Yet another situation which undermine's Zimmerman's credibility:
Quote:

A Florida judge revoked bond Friday for George Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin.

Seminole County Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. ordered Zimmerman to surrender to the county sheriff no later than Sunday afternoon.

Lester accused Zimmerman of having misrepresented how much money he had when his bond was originally set in April. Prosecutors say he had $135,000 at the time Zimmerman's wife, Shellie, told the court, under oath, that they were indigent.

The prosecution cited as evidence recorded telephone conversations that Zimmerman had with his wife prior to the hearing. The conversations were recorded while Zimmerman was being held in the Seminole County Jail after being charged with second-degree murder on April 11.

"The defense, through Mrs. Zimmerman, lied to this court about the amount of money that they had," said trial prosecutor Bernie de la Rionda. "I don't know what words to use other than it was a blatant lie."

Outside the courthouse, a lawyer for the family of Martin said Friday's decision is significant. "Judge Lester's finding that George Zimmerman was dishonest is very important because his credibility is the most important thing in this entire case," Benjamin Crump told reporters.

In court documents, State Attorney Angela B. Corey also said that Zimmerman had two passports, and the passport that he surrendered to the court at the April hearing was one that Zimmerman had reported stolen on March 8, 2004. That passport was valid until May 2012, Corey said.

Zimmerman was issued a second passport on March 26, 2004, and that one is valid until 2014, she said.

The prosecutor asked the court that Zimmerman be ordered to surrender the second passport to authorities.

But Lester appeared to accept the explanation from Zimmerman's lawyer that his client had given him the second passport, and the lawyer simply forgot to hand it over to authorities until Friday.

Regarding Zimmerman's finances, Corey alleged that in the recorded phone calls in April the couple "spoke in code to hide what they were doing" regarding the money in a credit union account belonging to the couple.

The money was apparently donated by members of the public to Zimmerman's website.

Zimmerman "fully controlled and participated in the transfer of money from the PayPal account to defendant and his wife's credit union accounts," Corey said in court records. "This occurred prior to the time defendant was arguing to the court that he was indigent and his wife had no money."

In late April, Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, said that the money raised by the website was put into a trust account that the attorney controls.

But Corey stated Friday in the court documents: "The money still belongs to defendant and he can demand it at any time."

Court papers provided a partial transcript of a phone call allegedly showing the code used by Zimmerman and his wife on April 16:

Zimmerman: "In my account do I have at least $100?"

His wife: "No."

Zimmerman: "How close am I?"

His wife: "$8. $8.60."

Zimmerman: "Really. So total everything how much are we looking at?"

His wife: "Like $155."

The prosecutor said the judge "relied on false representations and statements" by Zimmerman and his wife when the court set his bond at $150,000. He was required to post only 10% of that.

Corey argued that the court should revoke the bond or increase it "substantially."

Lester appeared angry that the court had not been told about the money. "Does your client get to sit there like a potted palm and let you lead me down the primrose path?" he asked Zimmerman's lawyer. "That's the issue."

O'Mara told CNN on Friday night that he had discussed the judge's decision with Zimmerman, who was not in court on Friday. "He's frustrated because he now has to come out of hiding," O'Mara told CNN's Anderson Cooper.

"You need to realize we're still talking about a 28-year-old who's being charged with a crime he does not believe he committed, and his whole life has been turned upside down, so I think that it all needs to be kept in context."

O'Mara added that he hoped the judge's revocation of bond would be temporary. "We're going to have a conversation with the judge to try to explain it away. Hopefully, that will be worthwhile and we're going to get back out on bond." http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/01/justice/florida-teen-shooting/index.html

"...explain it away"? What's to explain? Seems pretty clear to me, and not particularly good as it pertains to Zimmerman's honesty...

Eh, I dunno... I don't have any love for the legal system, so I can't really blame a guy up for second degree murder for trying to deny them their pound of flesh. I think this is kind of a separate issue from his murder charges, this is more like perjury and contempt of court.

Perjury and contempt of court are good ways to self-destruct while interacting
with the legal system. Indeed, I have the impression that murder/manslaughter
can be small potatoes compared to crossing a Judge.

Zimmerman's father is a Judge; so he should know the Rule. But his common sense
gland is missing or broken.

SANFORD, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) -
An attorney for the former neighborhood watch volunteer charged with killing
Trayvon Martin has confirmed with FOX 35 that there will be a new bond hearing
for his client later this month.

George Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, said a new bond hearing date is set
for June 29.

Zimmerman returned to the Seminole County jail on Sunday, two days after his
$150,000 bond was revoked. Prosecutors say Zimmerman and his wife misled a
judge about how much money they had to put up for the bond.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder and has pleaded not guilty.

Will jury, or judge, decide George Zimmerman's fate? =>
http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2012-06-10/news/os-george-zimmerma
n-stand-your-ground-20120608_1_impartial-jury-immunity-hearing-defense-lawyers

The nation's fixation on the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin
has led many to question whether an impartial jury could be found for the
trial of his killer, George Zimmerman.

But it's possible a judge, not a jury, will decide Zimmerman's fate. He says
he fired in self-defense, and many expect his lawyers will eventually ask
for an immunity hearing under Florida's controversial "stand your ground" law.

Often described as a "minitrial" in which the burden of proof is on the de-
fense and the judge serves as jury, such hearings are unlike other criminal-
justice proceedings.

The lawyers' roles are reversed, the burden of proof is low, and the stakes
couldn't be higher.

"If the judge dismisses the case, it's game over," says Eric Schwartzreich,
a Fort Lauderdale attorney who has represented multiple "stand your ground"
defendants since the law was passed in 2005.

Since the Trayvon Martin shooting, the law has been the subject of renewed
debate. A task force created by Gov. Rick Scott to re-examine "stand your
ground" will hold its first public meeting this week.

The law allows civilians to use deadly force anywhere they're legally allowed
to be, so long as they are not committing a crime and have a reasonable fear
of death or serious injury.

Even if immunity from prosecution isn't granted, the hearings can have value
for defense lawyers, Schwartzreich said. They can test their theories, their
witnesses — and often, their client — in a courtroom.

"You get to actually see in a courtroom how a witness will testify on the
witness stand," he said.

Schwartzreich asked for immunity in two recent cases that made headlines:
those of Craig Sandhaus, the man charged with stabbing downtown Orlando
bar bouncer Milton Torres, and Fitzroy Salesman, a Miramar city commissioner
who pulled a gun during an argument at a grocery store.

Both motions were denied. The Sandhaus case has not yet been tried, and a
jury acquitted Salesman of the felony he faced. Schwartzreich credits the
self-defense argument he made at the trial.

The law gives defense lawyers "two bites at the apple," Schwartzreich said.
"You can ask the judge for immunity, and you can argue the 'stand your ground'
law with the jury . . . "

Now that Lee is fired for not arresting him, what if George Zimmerman walks? That'd
be a twisty irony.

Trayvon Martin covered George Zimmerman's mouth and nose with his hands and
went for Zimmerman's gun before the neighborhood watch volunteer shot and
killed the unarmed teen, Zimmerman told police in the days after the shooting.

In the most dramatic retelling of the rainy night of Feb. 26, Zimmerman
detailed the incident for Sanford, Fla., police in 8 video and audio taped
interviews released early Thursday by Zimmerman's lawyer, Mark O'Mara.

I haven't even bothered to read or listen to that, I'm afraid. There have been so many contradictions, discrepancies, etc., that I figure after all this time Zimmerman has had plenty of opportunity to put together the story he wants believed, so I'm just letting the legal system sort it out, if they can.

I think no matter what Zimmerman's defense uses to justify the fatal confrontation, they're going to have a difficult time getting past the fact that he got out of his car after the police told him not to.

I've recently moved into the neighborhood, an old woman of 70.
Ten o'clock at night, I'm walking home when I notice a man
following me. I turn and look at him; he's got his eye on me
all right, but he doesn't approach. He's not wearing a uniform;
he doesn't identify himself.

I am apprehensive, even frightened. So I move quickly to the
door of a neighbor I've met, since my own place is half a
block further on. When the neighbor opens the door, I point
to my stalker.

Neighbor: Oh, that's George; he's our security guard.

Me: That's your security guard? He sure doesn't act like one!

Zimmerman's behavior was suspicious; Martin's was not.

No, I wouldn't be able to get on the Jury for this trial.
My picture of Zimmerman as a stalker is too ingrained.

No they didn't.

It was reported in the newspapers that Zimmerman made the 911 call from his car. He was then asked if he was pursuing the person, then the dispatcher said "we don't need you to do that." Other reports say Zimmerman was already out of his car when he called the police. So there is a conflicting detail there about him being in or out of the car, but there is no mistake that the dispatcher told him not to pursue. Do you know something else?
