Ok Mitch. Ok Rand. You gonna take off your frilly tutus and actually do anything about it? No, I didn't think so.

"We'll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false." -- William Casey, Reagan's presidential campaign manager & CIA Director (from first staff meeting in 1981)

You left out the key quote:

"I– I don’t think we know what the facts are." - Mitch "Yertle" McConnell

"I supported Bush in 2000 and 2004 and intellegence [sic] had very little to do with that decision." - Hero

"I was wrong" - Hero, 2012

Mitt Romney, introducing his running mate: "Join me in welcoming the next President of the United States, Paul Ryan!"

Rappy's response? "You're lying, gullible ( believing in some BS you heard on msnbc ) or hard of hearing."

Of course McConnell is gonna say that. That's right up there with a fundamentalist saying the universe is 6000 years old, to use Kwik's example from another thread. Doesn't make it so....

Audience members, you might also note that Jong's comment suggest that even he himself doesn't believe that McC or Rand is gonna do anything about this except flap their jaws.

Isn't that some kind of mug's game? Post an inflammatory quote, then suggest that even you don't believe in the speakers, yourself?

Chicken-something, I think I suggested it might be, in another thread.

Watch out, Jong. You're slipping into PirateNews irrelevance. Keep it up much longer, you'll march all the way over the line, never to return.

No one has come out and said that they have hard proof that the president was involved in any way, shape or form.

That is the problem though. Obama is not on top of the administrative part of the Executive branch, but that doesn't make him a "crook." I bring that up because McConnell and Company are quick to bring up Watergate (man!, do they want to get rid of that stink so badly (what a republican president cheat, naaaaahhhhh!)

P.S. Republican presidents cheat, Democratic presidents like to fuck interns and movie stars.

We're only at the beginning of all three scandals. Step by step they will all continue to unfold on their own. The small fish will lead to the bigger fish, and the bigger fish will lead to the top fish. Look for a few firings inside the White House soon to include Chief of Staff Denis McDonough, and White House Chief Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler. Also Eric Holder signed and approved the Fox News Reporter James Rosen's phone tap, using the Espionage Act as cause. He's likely to be gone very soon too. All three of them will be called to testify under oath before Congress. These proceedings are going to go on and on for years. By the time Obama goes on tv to say he's not a crook, the only difference between him and Nixon will be that Nixon didn't use a teleprompter to say it.

When even the Huffington Post turns on the Obama Administration something is surely rotten in Denmark.

Nothing to do but let them keep spamming the board until it's over, they're having too much fun. We could always, y'know, only reply in one or two threads on the same issue...but they'll probably just put up more and more threads, anything and everything they can find...and you know they will. Such is life.

This is part the the Repub strategy for Obama's second term: Dig up irrelvent stuff from the past... STUFF THEY KNEW ABOUT A YEAR AGO.... and just ride that friggin' hobby-horse so they can bring up.... (wait for it...) ... OBAMACARE for the 32nd time. Then dig up MORE irrelevant shit from the past.

There are in fact more important things for the Republicans to be complaining about. But the parts that are really bad, like authorizing "boots on ground" military forces inside the USA, universal surveillance, drone strikes of American citizens, and indefinite preventive detention ... the Republicans are all on-board with.

You are right about one thing......................

The Republican controlled Congress will milk this for years and conduct meaningless, redundant hearings to make it seem that they actually care about this country.

This instead of actually writing laws and bills that will move this country forward. The only thing that will get done is they will make sure to build up the fact that they held these hearings and emphasize their re-election bid. Whether you like Obama or not, there's still the business of moving this country forward. Focusing in on the negative is what their good at, and nothing more. Imagine trying to repeal a law 37 times and failing miserably each time, doesn't get any better than that. Only in America! What a country!

All any Republican knew about the latest goofs by the Administration was that the IRS was doing an internal investigation of reviews of tax-exempt organization filings, and that was pretty much a "we'll let you know in April/May 2013". And Lois Lerner sure didn't take the Fifth a year ago.

Didn't know about the seizure of AP phone records a year ago, since it hadn't happened then.

Didn't know about the sterilization of the Bengazi briefing notes a year ago, since that was pretty closely held until earlier this year.

The New York Times pointed out, quite a bit later than a year ago, that the Justice Department labeled Fox News reporter James Rosen a "co-conspirator" when subpoenaing his e-mails. But maybe they're "Repubs" too?

If not President Obama himself, his administration is screwing the pooch left and right, and at the least not being proactive about damage control on these events.

For example, rather than being caught out by the IRS focus on conservative groups' requests for non-profit status, the White House could have reported it first, along with actions against the folks who messed up and corrective measures. Instead, Obama's aides (they say) kept him in the dark, apparently hoping the whole thing would get covered up. Bad decision. One of many recently.

You nailed it, Shiny.

The sad thing, for me to see HERE, is that you and some of the rest of us are only FEEDING INTO their obsessions; by now everyone knows there can be no "debating" them, facts mean nothing and all they're doing is posting every repetitive thing they can find and glorying in slapping each other on the back, while snarking at anything and everything that tries to speak to sanity.

All it does is encourage them, doesn't anyone get that? I say let 'em have their obsessions, it'll pass in time and we could be paying attention to REAL stuff, rather than letting them goad us into participating in their idiocy. If you enjoy snarking uselessly, have at it, but otherwise, it's a waste of time to let them get to you. JMHO.

Yes, Geezer... BUT BUSH.

Because there is really nothing so nauseating as a hypocrite who cheers on vile actions when 'his' side engages in it, and decries it otherwise.

So when THEY kill civilians en masse, it's called terrorism. When WE do it, it's called "collateral damage".

When they grease the wheels with a little political donation it's called corruption". When we do it, it's called "free speech".

When they install a government that tortures people, it's called tyranny. When we do it, it's called freedom.

When Bush disappeared people to secret overseas prisons and tortured them, when Bush thought long and hard where to detain people without charges (some place under American control but not on American territory, like... oh, I dunno... a military ship at sea or foreign base like Guantanamo), spliced into AT&T's SF router without a warrant, blew a hole in the Federal budget to prosecute a war that had absolutely no reason for being, and set up the economy for a long, hard fall ... you called it "leadership".

Ah, the old bury-your-head-in-your-ass routine - no sense in ever worrying about what's happened, because that's in the past.

Hey, Benghazi was more than 6 months ago, right? Why can't you just leave the past in the past and move on? Ditto Fast-n-Furious, the IRS, subpoenaed phone records, etc. It's ALL in the past. In fact, every single thing that has ever happened in the universe happened in the past. Why are you so hung up on Obama's ancient history?

So, what did YOU do IN THE PAST to stop Bush?? Bueller? Bueller? Anything?

Did you object to invading Iraq? Worry about the civilian death toll? Have doubts about the existence of WMD? Did you object to Guantanamo? Did you find any fault with the so-called Patriot Act? Voice any concerns about torturing prisoners? Take issue with Unitary Executive? Express doubts about the cost estimate of Medicare Part D?

Or, let's go back even further- Any issues with Reagan making arms deals with Iranian terrorists? Any problems with carpet-bombing and napalming Vietnamese?

Name me ONE policy that you objected to back then that you suddenly find so offensive now. Seriously, I expect an answer, because as far as I can tell you DO fit the stereotype. In your long history of posting here, you're OK with ANY USA military action that, and nearly all trampling of civil rights. There are only two issues that you and the GOP show a sliver of light between the two of you, and that is gender/ reproductive freedoms. Oh, yippee.

You know, I could probably find examples of the Obama administration doing pretty much the same things you listed above, same-same as the Bush Administration or most any other administration in the past.
And so can I. The difference between us, and the thing that makes me NOT a dishonorable hypocrite is that I object to BOTH. You? Not so much.

It must be nice for you to have this little set-piece stereotype speech in your head, so you don't have to consider what people actually say or do, but just default to "Not like me...evil". Saves a lot of time, I bet.
No, I remember what you've posted pretty accurately, and I've described you fairly. If you happen to fit the stereotype, that's your problem, not mine.
