The National Transportation Safety Board recommended that all 50 states lower the threshold from 0.08 blood-alcohol content (BAC) to 0.05.

The story is on the CNN.com homepage.

When you drink and drive on public roads, you're breaking the rules which permit you to drive upon those public roads. Take a cab or limo, and drink all you want. Or drive like a mad man on your own property, if that's what does it for ya. But if you OPERATE a vehicle on public roads, and you're impaired... you're putting yourself and more importantly, others in harms way.

I have no problem w/ it, actually. It's not YOUR own personal road, so you can't do as you please.

Mouthwash could set it off. A sip of wine from communion could set it off. Having a swig of beer won't impair you. But BAC of 0.05... very well could.

Plus, are field breathalyzers that accurate ?
