Curiously, what the reichwing here hasn't figured out is that the FF crew wasn't too pleased with the Blue Sun Corp either. They were neither pro big-government, nor were they pro big-business or pro rich-people, because it seems to me that FF interfered with big business' plans, stole from the wealthy, and were definitely against centralized military intervention.

If the reichwing were to actually see someone like Mal operating in the here-and-now... shippers operating on the margins of controlled space, smuggling contraband, stripping big ships, occassionally staging daring robberies of extremely wealthy people, and harboring anti-govenrment fugitives... (closest I can think of is Somali pirates)... they would be claiming that Mal's crew were just an anti-American pirates, thieves, and terrorists. And they would be calling on their politicians and security apparatchiks to SAVE THEM from the bad people who were trying to take away their money and safety. How anyone of these trust fund babies and business owners can possibly think that the FF crew would be on their side.... it's just as unbelievable as thinking that the Founding Fathers would be on their side.

To me, when someone is willing to write something on an anonymous internet where all anyone has to go by is what people write about themselves--and especially when they do it deliberately (I might say maliciously) to fool others, that tells me everything I ever need to know about whether to trust them or not, and how willing they probably are to have sock puppets. Rap's done it repeatedly.

I note in fairness that I felt the same about it when Frem did it recently, and will never take whatever he writes as absolute truth either. My husband and his older brother used to do it as a joke; they'd always smile and tease and admit it immediately, but I never liked it and said so, but to me that's different from doing it on the internet so that they can laugh at people for believing them.
