Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

Marshmellows? Oh, and the hot tub is to die for :P

And why is this good news fer the damnded Middle East? Because if ridiculously religious Ireland can pull it's head out of it's ass and let people find their own little bit of freedom and peace, so can the overdressed meatwads with genocidal gene juice...Maybe....eventually..... really probably shouldn't count on it, but I'm leanin' more that direction than I have in a while, and that's SHINY. Like I said, tomorrow I'll go back to despising the planet, Ok??

Ahh. OK. And while I kinda do get your point, Ireland at least has gone through the middle ages, and Christianity has had a reformation. Not so much w/ Islam. If anything, it's reverting back to the 1st millennium.

If there's no development or change within Islam, how can it "go back" to anything? If there's no development or change within this religion, how can it even be that there's so much division even within Islam, so much difference in practice worldwide?

How is the Reformation a big stepping stone for Christianity, seeing as it basically resulted in vicious bloodshed in much of Europe until people decided to take a step back and allow some first attempt at religious plurality - and then still go on to burn the evil witches because the Bible says so?

How well evolved past the middle ages is it that Ireland only recently apologized to thousands of women who were forced into slave labor in "Magdalene" institutions because someone didn't like their lifestyle or how they were victims of abuse and incest and all under the mantle of the Catholic church? How is any of the recent abuse in the Catholic church and the non-follow up of it a splendid step forward from the middle ages?

They don't burn the witches in public anymore.
Maybe they would if they could sell tickets. :(

It doesn't it doesn't at all

There are barely any Atheists, Catholics or Buddhists left in the Middle East. Every year Islam spreads itself by the sword claiming more and more religious prisoners

and AURaptor I'm not a Bush fan, you have to admit George's invasion has been a disaster. The Assyrian Christians with history back to ancient Mesopotamia are now almost dead, the Yazidis population is dying, Sabean Mandaeans are no longer surviving. In Iraq and Syria there has been a genocide of over 400,000 Christians the GW Bush war had extreme fallout and led to the almost extinction of ancient Christian culture.

As for Islam, this has been going on a while. Carl Gustav Jung (1875 – 1961) was the Swiss founder of analytical psychology, he compared Mohammedism to Hitlerism.
'We do not know whether Hitler is going to found a new Islam. He is already on the way; he is like Muhammad. The emotion in Germany is Islamic; warlike and Islamic. They are all drunk with a wild god. '
Haran Gawaitha ancient Mandaean texts, 'I will tell you, (O ye) priests who live in the Arab age, (of that which occurred) before the Son-of-Slaughter, the Arab, went out and prophesied as a prophet in the world so that they performed circumcision like Jews and changed sayings - for he is the most degraded of false prophets. Mars accompanieth him because he is the Seal of prophets of the Lie, (although) the Messiah will appear after him at the end of the age! I will inform you, Nasoraeans, that before the Son-of-Slaughter, the Arab, emerged and was called prophet in the world and Mars descended with him, he drew the sword and converted people to himself by the sword'
John Adams US founding father and John Quicy Adams President: ' he [Muhammad] declared undistinguishing and exterminating war, as a part of his religion, against all the rest of mankind…The precept of the Koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God'
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Statesman, leader, a Turkish army officer, revolutionary writer, and founder of modern Turkey before its current rape ' For nearly five hundred years, these rules and theories of an Arab Shaikh and the interpretations of generations of lazy and good-for-nothing priests have decided the civil and criminal law of Turkey. They have decided the form of the Constitution, the details of the lives of each Turk, his food, his hours of rising and sleeping the shape of his clothes, the routine of the midwife who produced his children, what he learned in his schools, his customs, his thoughts-even his most intimate habits. Islam – this theology of an immoral Arab – is a dead thing. Possibly it might have suited tribes in the desert. It is no good for modern, progressive state. God’s revelation! There is no God! These are only the chains by which the priests and bad rulers bound the people down. A ruler who needs religion is a weakling. No weaklings should rule'
Saraswati an Indian Sage who is considered to be the most important Hindu religious leader of his time, describes the muslim religion: ' Having thus given a cursory view of the Quran, I lay it before the sensible persons with the purpose that they should know what kind of book the Quran is. If they ask me, I have no hesitation to say that it can not be the work either of God or of a learned man, nor can it be a book of knowledge. Here its very vital defect has been exposed with the object that the people may not waste their life falling into its imposition... The Quran is the result of ignorance, the source of animalization of human being, a fruitful cause of destroying peace, an incentive to war, a propagator of hostility among men and a promoter of suffering in society. As to defect of repetition, the Quran is its store'
Frank Miller Comic film director, book artist, screen writer, story board artist ' We're constantly told all cultures are equal, and every belief system is as good as the next. And generally that America was to be known for its flaws rather than its virtues. When you think about what Americans accomplished, building these amazing cities, and all the good its done in the world, it's kind of disheartening to hear so much hatred of America, not just from abroad, but internally... For some reason, nobody seems to be talking about who we're up against, and the sixth century barbarism that they actually represent. These people saw people's heads off. They enslave women, they genitally mutilate their daughters, they do not behave by any cultural norms that are sensible to us. I'm speaking into a microphone that never could have been a product of their culture, and I'm living in a city where three thousand of my neighbors were killed by thieves of airplanes they never could have built'
George S. Patton US Army officer and commander, won many battles in WW2 : ' To me it seems certain that the fatalistic teachings of Muhammad and the utter degradation of women is the outstanding cause for the arrested development of the Arab. He is exactly as he was around the year 700, while we have kept on developing'
David Hume 1711 – 1776 a Scottish philosopher and historian, comments on Islam
'But would we know, whether the pretended prophet had really attained a just sentiment of morals? Let us attend to his narration; and we shall soon find, that he bestows praise on such instances of treachery, inhumanity, cruelty, revenge, bigotry, as are utterly incompatible with civilized society. No steady rule of right seems there to be attended to; and every action is blamed or praised, so far only as it is beneficial or hurtful to the true believers.'
Some Muslim apologists have claimed that Persian Muhammad ibn Zakariya al-Razi was a Muslim scientist that made innumerable discoveries and contributions to science in the 10 and 11 th centuries. I agree with the latter, he was indeed a great scientist but I think its a bit disingenuous that he be considered a Muslim
' If the people of this religion Islam are asked about the proof for the soundness of their religion, they flare up, get angry and spill the blood of whoever confronts them with this question. They forbid rational speculation, and strive to kill their adversaries. This is why truth became thoroughly silenced and concealed'
