffers and consultants.

Wayne Bertsch, who handles local and legislative races for Republicans, said he knew targeting Democrats was the goal.

Of course, now Rick Scott says it wasn't his fault, despit his having signed the bill and DEFENDING it afterwards. Now: ""It was not my bill," Scott said. "The Legislature passed it. I didn't have anything to do with passing it."

3. And now this:
Quote:

Republicans in five states, notably Virginia, have discussed changing the way they award Electoral College votes in presidential races by apportioning them on each congressional district, rather than the state's popular vote. The reason: Republican Mitt Romney would have won the presidency despite losing the popular vote in states where the GOP controls the legislatures: Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Florida.

In Virginia, hey're getting a bill ready for a vote that, had it been in effect in November, would have given Obama about 30 percent of the Electoral College votes, even though he won 51 percent of the popular vote in that state. So. Given JUST the above, can you (ignoring Rap, whose answer we all know) honestly say that the Republican party has not been attempting voter suppression?

I'd really like to hear your answers.
