All my kids had those guns and they were a lot of fun. I remember the early 80's being tough economic times for us. We had three kids, two cars, and had just bought a big house. I was totally over-extended, but by the end of the decade everything was looking good. Yeah, the 80's....great music, great movies, and all sorts of new gadgets.

I'd hate it if the 80's were our finest decade, but as things are looking now, it may very well be. At least I was alive to have seen and lived during that glorious, golden age.

Matel had the best guns. Mostly western. Western TV programs were were very popular when I was growing up; not like today. I had a Matel scout rifle. Most I my friends had Wincesters. One birthday I got a complete Paladin outfit. I was all dressed in black with silver sixshooters.

From 1959 to 1964 there were over 40 western tv programs on the 3 networks in prime time. In 1959 alone there were 29 of them. I've been watching The Rifleman reruns every Saturday morning on AMC. Just simple half hour morality plays with great guest stars. It's pretty awesome. Of all those great shows of that era that included Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rawhide, Big Valley, Wagon Train, Have Gun Will Travel, Cheyene, Bat Masterson, Broken Arrow, High Chaparel, Maverick, Laramie, Wanted Dead Or Alive, The Virginian, Death Valley Days, etc., etc., my favorite show was The Lone Ranger.
